Traditional hardware store. A bit more expensive than Home Depot but you can actually get help from knowledgeable staff. It's nice to quickly find a knowledgeable sales clerk. Great to quickly find an item without having to walk for blocks. Try parking behind CVS if Sound Beach Ave is busy.

Recently bought an EGO POWER+ 56-volt 21-in Push Cordless Lawn Mower 6 Ah (Battery & Charger Included) from Feinsod Hardware in Old Greenwich, CT-with the special offer sale price, it was cheaper than any of the box stores and they delivered it, FULLY ASSEMBLED, demonstrated how it worked, and took the packaging boxes with them. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Also, when you purchase something there and give them your contact info, they send COUPONS that help defray the cost of shopping there. So, at the end of the day, you get great service AND (with the help of the coupons) prices that rival any other store!!!

A definite example of your old time neighborhood friendly hardware store. The place is not big but boy do they have everything. The staff is eager to assist and help in any way they can. A big difference from going to Home Depot. Worth the trip to get all the little items you need without getting lost in the crowd. Keep up the good work!!

Came there to buy gas grill (they had the one I wanted when other larger stores had it out of stock). Very friendly, pleasant, quick experience. Good advice also (bought accessories as well).

Do us all a favor and ask for Renzo, the man knows who is who and what is what . I would not be surprised if he could stop a bullet with his teeth while riding a jackhammer to work. Not a big store but very inviting and cozy , it’s not so intimidating to us average handymen. Please support your local places not the big name stores. I pledge to do this myself to build a better community for my growing family and local area.

What a great hardware store, service you dream of. Renzo was incredibly helpful as I tried to do a DIY window replacement but had no clue what I was doing, he gave me tips and helped my figure it out - will always come back here. Had everything I needed tool wise too. Great spot!

Been coming here since it was Sterling Watts Hardware. They still have the right stuff.Jay -if that's really you- you'll see this edit.I've known you at the Port Chester & Rye stores since the early '80's.It's rare that you'll walk into a hardware store and find the owner out on the floor helping customers and offering wise advice. Your warm smile and friendly encouragement show your passion for the job.You Sir, are an icon!While I'm a tradesman, the Old Greenwich location has limited floor space and must cater to the community, you do a tremendous job of keeping a diverse inventory, and helpful staff.So, most but not quite all that I might need...It's always a pleasure doing business here.

I walked in and was shadowed immediately , I needed to purchase several items but it was very hard for me to do so with an employee breathing down my shirt . He said to me “listen hurry up “ I responded saying it’s hard for me to focus with you shadowing me so closely . I addressed his shadowing of me with a “ listen there lots of customers who are confused and lined up asking questions to the one other employee . He said that I was a more important matter and needed to be shadowed . After about 5 more minutes he said listen if your not buying leave I told him I was buying and that it would take me time to think about what I needed with breathing down my shirt . Despite doing nothing wrong at all he told me to leave , I protested but finally gave in and left . Directly told me that I can’t purchase certain items that I had purchased often in the past . I loved this hardware store for its easy walk in walk out feel and the ability to get certain items other stores did not provide . The employee attitude has forever changed my perspective on this store .

Feinsod hardware probably has one of whatever it is that you need. They have a helpful staff, who know the locations of a multitude of items in the store. The staff always includes someone who is definitely a do it yourselfer, and can provide some insight, suggestions and advice. There are no extra charges if they order something for you; and unusual or very specific items usually arrive in a few days. Really easy in and out of the store. Not miles of walking to locate a simple thing. Feinsod's is an Old Greenwich gem.

Horrible customer experience from the owner..refused a exchange of incorrect items purchased from another ACE shop...he refused because he couldn't sell it and made disparaging remarks of the other ACE store owner ..then said he'd take them back at a 70% discount even though I was buying new items from him..go to home depot, lowes or true value..better service

Why do you need a local hardware store? Pick up a replacement leaf rake, aerator for kitchen sink and replacement AC filters ... all in one easy to reach location. Jay Feinsod does a great job of having a diverse inventory, and staff always willing to help.

Traditional old fashioned hardware store. Salesforce actually is knowledgeable and helpful. Pricy compared to Home Depot but it always saves a extra trip to exchange the wrong fitting item !
