I have been with House of Fins for more than 10 years and only have good things to say about them. The service is great and the guys are very responsible about their job. They set up 160 gallon salt water gallon tank at my place and it looks amazing. The guys from the House of Fins are always on top of the things, taking good care of my tank and making sure it is as always clean and functioning. I highly recommend the House of Fins to anyone looking for professional tank set up and a good care. These guys really know what you want and they deliver.

Been using these guys for a few years now, and they never fail to impress. Their livestock is often plentiful, diverse, and intriguing. I can always feel much more confident in the health of specimens from here as well as a lower chance of pest and disease. I have been able to run my tank without a quarantine because House of Fins does well with fending off nasties. I use both the store and service department, and each has great customer service. They are very accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. This is the place to go!

I don't spend the most money there, so I'm certainly not one of their most important customers, they just make me feel as though I am. Peter, Joe, Kevin, Cameron, well, just everyone is ready to answer questions and offer the best advice. A knowledgeable staff, quality products and great livestock.I've tried the rest. House of Fins is the best. Go there. You will thank me.5/2/2021) Just when you thought your House of Fins overall experience could not get any better, they go above and beyond to blow your mind! I upgraded my tank form a 29 to a 65 gallon freshwater set up. Aga and Peter (The A Team) delivered the tank, stand, new substrate, rocks, and plantings. In three hours the old tank was taken down and the new set- up was in place. Within four hours the water was crystal clear. Sensational is the only way to describe the experience. I cannot say enough about about House of Fins and the ultimate hobby experience they provide. If tropical fish is your hobby, go to House of Fins.

I can't say enough good things about the House of Fins. Yes, the prices are higher than you may find at another shop, but you get what you pay for.The staff from sales to installation/maintenance and even the office are really fantastic. Professional, knowledgeable and easy to engage with regardless of how much experience you have. The livestock is healthy and they get amazing specimens. The staff help problem solve and care for their customers tanks as if they were their own tanks. If you haven't been there - you must check it out!

Let me start this off by saying that we were having issues with our tank and they have been helping us. But the super start during this whole issue is Kevin he is awesome he actually took the time to make us understand what is going on in the tank and what needs to be done. He is truly a professional and dedicated to make the customer happy and to have the fish stay healthy. I would totally recommend going here hands down

STAY AWAY from House of Fins! I purchased an aquarium from them, but it arrived completely damaged. The tank was cracked, the glass was shattered, and the water was leaking out. It was a complete disaster and they refused to take responsibility or offer any assistance to resolve the issue. It's beyond disappointing that a company would be so careless and negligent, especially when it comes to shipping fragile items like aquariums. They made the process of getting help extremely frustrating and time-consuming. I cannot express how disappointed I am with House of Fins I was beyond upset. They were unhelpful and dismissive. It's clear that they don't value their customers or their reputation, and that they have no interest in providing quality service. I strongly advise against shopping at House of Fins. They have shown a complete disregard for their customers and have provided a terrible customer experience. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and shop elsewhere for your aquarium needs.

Very beautiful displays, came during a time they were restocking, A LOT of new fish shipped so they always seem to have something new. They didn’t have the fish species I wanted so they offered to try and get them in and call me when they arrived. Very helpful! I will come back again.

Anyone who likes fish, has fish, etc. should visit this store at least once in their lifetime. After that, you'll probably want to go back!Not only does House of Fins have an AMAZING selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish (& other creatures) - they also have fantastic employees!I've only been in twice and both times an employee has spent time answering ALL of my questions (probably hundreds of them), explaining setups that I didn't know about, etc. Truly, phenomenal customer service!!!Can't wait to go back!

I am surprised that I have to make this review. However, I have spent days emailing, texting, and calling House of Fins. I made a small purchase ($87 with shipping), paid through PayPal on July 10th, 2023. I received my PayPal receipt with all information. I never heard a confirmation of my order, delivery status, notification of a problem...it was if I didn't exist. I was to receive my product in 2-3 days. My communications have remained unanswered...no return call, text or email. Hopefully PayPal will reimburse me and perhaps House of Fins will respond to their communications. I never had an unpleasant communication..I have received zero communications. .

It's unfortunate that I live in an area where local fish stores not named Petco/PetSmart are non-existent nowadays. However, even with the 45 minute drive to Greenwich to check out House of Fins, it's still well worth the trip.I've only been here a few times picking up fish/plants here and there, but even with them specializing more in saltwater than freshwater, their livestock has always been superb. Whether it's the lack dead fish in any of the tanks, how healthy the fish look, how lush all of the plants/corals are, you can seriously tell the workers here know what they're doing. I complimented the person I worked with on his knowledge of what they had in store and his response was, "everyone who works here is a hobbyist first." That's the answer you want to hear when shopping in a LFS. A++ customer service.Even if you don't end up purchasing anything at House of Fins, the visit is usually enough of an experience to convince yourself to come back again. Can't recommend enough.

Impressive store in all respects. The tanks were pristine; the fish, invertebrates, and coral appeared well cared for; and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The coral tank arrangements in particular speak for themselves.

House of Fins is a great aquarium store. Small in footprint maybe but they more than make up for it with quality service and selection. We were helped by Peter who was extremely helpful and friendly. And I have to say, his knowledge on the fish and other related areas was extensive and free flowering. In a time where it seems like so many stores act like they are doing a favor for you by letting you buy something, this was a fun surprise. I will recommend them to anyone in the market. They have gained a loyal customer.

I get the pleasure to deal with them both professionally and personally and whether it's for business or pleasure they are sure to go the extra step to make it an enjoyable experience. I get to work with many aquarium stores and House of Fins always has the most amazing fish and inverts compared to anyone else. Rare fish that are scarcely seen in the hobby readily available and top notch customer service to go along with it. I recommend them to any aquarium hobbyist out there, beginner to advanced.

I have been a customer at House of Fins for several years now. This is my hobby, so I go to several stores to look, but I always buy my fish at House of Fins. The fish and corals are always healthy and the sales staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help. As other reviewers have said, they can be more expensive than other shops, but the quality and advice are well worth the premium!I do my own maintenance, but have used their service department while I am away or I don't have the time to do water changes or filter changes. My experience with the service department has been great as well.I can't say enough about House of Fins- my experience has been great and I can't wait to see what they have the next time I go in!

Just want to give a shout out to The entire team at House of fins for there knowledge and dedication!Never disappointed with selection and quality.Went in with specific criteria for a few new fish in my reef tank, Toby, as always, was beyond helpful and patient with me and recommended what are now my favorite fish!!! Cameron is my go to guy, very genuine guy who knows his stuff and always there to help, he even calls to check in with me to see how my tanks going. I must say they are expensive & you can probably get a lot of products for cheaper online, the knowledge and friendliness is worth the cost to me.

I had a great experience at this small store over the weekend. I did a "weekend tour" to take a look at some fish shops and this place really stood out. Incredible creatures are to be found at this location. I wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often. Peter and Dan were a pleasure to talk to and I appreciatednthe information provided. When I get my ultum tank up and running I hope to make the trip back down to this place to pick up some plants and fish.

Inspired by another reviewer to post a similar experience:Healthy fish, beautiful store, great staff and well informed! I'm a freshwater guy so I was mildly disappointed with the quantity of freshwater tanks but upon further inspection, there was some very interesting livestock available.What you absolutely must do is cross shop your non-livestock goods. I purchased a frozen food and didn't realize the list price was $21! I'm talking about a Hikari food. This is not some unique, hobbyist-made item. Hard to find, I'll admit but this is exorbitant. I found the same found at a different LFS for $7. There's no excuse for pricing like this. The livestock is expensive too but I didn't see a single dead fish and the live ones were all healthy. I purchased a couple and they've been great so far.They're also an authorized vendor of UNS and they had a piece available that had been out of stock at all the online retailers for just a few bucks over retail (think shipping costs baked in). I didn't shop any other UNS pieces but this might also be an exception to the rule I mentioned.Long story short, come visit and take a look. The store is beautiful and the fish are healthy. Great service but don't buy anything without a quick google search. At these prices, it becomes hard to support LFS's. 300% price increase is not acceptable.

Best fish store I have ever been too. Not only do they have an amazing variety of saltwater and fresh water fish but the staff there are educated with fish care. They truly care about the fish and it shows by how nice their tanks are kept clean. Everyone was extremely polite and always made sure any questions I had were answered. I will definitely continue to go back there.
