I have worn eye glasses since I was in kindergarten and have had countless experiences with eye doctors. Dr. Diaz was by far the best I have encountered. Unlike other offices, she did not have a 20 minute timer, but rather treated me like I was the only patient she had scheduled all day. How many doctors do you know that asks about the loved one you just lost or your remembers your beloved pet's name? Even more terrific than her bedside manner was the eye care she provided with her state of the art equipment. And the eyewear! This is the place where excellent medical care meets compassion and chic. Check out her East Haven office too -- it has a modern-vintage vibe

Had the weirdest eye doctor experience. The girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. But then I have my eye appointment, it is a different doctor than expected- which is fine, but she kept trying to tell me I should be having headaches due to my vision and that I have a lazy eye- which I’ve never noticed or have been told (I’ve been going to the eye doctor since I was in elementary school). Then out of no where she goes “let me just update my colleagues on zoom”. I had no idea she was even on zoom- yes I should’ve asked why but I was just so caught off guard. The guy at the front desk was rude and seemed inconvenienced at everything. When I asked if they had my trial contacts in stock they said no and didn’t even look to see if they had them. An hour later I get a call saying they do have them and I can come back to get them. I went here last year and loved the staff/care I received but not sure I will be returning for my visit next year.

Had my eye exam done twice there and ordered several pair of glasses which was a wonderful experience. Doctor seems very competent and explains all steps and result of the exam very well. The front desk co-worker is super nice and accommodating. My computer glasses needed some more power which meant the brand new lenses needed to be replaced which they did for free. Would highly recommend this place.

Dr. Diaz was wonderful- spot on. Truly a professional. I'm giving this office only two stars because of the very unprofessional shady AF treatment I received by the administrator at the front desk. I order glasses through their office but when I picked them up, they were clearly not the pair of frames I had selected. I told the young man that I did not recognize the frames as the ones I had selected and he replied "that's because you were dilated". In other words I couldn't see well enough what I was doing and what I was looking at to be able to tell the these were not the same frames i ordered! Which I found very offensive , dismissive, generally all around poor customer service. I returned today Monday after picking them up on Friday to tell him that I I hated the glasses. He made no inquiries on my complaint, offered no information on returns or refunds - nothing but the statement that" I should just start wearing them all the time and that they will grow on me." For $240 I feel like I should at least you like them. I can't help it feel like I'm being scammed, not by the physician , but by the young man at the front desk who sold me.:(

I have been going to Dr. Exerts office in town for many years and needed a change. Other than a bit of a cold reception and the fact that I did really, really like the previous owners, everyone wound up being absolutely kind and very generous making it feel like I was with people who truly cared for my well being. In addition, each person worked hard to make sure it was a cost effective visit between double checking my insurance coverage (totally could've just agreed when I needed an extra test done when I insisted that "if it were that important of a test no worries I'll pay out of pocket if needs be") to faxing my results to a specialist with whom the information would be very useful in future care. With that, I did not feel as if they were being pushy to sell me very expensive frames that I wasn't 100% loving. (Dilated pupils & sunlight were not helping my cause either) No hesitation in printing my prescription and inviting me to "look elsewhere or come back at another time to make the final decision." In the end, I did not give 5 stars due to the cold reception I received upon arrival and yappy dog who's owner was the main doctors pet. Sorry, I am more of a "see and not hear" type of dog person especially in a professional setting. Thank you and I will be returning along with spreading the word about the practice to friends, family and acquaintances.
