Nice and modern grocery store in this little downtown section of Trinidad. I stopped here on a road trip and do not regret it. Nothing here is priced to outrageously, but I would definitely just look at prices before buying. We only grabbed a few drinks and a bag of chips. Thankfully my rewards number worked for this location so I’ll have to remember it when passing through the area. Not so sure if they would appreciate this, but it is definitely a good parking spot for wandering the downtown section and the dispensaries.I do think it is a little odd and quirky that the bathroom is located in the very back amongst the stock room. There is only one restroom so stagger your family so as to not have people in line. Be sure to take a selfie with the meat coats

It was a bad day at Safeway. Lines to check out were very long and self checkout was a mess. The mechines would lock up. One inexperienced person was trying to help. Jumping from one machine to another. Two cashiers, trying to keep up with the Friday afternoon rush. Under staffed and overworked. You could see the frustration with the staff. Plus, the over complicated self checkout system doesn't help. If you're going to save money by make us an employee. Prices should reflex the aggravation.

I was a little turned around at first from the Safeway back home in Belgrade, Montana. Our deli, produce, Starbucks, pastry, and florist are all on the entrance and exit side.. The pharmacy and meat department are on the other far side.I thought the floral arrangement was beautiful!

A very good store to get what you need. However, the self-checkout broke and the woman next to us (whom I am assuming is a local) said that it happens a lot. Maybe fix those? Also, the bathrooms were in the back of the store in the storage area where only employees are normally allowed, which was odd.

This Safeway has the most poorly stocked produce section I have ever seen. If you need produce, it’s better just to go to Walmart. Edit: Don’t bother going before 7:00am. If you open at 6:00am, why not have the store stocked and ready for customers at 6:00am. This is the most poorly stocked and managed grocery store I have ever been to.

All of the fruit produce was rotten and covered with flies. They have refrigerated products on their shelves that expired two weeks ago. I made the mistake of buying sliced cheese that said it was not expired, but when I got it home it was covered in green mold. (This was not blue cheese)It looks to me like they're going out of business. If they were short staffed, they wouldn't have three people constantly standing at the entrance tasked with watching us use the self checkout, which I have to use because there is never a cashier open. Everything on their shelves is significantly more expensive than Walmart and it's just incredibly frustrating how lazy everyone has gotten at this location.

It has been a long time since I've seen commercial carpeting in a Safeway...or any large chain grocery. Strange, yet comfortable. The store features an excellent selection like all Safeway stores and has that extra bonus of a Starbucks in the corner near the front door.

Super disappointed. I came to the Safeway gas station paying a bit more per gallon, but knowing I usually buy Safeway at home. $3.97/gal full tank and they’ve now decided customers can’t use the bathroom there anymore. Even though it is 19 feet from where I’m standing. Now I’m required to move my car to the next parking lot, park again, and walk through the entire grocery store to the bathrooms in the back. Not exactly customer service. I will be finding another place to buy gas in Trinidad.

The 3 girls working today (7/1) at starbucks were great with how busy they were. They even asked if I wanted my banana bread heated up and that was great customer service. Destiny, Shy and I didn’t catch the other girl’s name. I would give them 5 stars. The manager that decided to stand on the side and shout drink orders at them instead of helping however, is whats wrong. The girls had a bunch of people with multiple drinks and instead of applauding his employees for working their best, he was mad that they weren’t smiling. I would hate to work for someone like that

The manager there is so patient and helpful. He keeps the store running smoothly especially when a customer like me comes in there making things difficult 👍😬And I totally forgot his name but I'm pretty sure he is the only male manager. Also the other managers are amazing too. Great Job💯🎉

I really hope that in time the management and staff can take pride in their store. Way too packed full of junk and offers through the walkways. Bread was 2 days old from the deli, and they always offer sale items and first day of sale there is nothing there.

sold me a 75.00 tenderloin that was 1/2 fat and grissle. also, older heavy set lady (employee) at checkout while cking my i.d. hit 5 stars review on my chk out display, also hit 'all very friendly' etc. without even asking me.... also, the worst selection of meat i've ever seen

Two stars only because of the convenience factor.One of the pharmacy workers has a terrible attitude and acts as if my college student is bothering her when she picks up her prescription.Last night my daughter was picking up some supplies to help with her cold and one of the employees refused to sell her ginger beer because she wasn't old enough. I wonder if she would have let her buy root beer?

Glad Safeway has a store in Trinidad, however checking out is frustrating because the system is not up to date with the sale prices posted on the shelf, trying to correct that with an associate is impossible they don't really get it and don't have time or knowledge how to correct. Front doors should be upgraded and entry needs paint and new carpet desperately.

The produce has always been fresh and I have never found anything expired on the shelves. The staff has always been polite and helpful. This is a good clean store they just need to work on having grocery carts 🛒 in the store because everytime I go I need to go look for one in the parking lot.

I was traveling from Colorado to Florida, and I stopped in Trinidad to get some supplies. I like Safeway because the Store is nice and clean! And this Safeway was not the exception. Great selection in grocery, additionally they have a Starbucks. I'm posting this review because the Manager at this location was the most professional, polite, and patient person I have seen.A few hours ago, I called asking for a missed wallet. The manager helped me to identify my wallet, even mailed all my documents to Florida. I am completely pleased with the consumer service, the excellent commitment, and the outstanding process to help people in myriad situations. Thank you for your kindness and assistance.

Probably the worst Safeway I’ve visited. Store looked almost as if it has been looted. It was dirty, disorganized, so many shelves empty and shelves that weren’t were chaotic with the wrong items. The employees just stood around as if the store looked perfect. Then add the usual high prices of Safeway in general, I’d rather shop at a gas station after this experience. Will not stop here again.

Clean and good sized store. Staff was very helpful and friendly, assisted me in finding what I needed. Great place to go for groceries, personal care items, cleaning supplies, etc.
