I’ve been shopping at this store for 17 years. I’ve spent tens of thousands there. The one thing I love is knowing that there will be turn over with their low paid staff. There are two exceptional workers there. There’s another with a HORRIBLE disposition who clearly can’t fake it in the customer service department.

The Granby, CT Stop & Shop has been on a continuous downhill slide since the day it opened. The latest - no cashiers on duty at 9:00 pm, Tuesday March 12. I don't need to be taking someone's job away by self-checking out and packing my own bags. And if Stop & Shop is going to require that of me at least give me a meaningful discount. The greed of Stop and Shop is overwhelming.

Clean store and facility. We were able to find all of the items on our shopping list.

Old outdated hard to find some items. Local S & S good if you need something in a crunch. Staff is good to help you. Mostly all self-service. I prefer Fitzgeralds or Fresh Market for meats & to go meals. Overall, its ok for location. Quality lacks on produce & meats. Big Y hurt them by building close by.

LOVE this location, all the employees are very friendly and kind. They almost never have fruit snacks in stock but always have a great selection of crackers and cookies for the kids! Fruit is usually pretty fresh just have to check the strawberries good, have found moldy ones more often than not.

The Stop and Shop in Granby is a great place to shop for groceries. They have a vast selection of everything, and I was able to find the brand of coffee creamer I was looking for. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for groceries in the area.

As a recent transfer from NY, I have to go to numerous stores to get items I am used to.

I have a lot to unload, but let's just talk about the checkout system. It is the pits. Tap-to-pay causes machines to freeze. Having such a touchy system to weigh groceries AND BAGS causes constant problems. Be careful not to let the scanner see the barcode on produce, because that will warrant yet another visit from the assistant. I tried doing the self scanning for a while, bagging as I go, but I guess they thought I was stealing because I had my bags checked repeatedly. Gave up on that. The coupons they print at the register often fail to scan. In short, checking out is a huge pain if you do it often like I used to.I was a loyal customer and was a little put off when Big Y opened nearby. Stop & Shop implemented some changes to try and keep up . Now I go there about half the time.Gas points almost make it worth it. I save a lot that way. And the pharmacy is wonderful. Also, I love all of the store's hourly staff. I'm not big on posting negative reviews for fear that they will hurt someone's business, but this Stop & Shop really needs to up its game.

Has a decent range of products. Most of the workers are very friendly and approachable. The store could use a massive renovation. The Windsor stop and shop is three times as nice with a happier vibe and better products - for me it's worth the extra 10 minute drive instead of going to this one. Shame because the staff are nice at this stop and shop.

The boy named Amy has to stop stands behind the customers and creep them out! It’s so unprofessional & uncomfortable to have someone stands behind you while you’re doing your purchase and make you feel that you’re doing something wrong! If he’s trying to be a good employee and get a bonus, this not the way! He’s such a creep!

The store is fine. The curbside pick up is horrible. They charge you for your order. Then you pick up your "order ". Nine times out of ten half the stuff isn't there. I ordered fruit that was completely ommited. Three different deli items that we're forgotten. I don't live close. I have to drive all the way back. People are apologetic but that doesn't pay for my time or gasoline. I'll never use there curbside service again. It's a waste of money and time. If you enjoy driving and frustration it's right up your alley.

The workers are really nice. They have a Great selection of frozen foods. Self checkout is a life saver if you need something in a pinch but don't have time to wait in a line. If you're looking for keto ice cream or ice cream in general, this is the place to go.

I always regret going to this particular location. The shelves are always literally bare. The bakery is just a joke. They have all these tables in the bakery with hardly anything to sell. A few types of muffins but that's it. And it's extremely expensive . I think I bought maybe 8 or 9 things and the total was over $80Edit to add, I agree with the other commenters below. That old lady that runs the self checkout is SO rude. She scares my son. She needs to just give it up and retire if the job is making her that upset.

Haven’t been to a stop and shop in years and decided to stop here because I needed a few things, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean and well stocked and I found everything I needed with ease and it wasn’t overly crowded at all. The staff was super helpful. I will definitely be here more often.

ANOTHER UPDATE NOV 22:Another shopping trip. 2nd time ScanIt audited in 2 trips/2 weeks. Last week it was with 3 different things & a $10 cart. The cashier said they do that because it's easier. 🤬This week, a dozen items $35. Had to check my pickles, soda, cilantro, peppers and mandarins. Another low dollar, low volume basket so audit again. That's why BigY gets 95% of my grocery dollar! Never a problem there. The Simsbury BigY is great. Clean, we'll laid out, fully stocked, friendly people (today's Stop & Shop auditor rolled her eyes when she saw me come up as "needing assistance"). Never get attitude from Big Y employees. At S&S I figure it's just part of the overall wonderful experience they provide - can't do anything about it except grin & bear it and shop mostly anywhere else.UPDATE:A month later and another trip to S&S as hope springs eternal that they'll actually fix things vs just making noises about how they value their customers. But no, another audit. Sigh. This time a half-dozen items and $25. Most expensive item was probably the box of hot cocoa K-cups. Of course the "checkout assistance required" message popped up. Nice girl comes over to audit the basket. The problem is it requires I have my card (excuse me, but I don't carry it since the app has my info) and walk over to the handheld Scan-It rack and setup the audit. Because a)they can't do that they make it their customer's problem and b) they also can't do it from the phone app so c) what's the point of the phone app. Sorry, but that's really not my problem. If you're not going to fix the algorithm that picks such high risk baskets to audit, you can incur the expense of putting my basket items back on the shelf.Off to Big-Y down the street, same items, a couple bucks cheaper even! Score one for the local team. Oh, and checkout only required me to scan a QR code on the way out. Automatically charged the card on file. Tech that works. Kudos to Big-Y.ORIGINAL DECEMBER REVIEW:Another quick trip and another audit at the self-checkout. 2 items. $12. Yeah, that needs an audit. Tired of S&S and whatever their algorithm is that they use for determining who gets audited. It shouldn't be someone who has shopped there for 40 years and who used to work there in fact. It shouldn't be someone who gets audited every few months (one month it was three trips in a row) and never gets found to have missed scanning something. Maybe it ought to be set for infrequent shoppers buying uncharacteristically expensive items. Maybe you ought not treat your customers as if they were thieves. After all we're not the ones making "mistakes" putting price labels on things or not applying coupons or discounts (all of which happens to me more than audits find me forgetting to scan something). Stock shrinkage is an employee problem, not a registered self-checkout customer one.Thank goodness for Big Y down the street and its Express Checkout where I can just scan the QR code on the way out and don't even have to wait for the self checkout lanes.

Moved to the area 4 years ago this was our main store since it was the closest. Discovered about a year ago when visiting the Kennedy Road stop and shop in Windsor the prices are drastically lower than the Granby store - for the exact same products. The Windsor store has newer carts that are not rusting like the Granby location and is much cleaner. The workers at the Granby location are wonderful, but considering how much more you pay for Granby you’d think it would at least have decent carts and a nicer store...

I always check the International section and today they had bottles of Irn Bru. With some help from a passing tall person (I'm too short to reach the back of a top shelf) I bought them all. Hopefully you get more stock in. Happy husband when I showed him my surprise purchase! 7/14/22. At the last minute Walgreens cancelled my 3rd booster shot appointment. Checked online and found that this location of Stop n Shop could accommodate me today. Very quick turnaround from going in, to being seen to. Polite, helpful staff. I would recommend this location. Only issue was that if you fill in the paperwork online that it takes several hours for it to be transferred to the store. There's only 2 pages to complete so it's not too bad but just something to be aware of.

Grocery shopping is a grind and I hate it. But when I was at the Granby S&S picking up steak and seafood for my husband yesterday, I was thrilled to watch a fun camaraderie happening between the employees working at the meat and seafood counters. Especially the guy at the seafood counter, who is a riot and a super nice person...they were all working and laughing and bouncing jokes off each other and if you think this is not important enough to write a review about then you've been sleeping through 2020 and 2021. We need the laughs and the camaraderie. I haven't smiled in a grocery store in about 150 years, but yesterday, I actually laughed and left feeling better than when I went in. Thanks for that! Husband reports the steak was awesome.

Everything is overpriced and the quality of food is underwhelming. Fruit lacks flavor and has fruit flies and is rotting or on its way to rotting. Fruit doesn't last past a day. Everything there you can find somewhere else cheaper and for better quality that will last. The only good thing in stop n shop is the employees.

I went to this Stop & Shop and I was treated very rudely by Judy I don't know what was her problem but somebody needs to do something she was very rude and disrespectful and I don't appreciate it. I do not recommend this Stop & Shop two friends or anybody else. She needs to check herself and treat people better. If she doesn't likes her job quit and find another one but don't make other people miserable because she is. Thumbs down thousand times

Terrible Service, Terrible Managers. Spoke to a guy named Jordan many times. He’s rude, doesn’t accommodate for other people, and is very unprofessional. The general manager Tony is beyond unprofessional as well, making this store one of the word establishments I’ve ever entered. Will never go back, very disappointed.

Update: ok I take back what I said earlier, I tried it again this week and it was on time. Liz was much more pleasant this time; maybe she was just stressed last week with extra orders. Will try again.Good place to get free groceries if you use their online pickup, my order was 4 hours late, they gave my order to me for free and gave me a $25 credit. One of the young girls doing it named Liz I believe was rude to me the other time I used it. I think I’ll try elsewhere for my online shopping

Not too impressed with the produce. Others have shared my experience of buying fruit and having it look close to spoiled when they got home 5 minutes or less later. Also, I ordered wrist corsages for a Father/Daughter dance that I discovered were never made when I went to pick them up.I've found other Stop N Shop locations great, just not this one.

Lots of fresh produce, good selection, affordable natures promise store brand, friendly staff and organized. However, they don't always have the dairy free options I need. They do have smart balance "cheezy" popcorn, which makes me super happy.

The employees are great here! The prepared meals woman and guy, all the Deli women and the Cowboys (blech)-lovin' butcher are all very nice! It's a smaller store so selection is a bit lower than others maybe, but it suits me 99% of the time. Only gripe is they keep taking away parking spots!! Just took EIGHT more prime spots for online pickup BS. If they don't want us to browse the store, might as well close it. It gets old hiking-in, in bad weather especially. I'm not handicapped (plenty of those spots too), but I'm not a spring chicken either. If S&S keeps pushing us farther out it's easy to go to the competition up the way, also with nice people but plenty of good parking, too.

Average Stop & Shop.....Overall its a fine store, but the food quality is lacking at points and prices are a bit higher then other stores nearby or even when you compare it to other Stop & Shops... Once in a while I see flies or fruit flies in the bread section or fruit section... Otherwise Kevin, the big dude, has been a major help to me everytime I go there!

Granby Stop and shop is the greatest place on earth, well maybe not on earth, but I curbside pick up my groceries and they always go above and beyond to make sure I get what I ordered. If they are out when you call, and they didn't sub anything for that item, they will go and grab something different for you if you ask them. Excellent service

Since covid hit, this has really been my number 1 stop to shop. I actually love the remodel & the scan as I go has made it a quick better experience. However... I can't help but notice the constant buying of expired food. I have had to return bolthouse smoothies for being well passed the expiration date (my bad for not checking at the store right). But then the pre packaged deli meat I bought was 2 months passed the best buy date. But nothing beats the jelly that we purchased yesterday, that expired 2/20/2020. Over a year passed 🤦‍♀️. Not only are we wasting money, but time for exchange. Fresh is clearly not in their moto. I also like to pack my own things as I've had them put raw meats on top my fresh produce.

Stop & shop is our go to store for groceries because of its location. They are about 6 minutes away from us. Their prices are reasonable but you have to be smart to look for the sales and they do a good job of keeping things fresh and clean. I try to save money by purchasing things on sale and waiting for items to go on sale. They have a small clearance section for slightly damaged or dented goods which I always check out every time I go to the store. They also have a small reduce dairy section and bakery day old section. Additionally they have website where you can get digital coupons to lower your cost. All in all the store is it good provider of fresh groceries.

After so many years, and the Thousands and Thousands of Dollars that my family and I have spent at this supermarket Stop & Shop in Granby, I was arrassed by the afternoon shift manager, when I stopped my car for five minutes to removed return the empty bottles to recycle center, that I buy at this establishment, I was approached by the manager who was extremely incomprehensible and arrogant intimidating me with the police, seriously for 5 miserable minutes?!?In so many years that I go to this supermarket, I have never been so badly treated. The way I was treated I won't spend another penny in this supermarket, BigY is two steps away from me.
