What a delightful surprise stumbling upon Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates during our day of adventure! Nestled away, this charming spot turned out to be a hidden gem. And let me tell you, the chocolates? Absolutely divine! They were hands down the best I've ever tasted. Hands down the best chocolate I have ever had! The apple spice truffle was absolutely to die for. The only thing better than the chocolate was the feeling of the place. The family that runs the place is exceptional! They are truly invested and proud of their chocolate, milk and cows and you can see it. Being able to go into the barn and see the cows was awesome and learning fun facts from the wall is a nice touch! I cannot recommend this place enough! Will definitely be back!

My visit to Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates with my twin teenage daughters was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene beauty of the farm and the genuine care given to the cows. As we wandered around, we were lucky enough to witness a heartwarming moment—an adorable baby cow, just one day old, alongside its mother. It was a joyous sight that perfectly set the tone for our day.The highlight of our visit, however, was undoubtedly the milk chocolate from Milk House Chocolates. I must say, it was the best milk chocolate I have ever tasted. The flavor was incredibly pure and exquisite, a testament to the beautiful and healthy cows that provide the milk. It's remarkable how the Thorn family's dedication to creating a sustainable and friendly environment for their cows translates into such a delightful chocolate experience. And to complement the chocolates, we indulged in the farm's delicious milk, which was equally exceptional.I must give a special mention to my daughters, who declared that they had tasted the best chocolate in all of Connecticut. They were enamored by the rich and fine quality of the chocolate, knowing that it came from these well-fed and happy cows. As a parent, it brought me immense joy to see them savoring such a delectable treat and appreciating the connection between the source of the ingredients and the end product.I would also like to express my gratitude to the owners of Thorncrest Farm for allowing us to capture the essence of the farm with our cameras. We were able to take beautiful and wonderful photos, particularly of the cute baby calf. It was a day filled with precious memories and a perfect way to celebrate Father's Day with my daughters.Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates truly exceeded my expectations. The meticulous attention given to the comfort and happiness of the cows is reflected in the exceptional quality of their milk and chocolates. Kimberly Thorn's expertise in crafting artisanal chocolates is on par with the greatest chocolatiers in Europe. The chocolates themselves are a testament to the unique flavors and characteristics of each cow's milk, making every bite a truly special experience.I can't recommend Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates enough. It is a local gem that combines the freshest ingredients, attention to detail, and a passion for creating extraordinary chocolates. If you appreciate the purest flavors and want to support a family farm that truly cares for its cows and products, I urge you to visit Thorncrest Farm and indulge in the delightful creations of Milk House Chocolates.❤️🍫🐄👨👧👧♾️🧘🌈❤️

What a great place to visit. Say hello to the cows, look for the longhorn in the pasture, and then get some amazing chocolates or super good vanilla milk. The folks are friendly and the products are great. Makes a nice day trip to the country.

Visiting this farm and seeing so many cows was quite an experience. The owner and the staff there proudly introduced the cows and told the stories of some of the cows as if the cows were their best friends. The barn was kept tidy. They sell fresh milk and crafted chocolate there. The vanilla milk I got was very fresh and delicious. The chocolate contains large amount of coco and is not too sweet.

What a NEAT little stop his turned out to be. Saw some dairy cows (and a newborn cow not more than two days old!) and learned some things about the dairy industry we didn’t know. Went in to the gift /chocolate shop and bought several different chocolate candies. DELICIOUS! The folks running the farm and the shop were incredibly nice!

I cannot think of a better place. Or better chocolates, frankly. Everyone was SO nice, we got to visit the ladies and learned so much about the farm. How they treat the cows is incredible, they are so cared for and the quality of their product truly reflects that. They know how to keep their cows happy!Picturesque, and humane? Yes please.Undoubtedly the best sweets I've ever had. Can't wait to return.

Super cute!! The shop is so tiny though that only a few people can be inside at once so we got kind of shouldered out and ended up not getting anything which was a bummer. The cows were so cute!!

This place is ridiculously adorable with delicious chocolates and incredibly friendly staff. The chocolate shop is teeny tiny but customers can take turns going in. The daily changing menu of chocolates includes both classics like salted caramel, and unique flavors like lavender or black pepper candied ginger.

What’s not to love about this place? I’ve never walked away from a cow barn before with the words “It smells good in here.”This place was incredibly clean, the chocolate was delicious. The milk from the cows is great to purchase in small bottles and sample, and the family cares about what they do. These guys are wonderful. Bring your kids here and teach them, bring your date here and enjoy some chocolates together, bring your friends here for a great experience and memory.

If youre local, well then you know this place and are a regular. If you're not local I definitely suggest making this place your destination for a beautiful ride through the rural farmland. This family-run farm produces fresh milk daily, and then makes simply spectacular and gorgeous chocolates with it every morning. On your way out visit the barn where you'll meet the most beautiful dairy cows you can imagine...you'll gall in love with them and their chocolates!

Connecticut is a place where people care about what they do, and connect with the history of their craft.Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolate is definitely a place which makes me proud to live in this state. Immaculately clean, happy cows, super friendly and caring owners, and well decorated too!You know it’s good when everyone waiting to buy some delicious chocolate is raving about how much they love the place. ( Flavors range from the famous lavender, to mint, raspberry, peanut butter, white chocolate, dark, and of course milk chocolate and everything in between including apricot and mocha.)They also have vanilla milk, whole milk, and others from their well cared for cows! It is simply delicious and honestly for some reason my slightly lactose intolerant fiancé can drink it! (not a medical endorsement but it’s what we experienced)Overall, delicious chocolate and milk. This is a top place to visit in Connecticut if you enjoy delicious things. Do not miss out! And if you can’t come order online, they ship.

Thorncrest is absolutely incredible, their animals are well cared for and their chocolate and milk is out of this world! I've yet to find another place that even comes close to the amazing products, customer service, and experience here at Thorncrest. You won't be disappointed by any of these chocolates. Kim and the Thorncrest family are so passionate about their work it's inspiring. Hope to visit again soon but in the meantime thank you for updating the online ordering service to personalized chocolate orders! Have an incredible holiday season!<3

Thorncrest Farm's chocolate and milk are out of this world! My intention going there was to purchase Christmas gifts for out-of-state family, but when I walked into the chocolate shop and saw the chocolates, I couldn't leave without getting some for myself. This is seriously the best chocolate I've ever had in my life - rich and full of flavor - and the presentation and attention to detail let's you know that the Thorn family are master's of their craft. This place is a little off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth a stop. I will for sure be making more trips!

This farm is exceptional. The product quality was EXCELLENT. I bought their whole milk and a few chocolates. I am a dairy enthusiast, I have taken classes on dairy quality and production, and I was impressed. The milk flavor was so clean, you could taste the quality of nutrition and care for their animals in the milk. The farm is beautiful, accessable and welcoming. The farm family were present, helpful and knowledgeable. We will be back.

Chocolates are amazing and that is not saying enough! The flavors of the coconut, root beer, pineapple, raspberry and other flavors (still eating my way through the box) in the chocolates are a punch to the taste buds in the best way possible!! Amazing quality, silky smooth and creamy milk, dark and white chocolate. Nuts and fruits covered in chocolate. 🐄🍫🥛

Wow …. There are no words that can describe how delicious Thorncrest chocolate are. I swear the moment I bit into my first chocolate ( honey cinnamon creams) I had tears in my eyes. Anyone that has the chance to visit Thorncrest farms, it’s like stepping foot on a piece of Heaven. I feel so fortunate I have had the chance to visit and enjoy the chocolate made from the milk that comes from their farm. Please do yourself a favor and visit this piece of Heaven on earth. I am looking forward to my next visit and to have the pleasure of tasting a bite of pure bliss.

This farm and the owners are amazing. Normally I can smell a farm before I see it but not here, it is clean and the animals are well cared for. When the owner can tell you what cow was milked by smelling the milk, I know this is way more than just a business for making chocolates. Then to hear what they do and how they care for the cows prove they have their animal's health in mind at all times. These are like members of their family and they can even tell you their ancestry. The store part is small with a counter full of chocolates (the best chocolates I ever had) to choose from and a refrigerator off to the side for the milk. The barn door is open so you can walk part way in to see the cows and the information board and grab a pamphlet. They also offer cheese making classes which are worth every penny!

Thorncrest is a really lovely, special place. The milk is phenomenal (try the vanilla!) and so are their chocolates- interesting flavors and great craftsmanship. My husband and I love coming back here because the farm has a charming, family vibe and you can tell that the owners really care about their cows and treat them well. I hope they will keep their friendly, personable service and attitude for many years to come.We love seeing the cows every visit - got lucky and saw a newborn calf recently. It is worth the long drive for us to get perhaps too many of their delicious chocolates and milk. If you love chocolate and prefer supporting small businesses, who treat their animals right, this is your place.

Thorncrest has some of the best chocolate that Connecticut has to offer. The difference is in their dairy. Their cows look well loved and cared for, producing milk that makes their chocolate a delicious treat for any occasion
