Walgreens in Canton closed down and my prescriptions were transferred to Walgreens in Avon. The staff are professional and courteous. I did have a issue on my Doctors end with a prescription and Walgreens handled it in a timely manner.

Constantly out of stock, inconsistent pricing where I am sure they overcharged me to retaliate for me complaining about repeated incorrect script filling. Unable to take a note to prevent substitutes. Overall, if this was an independent store it would be out of business.

Easily the rudest pharmacy staff I’ve ever dealt with. Completely unwilling to help, even if you have literal instructions from a doctor or manufacturer on what THEY have to do if something isn’t right.

Please for the love of all that is holy close this pharmacy!!!!!! I can’t begin to explain every mistake and negative experience at this location. Every negative review is true and then some. Also the heavy set tall girl with badly dyed red hair is clearly in distress even being there (pharm tech) and she’s awful. New manager/pharmacist every day the turnover is unreal. Always out of stock, doing partial refills due to their own negligence, disorganized, chaotic. Don’t forget you will never be able to call them and get a human on the phone - ever. Even when I tried to have cvs transfer me from here they tried for 3 days multiple times and no one ever answered then they get disconnected. I don’t think anyone there has any sort of organized process for doing their literal licensed jobs. Also they randomly close the drive thru way before closing because of how bad it is. And don’t ever expect your meds to be filled on time it takes them days extra than anywhere else. And to my earlier point, if you need your meds transferred you’ll have to go in person and have them call where you want it to go due to their lack of picking up any phone calls. Never ever go here - they truly need to shut the pharmacy down. Pure and utter chaos

This place is a nightmare. I’ve been going for months and have held off leaving a negative review but I’ve just yet to have anything close to a positive experience. Their drive up window is filthy and given that the pharmacy at least is a healthcare area, that’s a problem. Every person who works there looks miserable and can’t spare you a smile, never mind a please or thank you. After waiting at the drive up for several minutes without being acknowledged, I went inside and let the tech know that I’d been waiting a while. In a voice dripping with resentment, I was told there was a button I needed to push to alert them to my presence. I mentioned I’d never seen or heard of that before, and was told “everyone knows to push the button.” Maybe some signage would help? Or a smile and apology? Or some glass cleaner?I recommend going to the Walgreens up the road in Canton if you are looking for any of the above. They are always friendly, prompt and professional, but unfortunately have limited hours and stock.

This pharmacy sucks. They're slow, always seem short staffed, and make absolutely no effort at customer service. I've had a number of negative experiences here, but this last one really upset me. My doctor sent over a prescription in the morning. I called to check the status around noon, and the robo-lady said it wasn't ready yet. I went there after work to pick up the prescription, thinking it would surely be ready by then. Instead, they told me it's out of stock, and the truck won't come until Thursday at 5pm (this was Tuesday). They also said there are shortages, so they *might have it Thursday - come and check after 5pm!Ridiculous that they didn't call me right away to let me know that they didn't have the medication. I needed it that day so I wouldn't run out, and I could have found another pharmacy that has it in stock. Also - even if the truck won't be here until Thursday at 5, surely you'll know on Wednesday whether you can get the medication! Right? So what they were saying is, "you're going to have to wait 2 days, and MAYBE we'll have it, and you won't find out until Thursday night - then if we don't get it, you'll have to figure out what to do on Friday." Any good pharmacy would have called me Tuesday afternoon so I could have done something about this, and then let me know Wednesday morning if they weren't going to have the medication on the next truck.The next day (Wednesday), I called around and found a pharmacy that had the medication in stock (now out of my medication). Unfortunately, my doctor is off on Wednesday, so he couldn't transfer the prescription for me. I did some googling, and CT law allows pharmacies to transfer an unfilled prescription to another pharmacy. So I decided to call Walgreens and ask them to transfer the prescription. The woman on the phone told me they couldn't do that. I said, "yes you can. I just looked it up. They changed the law. You are allowed to transfer it now." She said, "It's store-specific. We don't do. Ok? Sorry."This is the WORST pharmacy I've ever used, and they don't give a s*** about their customers. Don't ever go here. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Worst pharmacy staff I have ever encountered, refused to fill a script because he could not read my Dr's handwriting and refused to call him to verify; thankfully, it was not a time-sensitive request and I was able to get it filled at CVS, but someone else may not be so lucky.Go literally anywhere else.EDIT: The cashier gave me a friendly greeting when I entered, which is great, but my review is still 1 star (5 stars to the cashier, -5 stars to the pharmacy)

I have had numerous negative experiences at this location over the years, but the last was the straw that broke the camels back. My wife had open heart surgery at Hartford hospital on June 14th 2023. It was a tough recovery and she suffered a small stroke that kept her in the hospital an extra week. The day she was discharged we had to stop at this Walgreens location to pickup her pain medication. I pulled into drive up window and rang the bell. It rang several times and then a “click”. I trued again. Ring, ring, ring…”click” I tried once more“SIR WE SEE YOU, WE WILL BE WITH YOU WHEN WE CAN!”A simple “ be right with you” the first time would have been nice, & not difficult for the Walgreens employee. FIFTEEN minutes latter and still nobody came to the window. I pushed the button. Ring, ring, ring.. “click”. I didn’t want to leave my wife alone in the car and I had just had a full knee replacement just a few weeks before and was still in some discomfort. I parked, walked in, went to back of the store and found NOT ONE SINGLE person at the pharmacy counter. This woman with LONG Gray hair walks over to counter “can I help you sir?” Yes, but first can you tell me why you keep ignoring me at the window?” “Can I help you sir?” Yes, you may, but can you tell me why I am being treated like a criminal and not a valued customer?”“ I said can I help you sir?”I asked her if saying five words was so difficult for her “I’ll be right with you”“ may I help you sir?”With that I gave in & gave her my name so I could get my wife’s meds and get her home.Being treated like this for no damn good reason is inexcusable and the exact reason mail order prescription service will all but destroy Walgreens.One last comment, I spoke to an assistant manager of some sort and he was basically one of those “yea gee, I’m sorry, ,,sorry you had a bad experience” types, that are basically just blowing you off. I hope she had more people bring her total lack of respect towards customers to Walgreens attention and is fired. Just put a sign on the window the says We don’t care and you can sit there until you run out of gas or die of old age.

Remarkably poor management. I had an appointment for vaccination today. I drove to the pharmacy to find big signs up stating "Pharmacy closed today". It takes 30 seconds to call and tell someone their appointment is canceled, but this location chose to do nothing instead. This is also a bit scary if someone needed a same day script. I guess they would be out of luck and would either have to suffer or find a way around random shut downs? I was sending short term scripts here, but will be switching back to my former pharmacy. I can't chance full unannounced closures.

While this pharmacy and sometimes front of store has a high turnaround rate which leaves many patients and customers with inconsistent service, I can guarantee you all the employees, under the great current store manager Brian, do the best they can (which is more often than not excellent). As a former employee of this store, I would like to hope everyone knows they do a great job there, and at the very least I always did my absolute best to serve the Simsbury community at this Walgreens. Much love Simsbury!!!!! ❤️

It is April 2023. Picked up medication from Walgreens in Simsbury with an expiration date of April 2023. Not "good thru" April 2023 but expired. Clerk refused to take a return or exchange of this unopened box. Changing pharmacies. To be fair, I got pretty rude. However, i think the situation could have been easily resolved with an exchange. I should not have gotten so angry. Just take my custom elsewhere. That is the only power we have. UPDATE. Staff at another pharmacy explained that the FDA announced that expiration dates of March and April 2023 are extended to year-end due to additional testing and analysis. Thats all I would have needed to hear. Walgreens Simsbury staff needs better training.

Stacy the Pharmacy Tech at the Avon location was not only unprofessional and unhelpful when I arrived for my vaccination but she was extremely rude and obviously totally unfit for customer service. Instead of thinking or caring about addressing my concerns, she was difficult and unkind. After waiting an hour and asking if she would make an effort to actually help, I decided to just go elsewhere. People nearby in line were shocked at how she interacted with me. When I went to CVS in Simsbury, the staff was warm, helpful, efficient and kind. I was in and out in minutes. So glad I switched! I told them about my experience with Stacy at Walgreens and they seemed disgusted. Night and day experience all around. I was so thankful for CVS pharmacy staff! When I spoke to the supervisor at Walgreens he did not seem very surprised and offered me a $10 coupon. Unfortunately, that will not solve the issue that is Stacy.

As stated by others here , this pharmacy is a disaster. I switched to CVS 5 years ago because of constant problems with not having my prescriptions ready or in stock , I never got a notification or any communication . It's nearby so I go there for occasional items , but even that's a hassle because they're understaffed and the lines are long. A few of the cashier's are very nice people , but they have to keep apologizing for the wait times. This store is definitely not convenient even though it's close to me! I would give it zero star's if I could...

If this review system would allow it I would leave no stars for Bushy Hill Road Walgreens! Aside from the fact that they've been understaffed for years (yes, I know Covid has caused staffing issues and other problems), there have all kinds of things that have hampered customers getting good service or service at all. My prescriptions have been mixed up, the computer isn't up to date with prescription orders, the computer allows you to make appointments for vaccines that are unavailable. I've had so many wasted trips and unnecessary waits in the pharmacy that end in frustration. Currently, the pharmacy is temporarily closed. No explanation. No information on what to do about your med's that are there waiting to be picked up....when you need them, btw. This is the 3rd time I'm unable to pick up my needed prescriptions because the pharmacy is temporarily closed. I was unable to get past the robot on the telephone to find out what the process should be to retrieve them. The robot tells me to call another Walgreens....who doesn't have my medication. The other two times the pharmacy closed it was when I had surgeries and needed to pick up the post-op pain medication the doctor ordered. Again, suffering needlessly because this location doesn't have a plan to ensure patients can get medication that is ready for them and when it's imperative they have it. Unsatisfactory! The management here and the corporation needs a problem solving team to come to this location because over time they haven't been able to help themselves or even communicate with their customers. How about a system email with instructions on what customers should do? We will be changing pharmacy to another store. I've been inconvenienced enough here.

The pharmacy is terrible.When they didn't have enough of my prescription, they gave me a partial refill and told me to pick up the remainder after the weekend (this was fine and not an issue for me). When I asked if I needed to do anything special when picking up the remainder, they said no. But when I returned, they argued with me and said they didn't owe me anything. After going back and forth, they finally said they didn't have a process for logging partial refills and that we would have to come back in a few days for it. I made them give me a note documenting what was owed to me, but when I returned a few days later, the tech said the note wasn't enough and they didn't know how much they owed me, even though it was literally on the note. I couldn't understand what the tech was telling me in the drive-through line and asked her to repeat herself. The tech then hung up on me, and the next tech curtly told me I couldn't wait in the drive through and would have to come back later.Not sure how I became the bad guy when they dropped the ball on life-saving/critical medication twice.My advice is to go to Canton Walgreens instead.

We came in for my Fiancés updated COVID booster and flu shot. We were not given the paperwork for 20 minutes. After completing the paperwork we waited another ten, saw the girl filling the syringe with no gloves and asking if that was the correct amount to the pharmacist. While waiting we overheard the staff complaining about other customers that were calling in, mimicking him in a super rude way. They seemed understaffed and flustered. They also did not give him the flu shot, only the COVID booster but we did not want to wait any longer so we left! Overall, would suggest getting your vaccines literally anywhere else(Walgreens in West Hartford was great!)

I am so frustrated with this pharmacy. The only reason I go here is because my insurance requires it. The staff are unprofessional and rude. I called in a prescription for a refill and for 3 days had their automated recording say they were "working on it." When I called to speak to a person, I was hung up on after being on hold for 30 minutes. I called back again and waited on hold for an additional 30 minutes. When I finally got to speak to someone, they kept interrupting and cutting me off. I know that they're busy, however I also work in healthcare and no matter how busy I get, I would never treat my patients like that.

So sick of this place. The pharmacy staff is rude and lazy. Twice within 2 years I needed to come pick up prednisone for asthma flare-ups and there was absolutely no pep in their step in getting the prescription filled for me. I was being friendly and patient each time, but did let them know I was having a hard time breathing. Every time I have to go to the drive-thru window too, just not friendly people. Switching over to the small Canton store.

Today my doctor sent in a refill around noon then emailed me to let me know it was taken care of. I checked the pharmacy a few hours later to find that they haven't even started it. The only thing left to do is call them, and after spending an hour and forty five minutes on hold, the person says that the pharmacist has to review it before they can start filling it and seeing they close at seven, if won't be done today.I have used this Walgreens for years but I have finally had it with them. For the last three or fours months it has been taking them two or more days to fill a prescription. More times than not I have to call them up or they won't even start filling it even though I requested a refill through the app. And it is almost impossible to get through to them on the phone unless you stay on hold an hour or two.

One person said, "The worst pharmacy in the area."Let me correct that. They are not The worst pharmacy in the area.They are The worst pharmacy on Earth!!!!They should be shut down. They say they have your prescription, then they don't, then they do. Then it will be ready tomorrow, then the next day and on, and on. The pharmacy personnel act like they dislike customers. They ignore the people waiting in the drive through and never make eye contact when speaking to customers. It feels like they want to limit the interaction to as little time as possible and with as few niceties as they can. It's very uncomfortable how unhappy they seem and how poor the customer service is. If you call the pharmacy, it could take an hour for someone to pick up the phone.

Every time I come here the experience is worse than the last. I was third in line at the drive-through and by the time I got up to the counter it was about 45 min. The 2 cars in front of me sped off without being helped. I sat in the drive-through for about 10 min before a girl came up to the window yelling at me because my windows were rolled up and she was shouting at me from across the room. Umm sorry my windows were rolled up and it’s 20 degrees outside? How am I and everyone else that left the line, suppose to know you were yelling for us when you’re not standing in the window? This place is a crazy and I’m surprised management hasn’t done anything after seeing all these comments.

Worst Walgreens ever. Understaffed and over crowded with customers. Add to that the rude employee who lambasted all the waiting customers with a tirade about no one wanting to work. There are always two or three or more cars lined up in the drive throughIf you try to call you get in a queue that has at least 2 callers ahead of you and today they told me I was caller 4Their notification website system is terrible. I was advised they were working on the third of three prescriptions and it would be ready after 11 on Saturday. It is now mid afternoon on Monday and the message is still the same.

Used to be the best pharmacy in the area.Going downhill quickly. I waited in drive thru for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged for a drop off. I was finally acknowledged and dropped off prescriptions to be filled at 8pm I was told 1/2 hour went back to pickup 10:30pm and it wasn't even started and they had many in front for mine.This has been a regular experience for the last year or so.It's not the technicians fault they are totally understaffed.

I called corporate and made a complaint because they are currently taking 2 and a half days to fill one of my prescriptions that i need. I understand needing a day and maybe a day and a half given the current pandemic but having to wait more than 2 days for medications is absolutely unacceptable!! I am now a CVS customer

It took the pharmacy 3 days to fill my prescription! I regularly drop my prescription off 3-4 days before I run out. When I questioned why it took so long to fill my prescription, the older female pharmacy tech proceeded to yell at me and complain about how "You people don't understand how many prescriptions we have to fill!" Really?! Terrible customer service. I'll never go there again!
