I enjoyed Lenny and Joe’s so very much. The staff working there are so friendly! I ordered baked stuffed shrimp and it was truly out of this world. The stuffing is very flavorful and light. I also ordered the boiled red potatoes and Cole slaw and both were yummy! The only thing stopping me from a 5 stars is the atmosphere. The restaurant is clean yet is it worn and somewhat dull and tired looking. The bathroom could use a facelift too! That being said, I will visit L&Js every time I visit CT!

This place never disappoints. Been coming here year after year and I still get the same quality meal at every visit.The scallops are my favorite. Always so sweet and delicious. Thanks for being a Madison landmark I can count on when I visit.

Not a bad restaurant in the sense of atmosphere and service. A bit on the ridiculous side that you were served at a table, a drink was served and refills were charged at the same as an original order for a drink. Might be nice if the refill was at a minimum less than the original you ordered. Food was decent. The lobster roll was alright. Lobster was cooked well, but for the price at least expects an actual roll (not a giant piece of toast grilled into a taco-ish shape) and a little more lump like meat. The lobster was a little more like shreds of meat. Atmosphere was pretty neat, I can see why it’s busy with locals and tourists.

Whole clamsThe batter kept falling off – as soon as I picked up a clam. The clams were different in size. The big clams on the top tasted wet and soupy, and the small ones were crispy but only if the batter was still clinging on to them.Hot DogThis hotdog was cooked on a skillet, and it tasted undercooked. I prefer a hotdog cooked on an open flame.$32 approx$4 tip$36 totalI will not be going back for a very long time.

We had lunch and ate outside at Lenny and Joe's Fish Tales! The calamari was perfectly crispy and incredibly flavorful. We also tried the Fish Tales dinner, which was a generous portion and left us completely satisfied. The variety of seafood on the plate was impressive, and everything was cooked to perfection. The best part was that there was plenty of food to share among our group. The service was attentive, and the ambiance was cozy. I would highly recommend Lenny and Joe's for seafood lovers!Kid-friendliness: A carousel for kids!

Ice Cream Shack! We went to Lenny and Joe’s just for ice cream and had their special vanilla chocolate swirl with added fudge. We ate it in seconds.It’s outdoor seating, plenty of picnic tables around. Two ice creams about $11, cash only. Not the fanciest place but pretty good for quick outing and on budget.Plenty of parking too.There is carousel for kids.Next time planing to try seafood.

I've been coming to Lenny & Joe's for years. Their food is always fantastic! I tried their soft shell crab special. I've never had soft shell crab before but let me say I will definitely have it again. The venue is not overly fancy and kid friendly. Seating inside and outside. L & J know how to do seafood right, especially their fried foods. Thanks for always doing a great job!

My wife and I have made it a point to eat at this restaurant the last few times we have made the trip down to Madison. On this latest visit, I ordered the clam strip dinner, and I thought it was excellent: fresh tasting clams with a light tasty coating. The fries, coleslaw and sauces were good, too. My wife also enjoyed her scrod dinner. Good, friendly service. All at a reasonable price. I recommend this place.

Always love coming here as seafood quality is extremely fresh. Huge venue with quick service. Portion sizes are rather large too so plenty for leftovers. I enjoyed the crab cakes as well as the lobster roll

I've been a Lenny and Joe's fan since I can remember and have gone to all their existing and previous locations. Today after debating where to eat I told everyone Joe and Lenny's Madison would be the perfect choice. We ordered a large amount of food including lobster bisque, fried calamari,fish and shrimp. Everything looked ok but it wasn't, the food was bland and lacked flavor and texture and to be honest it was an oily mess. I will rate this particular experience 2 stars because of my past experiences with other items on the menu but today the food and experience was truly not good. I look forward to editing this review next time I visit Lenny and Joe's.

Lenny and Joe's has always been my response whenever someone asks what my favorite restaurant is, but now the quality has gone down so far that it's no longer recognizable.The order of shrimp from my last visit had the breading completely fallen off the shrimp- some pieces looked like shrimp cocktail. The shrimp itself tasted like it was reheated and not served fresh.A real shame as this used to be the best seafood in the state.

Stopped in for a late lunch before heading home from the beach. Loved the covered outside seating and ability to order outside. My daughter had the kids fried fish. I had a small bite and it was good. She ate all of her fish. I had a salad with lobster meat ontop. I was surprised at the generous portions of meat. There were 2 claws and 2 small whole tails. The tails were a little dry but the claws were excellent. I wish there was a regular cold lobster roll on the menu and they only gave us one fork for 2 meals. We headed around the back and got some ice cream before leaving. The soft serve was delicious and very stiff so it didn't melt as quickly on a hot day. My daughter tried a soft serve cone for the first time and loved it!

This is one of the best seafood places I've ever been to. The experience starts with you ordering at the counter and then waiting to pick up your food. There's a ton of seating and the service is fast pace. The clams I had melted in my mouth, the lobster roll the table had was buttery and delicious, and the clam chowder was good, but please be aware it's Rode Island styled which is thin and more milk like instead of New England styled which is creamy. Overall great experience and highly recommended.

This place is awesome. Best fried oysters and clam bellies around. They also have the best hot lobster roll around (roll toasted perfectly and never soggy). I go every chance I get.Great happy hour (50 cent oysters anyone?) and beer selection.The bar is fun; the outdoor seating is great; service is always fantastic. It's right on the water.Great bang for your buck. Portions are good; prices are fine. For once, you're not getting screwed by a seafood place.I'll be back soon. Looking forward to trying the hot crab roll.

What you need to know about L J's fish tale is theyre no nonsense, no gimmicks, just straight to the point freshly executed summer seashore fare.The lobster roll didn't even get pictured it was so buttery salty good, ridiculously fresh and an absolute hit.The fried chicken sammich had a mild batter w/ a nice crisp fry and the corn salt tater combo of sides I went with just felt new england clam boil-esque.This place is a gem and worth a stop or two if lobster is a thing for you. There drinks could be a lil better but who's really focusing on that tbh.

What is there not positive to say?! Plenty of seating, parking & trash receptacles (which are emptied frequently), clean area, BYOB, FRIENDLY HARDWORKING PLEASANT staff always willing to answer questions & offer help, ATM fee refund up to $1.50! (Where have you EVER seen this?!) Carousel for kids & ICECREAM! FANTASTIC menu and everything is delicious! The prices are very reasonable. FAST efficient service. Pleasant atmosphere. They even try to accommodate food allergies.

Although they have the traditional fried fish at the beach, we were pleasantly surprised that there were food choices that were broiled or sauteed, not too salty and certainly plentiful. New England clam chowder was surprisingly good, and finally a chowder without bacon. Soft shell crabs were nice, only dish that wasn't very large. Scallops and shrimp dish with brown rice and vegetables was quite good and there was plenty to eat. Salmon was large and the soy ginger sauce was good according to the person who had it. After you get seated (lots of outdoor picnic tables), someone from your table goes up to one of two windows to order. The line wasn't too long when we were there, and it moved pretty quickly. Then they bring the food to your table.

A great place for a post-beach meal. The fish tacos with coconut curry sauce and spicy aioli were really good (if a bit messy), and my pals and I all enjoyed strawberry milkshakes at the end of our meal. There are two separate ordering windows, the service was friendly, and the wait for our food was only 10 minutes.

Great service our waitress was very polite and nice. The food was pretty good nothing that blew my socks off or anything but I will say the coleslaw was one of the best I've ever had. The view is amazing from the outside seating area. All in all this place is awesome I will definitely return.
