I come to this location to get dog training etc. I like the instructor Lindsy. I think thou that they need a better system in the groomer department, they never answer the phone and they have more than enough employees to assist with answering the phones.. it gets frustrating when your trying to make a appointment.

Great staff, they are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. Also they price match. They have a great selection of reptiles and the aquarium area is well maintained and offers a wide variety of fish. We also have our love of our life "Apollo" groomed here as well again Great staff all around

I am AMAZED. I brought my Lab mix puppy to be groomed today and I'm absolutely blown away. My pup smells so good and is the softest I've ever felt her. Leishla - I LOVE YOU THANK YOU!!! Highly, strongly recommend taking your pup to be groomed here!!!

I'd like to extend a huge heartfelt shoutout to Rhiannon, my dog's groomer! Since the very first haircut, she's been incredible,consistently delivering exceptional grooming. She listens attentively to all my requests and never fails to exceed expectations. With my anxious dog, her gentle and warm greetings work wonders, and her positivity is simply contagious. Santiago and I are immensely grateful for her presence. Thank you a million times over, Rhiannon!

This is not a criticism of the staff, who seem to be well-intentioned and polite, but when I passed the ferret cage today, it absolutely broke my heart to see these young, energetic animals confined in a small plexiglass enclosure with no enrichment or toys of any kind, no other levels to explore; one was clearly agitated, up on its hind legs and acting desperate to escape. The other just looked lethargic. I guarantee I wasn’t the only customer saddened and demoralized to see Petco keeping animals this way. I would urge the manager of this store that if you’re going to sell ferrets, please, please give them more space so it doesn’t just look like ferret prison. I will seriously rethink giving Petco my business if not, and might contact PETA and the CT Department of Agriculture to file complaints.

Store manager is fantastic, the best kept fish area of any Petco I’ve ever been to. The only big box store I feel comfortable purchasing fish from. All credit due to staff at this particular location.

I’ve never utilized Petco grooming services but we’re new to the area so I booked a service for my dog for 1:15. While driving to the location I noticed I passed by the suggested exit. Upon noticing I immediately called the store to let the groomer know, “hey I passed the exit, says I’ll be there in 4 mins tops” which would still make me directly on time. But just for clarification and not to mess with the flow. They answered after a min or two and the person initially said “he should be fine” but put the phone down to check for sure. When he “went to check” someone else picked up the phone, said “hello” and hung up. I immediately called back now getting off the exit again just as courtesy that the groomer knows. When the person from before answered he again said “hold on” and the groomer got on the phone. When she answered I explained that I missed my exit but was pulling in the plaza and it was now 1:18pm. She started with “idk he should be fine, but the issue is, I have 3 hrs to do him and another dog” As if them booking two dogs for the same slot was a fault of the customer. So because of her hesitation, I asked again “what does that mean because we’re outside, and we’ve already waited six mins just to ask you if he can be seen.” She goes “I’m not doing him today!” 🙂 Fine w me. I wouldn’t want my animal anywhere w that type of energy anyway. On to the next groomer. And I’m very accountable, as the exit miss was my own fault but the choice to double book and deny him no more than five minutes after his scheduled service I’ll never use this location for anything.

Went to get my dog some presents for her 8th birthday!! Found all her favorite treats and she got a new lamb chop toy and 3 new mini tennis balls that are a little big but she’s managing!

I feel bad for the bad rating but how do you rate someone who gave you an infestation of an invasive species bc they don’t check their bird food. I know some bags of food can have birdseed moths in them (see pictures) but they are almost impossible to get rid of with birds around. I went in the other day to get dog food and bird food and I only left with dog food bc I saw tons of bird food moths. I told the employee that checked me out and even killed on in front of her she said “yeah the store is full of them.” WHAT?! I tried so hard to not be like leaving that is the reason I had to redo my whole bird room. I’m almost $2000 in the hole on bird safe options to get rid of them to literally doing full room clean downs every day and that’s the only thing that even started to get rid of them. On a positive note all of their animals look very healthy on the floor but this petco is just letting an invasive species into our area knowingly or unknowingly, but if you don’t know them you just don’t go in the store or don’t care about flying bugs in a store with food items. I told the girl at the cash register they are an invasive species so it needs to be taken care of and she had a very confused look on her face. Look at the picture below and tell me if you want these ALL OVER YOUR HOME?! Just bc petco can’t throw away tainted food or at minimum freeze all the food to kill all the bugs and eggs. I have to freeze every bag of bird food now for 2 days to just be safe and I stopped going to this location bc of this.

Always helpful staff love the pet friendly advice given and the excellent customer and value I receive they truly care about your animal and even offer a discount vaccine clinic for people who can't afford the prices that some vets charge they go above and beyond they are more than a pets store they are family and love animal truly that's Petco for always being so helpful and accommodating.

The groomer at Petco was the consummate professional. She treated my husky as if she was (which think she is), a loving aunt. The actual groom was also very very hood.

Took my very matted pup to this location and I must say the did an excellent job!!!!Very satisfied customer and the respect they had for the animals was tremendous!!!!I sat at my car and watched how they soothed my girl by petting her and rubbing her head!!She even came up for a kiss and got one on her head!!!I was so amazed and grateful!!!

I popped in to check out their selection of live aquarium plants on a lark and was impressed. Some mild melting and wilting in their bubble packs and the plants in tanks didn't all look great, but for a corporate pet shop not bad. I got there just b4 close and the manager helped me right away, everyone working was super friendly even though I stopped in 5 min b4 close. Will go back when I set up my tanks again.

If I could give no stars, I would. This was my first time bringing my dog to this groomer. Shortly after I left, I got a call that they can’t groom her because the vet said I self reported my dog having seizures. I called my vet because that was news to me. They said that they never told the groomer that I self reported my dog having seizures. They said there was a note about me asking about a behavior and if that could be a seizure. My dog was never diagnosed with a seizure and has had great experiences with previous groomers. This groomer took it upon herself to make an assumption that my dog has health concerns. That’s funny because at the last annual vet visit she had a clean bill of health. Petco was very unprofessional and inappropriate with their assessment.

I had a very good experience at this pet store. The woman who helped us was very nice, she was helpful and stayed with us the entire time and then even rung us out even tho someone was waiting on her. She was knowledgeable and friendly. They had a very healthy and wide variety of animals at the time. They had some animals that even I had never seen at any other pet store which was very cool. Definitely one of the best per stores I've been to.

I love the refillable cat litter there. I have used it for over twenty years with multiple cats. Always a full big bin for refilling and I not wasting plastic by reusing the buckets for all these years!

Normally, my pup gets groomed in Los Angeles, so going to a new groomer always makes me nervous. This was hands down one of the best grooming experience Latté (of tik tok fame lol) has ever had! Kallie (I'm sorry if I am misspelling her name) was amazing and went above and BEYOND with exceptional care for my pet. My family was also very impressed with her cut!

Friendly and very supportive staff who were very understanding with my partner and I when returning a sick reptile we had purchased. I would give 5 stars but I have to knock a few points down because I was scammed into purchasing Vitalcare for my pets due to misinformation. I was sold the service with the belief it was a monthly contract and I could cancel anytime but after lengthy calls on hold with vital care customer service I was told it is a yearly service and I would be unable to cancel without proper reasoning.

Went in there today 5/3/2023 roughly 2pm. My friend's dog got into a bag of grapes and he needed me to pick up some charcoal pills. I walk straight back to a person I assumed was an employee. She had the most unwelcoming attitude. I asked if she knew where the charcoal pills were. She told me that she's with a customer and that she's only there for vaccines. Fair enough. I then found an employee, Roxy and she told me I should talk to the vet for more input on the situation and pointed me towards the woman I initially talked to. Great. The vet then tells the staff that she sent me to them. Luckily, Oksana and Anthony came the the rescue. They understood the urgency of the situation. They both pulled out their phones to try and find the charcoal pills I needed. The only thing the "vet" could say was "grapes are toxic for dogs." Oksana and Anthony cared. They were very sympathetic. The "vet" should take notes from Oksana and Anthony on basic common courtesy .

Bought a NBA shirt for my granddog on line, and had it as a pickup at the Petco in Glastonbury. It has a great location. I went into the store, the Courtesy Desk person saw me and I saw her, I showed her my phone message that my shirt was there and she immediately got it for me. The transaction was quick and friendly and it turned out my item was in stock . Can't ask for anything more.
