Great spot to pick up lunch. There's a pizza & sandwich spot close to the register and a seafood spot in the back. In addition, there are other options. On wednesday, the sushi are discounted. Furthermore, there is an eating area past the register.Big Y tends to be more expensive than other markets, but there are discounted items from time to time.

I want to start off by saying that I loved shopping here when I first moved into town, it was my go to shop, but that has changed. People are nice (those who haven’t left the company). This place has became very corporate, it never felt like that before it felt very much like a small town market, but it has gotten very corporate. The prices are high for no reason, and when something is marked wrong and you bring it up they go “i don’t know”. If I wanted that type of treatment I would go to Walmart. You’re the only grocery store in Stafford Springs CT, get it together.

Nice clean store, staff was friendly except for the upper management. They were huddled over by onions all conversing. They were in the way and I asked the one closest to me to excuse me and he didn't acknowledge or apologize. Continued with his conversation as he and I and my client in a wheelchair were in the way.

Most cashiers and baggers are polite. Prices are much higher than other area grocery stores but quality is good.

I prefer big y over all the other grocery stores near Somers Ct...However, I just reammended my review. The bread they make has been stale lately.Big Concern!!Their meat isn't as fresh as you would think.Double wrapped meats are a Huge Red Flag!.Bought some bone in pork chops on sale and they were very sub par.. I noticed that they were double wrapped.. which means that they were pulled from the line and wrapped again, adding another week to the 'sell by date'...I'm actually seriously interested in whether or not that they are actually selling, 'choice' meat...If I were a shopper who could buy their meats from a business that says they have choice, and it's a small shop.. I'd trust it more than Big Y...I used to use this brand as a staple, but after finding alot of double wrapped meat.. I can only imagine the rest of the products there. Even the vegetables look old.Btw, this isn't an indictment for this location, it's on at least 4.. Stafford, Enfield, Ellington in CT and East Longmeadow in Massachusetts

I like that this place is real close to my workplace, real easy to stop by and pick up last minute items on a weekday. Prices are outrageous to say the least.

Prices are a little too high, hard for low income families to properly shop so traveling for food is frequent, but its a good place for last minute items, or items on sale. Pizza is delicious. Sales are the best time to shop, especially 10/10 sale. I also love their floral area. I've bought 5 gorgeous plants and the cottage roses are cheap yet absolutely stunning.

The town's only supermarket offers quality products, though prices may be high. It provides delivery services through Doordash for hot food and Instacart for full food delivery. 🚚

I can't say enough nice comments about the Enfield Big Y store. They always have what we need. All of the employees are so polite and friendly. The store is exceptionally clean. The layout of the store makes sense. I wish they would bring back the senior discount and have their Buy 1 Get 1 sales more often. I especially love that this is a family-owned American business and that they buy local.

Shopping at the Stafford Springs store is always a great experience! My young children and I always feel welcomed and at home by the friendly employees with their bright smiles! A special thanks today to the sushi department and sandwich shop for the delicious dinner on this hot summer day!

Decent grocery store considering it is the only one in town. Shelves are typically neat and fairly well stocked. Customer service is almost always good. Not a great selection of produce beyond the basics, and prices are quite high compared to other stores in surrounding towns. Still, if you need a few items in a pinch and don't mind paying slightly higher prices, it's a good store.

Big Y is a good experience with employees every time. I'm short & there's always someone willing to help me. Today I couldn't reach the cereal & couldn't find a non stick baking pan. Both times an employee was courteous & happily helped me.The very nice cashier waved at me to come over to alert me that her line was open & also noticed I had a hole in the 5lb. bag of rice I bought. The pleasant little female bagger got a replacement for me.The bathroom is always clean too.I was so pleased with my shopping trip today!

It's another grocery store, had one very bad experience a while back and yet still come here. Prices are decent(considering it's connecticut) and the employees are better in vernon/manchester line then tolland.

Very large, mostly food, store with a wide range of food items from standard brands to local businesses. Produce is very fresh. Worker staff are always friendly and helpful. Also, in this building is a pharmacy for prescriptions and various vaccinations.

I want in for a grinder lunchtime on Monday October 2 only to be told they were out of Genoa. How can a grocery that has a deli be out of Genoa for the lunch rush?

Big Y was so much better when it used to be a mom and pop store

Profiled while using self checkout. Maybe men with long hair aren’t common in Stafford, and that’s why the self check out worker assumed I was stealing. Don’t shop at this Big Y unless you like to be judged and treated like a common thief rather than a valued customer.

Always a good experience. Only gripe here is their catering/party menu isn't available online so you HAVE to call to see what's available and what the pricing is. I feel like if this menu was properly advertised it would be a good deal more popular.

We went here while we were away on vacation. This was the first Big Y I've been to. I found it resembled Market Basket more than Stop and Shop. We found everything we came on for as well as some other items we had not seen elsewhere. Unfortunately the nearest Big Y to our home is almost 30 miles away. We will shop at a Big Y again should the occasion arise.

lots of selection and clean with very helpful staff. Many people say it is more expensive than going out of town and that may be true but it sure is convenient to have here in town.

Good clean store, helpful employees, but produce can be expensive. I once bought a 3-pack of bell peppers for $6, which is just ridiculous to me, inflation aside.

Surprised that anyone shops here at all. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS and they are still living in this 1990's version of shopping where everyone is deceived by "savings" and "clubs". No savings at all compared to other stores with the same or similar products. Prices are marked like we are all idiots, signs say "savings" but if you look at actual unit prices they are totally deceptive.Yay my oranges are 4 for 5...oh wait they are always 1.25 a unit...so where's the savings listed on the sign, that's exclusive to my silver savings card?

Small place. Not like whole foods layout. The staff is what makes this place. All helpful and most important...it's clean. That's the staff that takes care of business. Thanks to Angela at the customer service desk and last time it was Jake? Wirey headed kid at the service desk. No fooling around getting it done. Thanks!

Since reorganization of this store products are easier to find as like products are categorized with related products. Employees are very helpful and friendly and store has a hometown atmosphere. Size of store is more than adequate and doesn't require a lot of walking.

Ok as far as Supermarkets go, they are ok. This location is clean and well stocked and the customer service is above average. Here comes the but, they have limited if any offerings for certain brands, anything from tea bags to tiolet paper, if you a brand your loyal to, do your research, they may not carry it. Secondly, dollar for dollar, Big Y is generally more expensive if most items food wise, and wildly more expensive on non food.offerings, which happened to be displayed everywhere around the.store.

This store is good in a pinch but is a real financial strain if doing your regular shopping. Their produce is often on the turn and is rarely all out before 9AM. I often find expired goods on the shelves, too. Their pita, whether in the bread aisle and by the deli, is almost always expired. I don't even look at it anymore. Just last week I bought a package of cornmeal without checking the expiration date and only realized it expired LAST SPRING after I had opened it and put it in a canister at home. Their parmesan has been sitting on a display moldy for at least three weeks. I know this because I wanted to buy a piece several weeks ago and saw the mold then. It was still sitting there, molding away, this morning. Their floor staff is usually very helpful and friendly but some of the older checkout clerks are on the surly side--I'm happy they opened the self checkout so that I can do it myself.

Not my primary grocery store, but I still go often. The buy one get two free sales are often a fantastic deal, and the pizza is great for feeding a largish group of people. This particular location has a more upscale atmosphere than I normally associate with BigY but the lighting was a bit dim for my tastes. This location also puts an emphasis on their demos and specialty departments on the edge of the store. I just got some food from the wing bar the other day, and while I wasn't blown away by the freshness or quality, it was still hot, and hit the spot.
