1 stars - only takes one bad experience to ruin a reputation. Keep that in mind Platte Valley Veterinary.Had good experience before, but will be going elsewhere from here on out. I was 10 minutes late to an appointment for my cat who has a UTI and is pissing blood. if you’re coming from Loveland give yourself extra time for the trains because this place has zero compassion for your pets and will make you reschedule.I was told we had to reschedule because they only had 5 minutes left for my appointment. Its 3:10, the parking lot is empty and both Google and their website say they close at 5. I get it, I'm late. I can't control the trains, especially when it's a 15 minute wait at the tracks and lights. But don't give me an excuse about "only having 5 minutes" when your lobby is empty, parking lot is empty, and you have over an hour and a half left of your advertised business day remaining.Its now 3:30 and your parking lot just now had another car come in.I'll find someone who cares. And then I have to clean up blood and cat pee from the carrier.Do better.Edit: you did not offer to let me drop the cat off, the person at the desk told me I would have to reschedule. Thank you for your concern.

I WOULD NOT recommend Platte Valley Veterinary to care for your pets!Our 9 year old lab was misdiagnosed as certain findings from an ultrasound report were withheld from us. This led to improper care and we were forced to put our dog down.

Have been going to this vet for awhile and we unfortunately had to have them put our fur baby down. They were very kind and gave us the time we needed to say our goodbyes. They tried everything to save him and we appreciate it. Highly recommend

Amazing vet!!!Julie & her staff are super super awesome and very accommodating and understanding!I first met Julie & her staff when my heeler got sick from eating blue Buffalo dog food she ensured me multiple times he was gunna be alright! We got some antibiotics and probiotics and a food plan madeWith in 7 days he was back to his crazy self!I will always recommend plattevalley vet to my friends with fur babies

Great compassionate care for the animals! Great customer service for the humans!!I woke up with Murphy's law running my life. My dog needed to be at Playte Valley clinic by 800am. Had a flat on 392. I was around an hour late getting there.Kindly and generously they still took the dog. Needing tires and now a rim my day changed.200pm I didn't hear phone but our dog was done with her procedure. I was still in the middle of Murphy's day. I didn't make it til 5:03 .Thank you for being kind " The Staff". I was treated the same as always very kind!!!!! I know that I didn't help the day go smooth for you all!!Thanks so much for taking care of our pets and putting up with us humans!!!!Bernard

My first experience in 50+ years, with a vet and practice who can't communicate, lack follow up and disregard for the care of a special needs dog.Rather than communicating, Dr Kidd failed follow up on her end with my previous vet and has failed to provide any follow-up care for my dog. I had provided all medical records, contact names, phone numbers and email address.Dr Kidd has failed in all regards to her oath to care for animals.

The staff and vet are always there for the needs of your animals. We've been a long time customer to Platte Valley Vet as they truly care about what they do and what the animals needs are. Always a blessing to have everyone there on your animals side and has never turned down an animal or their family for any treatment. Their love and care for our animals is as strong as ours.Platte Valley Vet has reasonable pricing on all their services for your animals and I will always trust our animals in their care.

Dr Kidd is probably the nicest, kindest Vet I have ever known.Her compassion for the animals comes through.She has come in to the office early to accommodate us and at times stayed late.Her staff is equally as kind and accommodating.I would highly recommend Dr. Kidd to any family with a loving pet. Her pricing is more than fair and for her it’s not about the money. It’s the love for the animals.We have been going to her for over two years. Moved farther away but still drive the 40 min to visit. It’s well worth it!!

We started going here when we moved to Severance because we heard good things and it was so close to our new home. We absolutely LOVE this vet! Julie is so great with our little dogs, who have been treated roughly by other vets. We had an emergency visit yesterday after one of our dogs had a severe reaction to a vaccine, went into anaphylactic shock, and almost died (I won't go into details). When we rushed her to the vet (luckily was very close) they scooped her right up and brought her back to the vet. They took immediate action to get her set up on an IV and probably saved her life. A most traumatic day for us, but it was so great to know that we are in good hands with Platte Valley Vet.Our experiences here have been so good, although they have fairly few. The doctor listens to us when we have concerns about our dogs and she is kind with us and our dogs. It is obvious that they care about their patients here. The prices have always been reasonable and it doesn't seem they are interested in gouging animal owners on what can be very expensive costs, especially in crisis situations. Thank you Platte Valley Vet! We hope to keep coming here for many years!!

The reason I am only giving 3 stars is that although Dr Kidd is wonderful, the person at the front desk who is also the tech is very unfriendly and at times very unprofessional in front of other clients. I have had a couple friends tell me the same thing. We were good clients and had used this clinic for 5 of our dogs for a few years. We would feel unwelcome due to this person and she showed no compassion to our dogs when we came in for appointments. I have held off for a while to write this review but was encouraged to do so by others. In my opinion, anyone who works around animals or children should have a friendly and comforting demeanor. People are coming in with their very loved pets that are part of their family! Our biggest disappointment is that my husband and I reached out at least 3 times via phone and in person to let Dr Kidd know how disappointed we were in this staff member and we never received a phone call. Our guess is that this employee did not relay the message. Very sad to have to go somewhere else, but it is worrisome to know your beloved fur baby would be around such a person in any kind of procedure. Our apologies to Dr Kidd for this negative review but please consider having a friendly and caring tech!

I have been a Platte Valley Vet client since 2008-2009. Beyond many times Dr. Kidd has gone above and beyond for my animals. There is no doubt she has the animal’s best interests at heart, she is thorough and complete, answers questions, offers alternative options and solutions and deeply feels what the owners are experiencing. I have repeatedly recommended this practice for years. She has seen numerous personal pets, foster dogs, rescue dogs for the basics, etc. Dr. Kidd is solid and not the issue.I am not the best client. I have several animals and they can be a handful. That being said, the staff have been repeatedly rude, dismissive and condescending. Like…6th time’s a charm repeatedly from not just the basics but to boarding and emergencies. I don’t review anything, pretty much ever, but this was the last interaction I’m putting myself through.

Only place I trust with my Three Dogs! Love the staff. DR Julie Kidd is great and has helped get my youngest dogs allergy issues under control. I highly recommend her and her team. P.S. great grooming they do an amazing job with my difficult Shih tzu. Love you gals!

We love Platte Valley for both our cats & dogs. They are alway caring and listen, affordable and usually pretty easy to get in to. They also offer boarding, we have used a few times and my English Bulldog is always well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kidd has been the vet for my dogs and cats for 14 years. She is knowledgeable, compassionate and has outstanding diagnosis. Her staff, Rita and Megan, are excellent. I drive about 40 minutes to this clinic. I highly recommend.

We wanted to stay local for simple Vet services. But when we went to another pet hospital for a more complicated procedure, Platte Valley would not forward our pets medical record!!!!Otherwise a 4 Star place until that happened.If you go there... Ask for a copy of diagnosis for you to keep.

The customer service is awful. Rita, who is a receptionist, decided when I called to read my animal's chart and proceed to give me a diagnosis. Not only is she not qualified to do this, but she was rude, unsympathetic and awful to me. When I tried to explain to her that wasn't what the vet had talked with us about at the previous visit, she cut me off and continued her misdiagnosis. By the end, I was in tears. I called my old vet and told them what happened and they were shocked by my treatment and the wrong information I was given. Do not take your animals here unless you want to be treated poorly and have someone unqualified give you a wrong diagnosis or treatment advice

HORRIBLE VET!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG(S) HERE!!!10/17 My husband took both of our dogs to this vet (first time here) told the lady on the phone before the appointment my dog needed ONE immunization. They decided to give her TWO immunizations and it was not even the one she needed. Talking to the lady on the phone about what had happened and she was very careless about the situation. I asked for the doctor to call me. Nobody called. Called back and said do not give any immunizations to my PUPPY until her records were reviewed since they just gave my other dog the wrong immunizations. Well, they went ahead and gave her what they "thought she needed because she was a rescue".. Still, no phone call from anyone and nobody even apologized. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY VET!!!!

So uncaring of a crying hurt pet right on front of you. A pet that you have seen for five years. I get that you were not open for care on Mondays but to not even acknowledge her and her pain while we are standing in front of you in your lobby. She is/was your patient. When we arrived at our new vet they greeted her before even saying hi to me. And then to not acknowledge our email with a reply or phone call. Very disappointing, so we thought we should let others know.
