Good meat department. Meats are marked down Periodically. So look for the yellow tags, you can get a good deal. Also a great price for the 30" grinder.

Last week I rang up my purchase of a 6 pack of Bud Light and it rang up as $10.99 in the SimsburyCT Big Y store. The listed price in the beer cooler was $9.99. I got a manager to sell the beer to me for the advertised price. Fast forward about a week later, today, 3/24/24 at 145pm. I again ring up a 6 pack of Bud Light at the Simsbury CT Big Y and AGAIN it rings up incorrectly at $10.99, with an advertised price of $9.99. I expressed my frustration that this exact same product rang incorrectly a week ago and nothing has been done to fix it. The woman helping me said she told management a week ago that it needed to be fixed. The manager didn't make the changes and big y in Simsbury continues to screw over customers who probably don't realize they are paying more than the advertised price. Ive had at least 10 other items ring incorrectly at this big y that weren't beer, and luckily I got those items for free.

I met a friend here to go shopping together and we walked around and talked as we got our groceries. Because the store is a smaller one it has a comforting, welcoming feel to it. The isles are wide enough for both of us to walk side by side and other people can get by. The isles are very clean and organized. The store isn't huge like most grocery stores so its perfect if your just running in for a few things like milk and bread, you won't find yourself walking a mile to the back of the store to get 2 things. The produce section is very nice with all fresh produce nothing is old or rotting here. Surprisingly a big enough floral section with a beautiful selection of arrangements and gifts. Overall a really great grocery store.

The Big Y Market in Simsbury is my favorite. Aisle are always clean & organized. Unfortunately I've had a couple of issues at the Deli. The employee Jake (with a pony tail)This is not the first time he has serviced us and each time it seems to be a bother to Mr.Jake. Before we can say anything Jake rolls his eyes "I'll take your order over here." Directing us to the left. Another worker (I didn't get his name) started laughing. I found that rude. After getting our order and saying "Thank you" We never get a response of "You're Welcome" I guess he's not obligated to but it kinda sucks when you come to your favorite store and the workers seem upset to serve you. I hope we can fix this moving forward.

OK, I got a problem at the northern big Y. The old guy bagger. His thing is using every square centimeter of the bag and he fills it until it weighs about 4000 pounds. The other big pride is not using all of the bags that you provide. The woman in front of me bagged her own while he just stood there. She's onto him also.

I'm so grateful to have the Big Y in Simsbury now! Much more convenient than going to Southwick MA, although the Simsbury location doesn't always have those awesome cardboard totes like Southwick does.

Once again I was duped by them. Cage free eggs in sale for 1.99 but they don''t ring up that way because X-large eggs not included, then what was the sale sign in front of the XL eggs ? thISt happens constantly. the put a sale sign under something that really is not on sale "oh that sale does not include the 14 oz, cans only the 16 oz. cans or oh that flavor was not on sale just all the others. other than that great people great store but all done ! why would you continue to mislead your customers? well now Stop and Shop has a new customer.

I love this place. Wing bar is awesome. Had a turkey bacon panini from Jim. It was the best I ever had. People are on here complaining about the bagger..really...

Big Y has a good selection of food materials some which it can't be found at other stores. Their prices are relatively higher than other grocery stores. I go there to buy their sales and use their coupons primarily. I also use their free electrical vehicle charging for under 2 hours. So if you're looking for a specific item they would have it but be expected to pay a bit higher for the same item at another store.

The store is always clean and well stocked. The employees greet you with a smile. I had a question about cheese Nance not only answered my question but gave me several suggestions. She went out of her way to check and see if they had a particular mustard and found out that they didn't. She then showed me a few great substitutes which look to be a better choice. Hats off to Nancee! Great job!

Pretty decent selection, but nothing can justify the prices here. The registers rarely match the sticker prices. They will reflect a portion of the discount, but unless you remember or take photos of the actual sales price, it’s very typical to overpay. Their special deals like $6 sushi Wednesday’s are a joke. Customer service is a hit or miss. Overall we can’t rely on this very convenient store for our everyday groceries. Incredibly overpriced.

love Big Y! never very busy, always well stocked, and the staff has always been friendly. they don't have very many people running the cash registers, but the self-checkout always has several stations open, and the line is never very long if you need to be rung up anyway. i love getting pizza from this location, and it's always hot and ready when i arrive! i also really enjoy their bakery section. they have a lot to offer and i feel Big Y really excels in these areas. i love coming here!

The Simsbury Big Y is a very well run operation with fresh produce, great seafood, craft beer and much more. I especially appreciate the number of cashiers and baggers on staff and being checked out by a human versus a machine. The prices are reasonable. It has become my go to grocery store in the area.Update: also be sure to try the fish and chips and pizza which are amazing!

Overall a good store and well stocked / staffed. For some reason the deli folks gave away our pre-ordered sandwich platter and sides to a customer with a completely different name. No big deal, they were able to remake the platter while I wandered the store with my three children, but then they forgot the sides after all (I was unaware as my wife ordered the platter). Decent to visit and with good supplies, just double check your orders and make sure you're getting what you paid for.

This was our first time at this particular Big Y. They had a few mums and some perennials. We did a little looking around. They had the dip we love. Having it on sale was a bonus. No distilled water so will just have to keep looking. No Snapple diet mango iced tea either. Will have to look elsewhere for that too. I was impressed that they did have 4 gallon bottles of water so I may be back for that. I can see going back to see what else they may have.

It's an upscale store that has regular store prices. If you are looking for great fish and chips (like the olden days from a fish n chips shop) or other fried seafood, this is a great place to go (calamari, clams, etc), just ask at the fish counter or call ahead. There are tons of other food-to-order options at the other counters, including a delicious muffaletta.

Best produce in the Farmington Valley! ALWAYS FRESH. If you're in a hurry, don't shop on Saturdays. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

This an enormous store. With a wide assortment in every food category. I shop here instead of my former BigY that is twice as far away.It is occasionally hard to find items on my grocery list. Fortunately, the end of each aisle has a list of items and the aisle on which they can be found. My only complaint are the displays positioned in the middle of aisles which restrict customer flow. These are especially prevalent in the area of deli, seafood and meat. The staff is always helpful. Check out is efficient; with the opportunity for self checkout if desired.

Did our weekly grocery shopping here today. Store is beautiful, set up like other Big Y locations. Associates were helpful and pleasant. Because we’ve shopped at a competitor for so long we noticed prices here to be inflated. For example the brand of bread we like is made by Vermont Bread Company, type is soft white cost $3.49 at Big Y and we normally pay $2.99. My preference for grocery shopping will remain down the street.

Just want to give a huge shout to the young cashier Nick, and really all of the great staff. Twice now with a young child, wife and I struggling at the checkout line with a baby who has had enough shopping, Nick came over and opened up a register to quickly assist us. He was very polite, clearly aware and hard working, and made this dad a very satisfied customer. My wife informed me he was recently employee of the month, and I can clearly see why.

Stopped by on Friday afternoon, thought it might be crazy because of the grand opening, but it was quite manageable. We bought about $120 worth of groceries for $85. This looks like it will be a nice store! Especially liked the craft beer selection - Big Y store in Southwick doesn't even sell beer.

Beautiful new store in Simsbury, I met the store mgr while he was going his own shopping who gave me a tip on blueberries even though he wasn't working! Staff were super nice and accommodating. My new favorite place for groceries!

I have to preface this by saying I worked at a different Big Y location for 5.5 years so I can totally understand unreasonable customers and reviews.I ordered a pizza yesterday for 6:45 and showed up to pick it up at exactly 6:45. I talked to a pizza shop employee with blonde hair and gave him my name, the type of pizza, and the time I was there to pick it up for. He told me it’ll be a few minutes which is totally fine.I waited in front of the pizza shop the entire time while this guy was also there in the front. At some point while I was talking to my friend, he apparently took the pizza out of the oven and never told me (there were several pizzas in the oven). We even looked at each other a few times but I didn’t want to be “that customer” who bothers the employees every few minutes asking “is it ready yet”. I assumed maybe they were late in putting it in the oven so I waited. After maybe 15 minutes a different employee (tall, dark hair) asks me if I needed anything and I told him I was waiting for a pizza. He gets me a box off the oven and that’s when I learned it was already ready. Thank god for that employee.Like I said, I worked at Big Y for years. I get it. But what more do you need if not a baby sitter when I show up on time, give you all the information you need, and then patiently wait to be called? I know if I was in his position and someone bothered me about their pizza, then in my head I’d be like “dude I will tell you when your pizza is ready, calm down”. But I guess this guy actually needed that.Pizza ended up getting cold (but really good, so kudos to that).Store is beautiful, everyone else was nice, and pizza was good. But that dude with blonde hair needs to do better, lol.

It’s always nice to be one of the only customers in the store bright and early and even better when the store is super clean and the crew is stocking shelves and prepping food. I love this store for its selection and the quality of the groceries. It makes grocery shopping during the pandemic less stressful.

Beautiful store but they are not on top of Covid precautions! I was there twice yesterday...first time there were two women shopping without masks and employees were passing by them and never said anything. The second time one of the managers had his mask down in front of the store. This is not the first time I’ve seen mask issues at this store!!! Nice store but I won’t be back...they don’t get it!!!👎
