Long lines, no registers besides self checkout, but tons of employees standing and socializing! Customers are not acknowledged and greeted throughout the store at all!

I will not be eating from the deli anymore unless the girls stop wearing lashes there! I went to buy chicken wings and I was eating them picked up this piece and found a whole eyelash! So disgusted!! Always check your chicken/food guys!

This safeway was stocked and clean. Everyone was wearing masks. Employees were friendly as well - and chatty. Good selection of meat and milk products.

Went to Safeway today in Monte Vista, Co. When we arrived we looked everywhere for a shopping cart. None were to be found. The store was not busy so I couldn't understand why there weren't any shopping carts. We asked a few people who worked there where the shopping carts were. We were told that the locals in Monte Vista take them home with them. Are you kidding? I couldn't believe it. Needless to say we won't be shopping there anymore.

We love this store, but there is a little Mexican women that works in the deli who is very rude and seems to always have an attitude. We literally never want to deal with her! If CUSTOMER SERVICE isnt your thing, then why work in a GROCERY STORE??? SEEMS like every other employee is pleasent and respectful, and she's just like "whatever"!! Go work somewhere where you don't have to deal with CUSTOMER SERVICE! It's off putting and we will just avoid the deli when she's working. Other than that we love it!

I make a trip to Alamosa once a week as a driver and like to stop here for different food choices. I'm a little disappointed in the deli because one night I stood there for way too long trying to get the attention of the clerk just to have ?her be kind of rude in telling me they were closed eve though there was a lot of hot food still sitting in the bins, which were more than likely just going to be thrown away. Other than that it's always been a good experience.

Always have had a good experience! My only complaint which shouldn't be is that for some reason the self check-out has been not working correctly. A few times now I've swiped my items and it says I paid when I haven't. I let the clerks know about it each time. But you never know how many others have just walked out without paying... especially on this town!

The store was recently redone and looks good. Shelves stocked are a hit and miss. The employees here seem to hate their jobs. Not always helpful, have scowls on their faces, amd often do not have answers to questions or act very put out to help. I get it - people suck. Most have a way of taking the joy out of things, but customer service is about pleasantries and helping everyone the same regardless of how the last person acted. It is an OK place to go in a pinch, but I save my bigger shopping for Alamosa.

Ive come in to this Safeway location several times to get groceries, and to grab food from the Deli. Your employee Ivy Meade. She very awesome. She has great, customer service skills. She fast, precise, courteous, and respectful to her team, co-workers, and bosses and customers. I knew Ivy when she worked at Jack's in Del Norte. She plays by the rules. When she ran her register, she was fast ringing up and bagging all of her customers. She is very accurate with her change and she kept her draw balanced out. She would never allow people to purchase Cigarettes without proper identification. Multiple times she was screamed at and yelled at and she never gave in. When she was the produce manager she was constantly keeping her fruits and vegetables up date and fresh. She never kept anything expired on the floor. When she did the out door sells she had people in and out of that store so fast. That they would ask why arent her other coworkers the same way? This girl is a beast!! And you guys chose this right individual for safeway team. When I saw her start in the Deli for closing. She is great by herself, and she is as well awesome when she works with others. She's very helpful, and she quick. Getting customers what they want and sending them on there way. I would love to see more workers like Ivy. She puts a smile on faces, and knows how to turn your day around.Thank youZay Rico

We bought a birthday cake from Monte Vista Safeway today. Man they did a smoking job on it. It is gorgeous, they did an outstanding all the way, from ordering it to a change I made the next day after ordering it. To the great service they provided when we picked it up. Their employees were the gold standard for customer service. Thank you very much for the great job. Second review of monte vista safeway. Went in there today for their t-bones on sale, they were out. I asked about them they immediately went cut my some very nice ones. Their customer service is outstanding at this store. I hope the people in the head office realize what standing employees they have at this store. Very seldom you see this level of service in the retail business today.Charlie and Shirley Criss

This is a fairly old and smaller Safeway. One week we visited and the whole meat case was empty. I guess it failed. As everything is now it is very expensive. $20 for a small beef chuck roast. Nice manager at check out helped with our coupons that were not working, which is a common problem.

The store is very clean. I buy alot of veggies. The produce department is always very clean, the produce clerks are always super nice, and you can tell they care about how the produce looks, and hardly ever see empty shelves. The meat department is very clean, the cuts of meats are awesome and the boneless chicken breasts are the best. And the chicken pot pies are everything!! Most of the people that work there are nice, some are not and they need to work on that...

There is a good reason why I hardly ever shop at Safeway: their phone app sucks!It is so sooo user unfriendly as to be asininely useless.I had to get two employees (one was a stocker, the other, a self checkout cashier) help me correctly download coupons to phone and get them used. The barcode scanner is not intuitively easy to find nor use. When I clipped a coupon it did not ring up at correct price. That's when stocker (thankfully a Millenial, who could explain such complex mechanics to me) told me, after clipping virtual coupon, one must click on item in the Used coupon list, or some junk like that.After I check out at Safeway, I always find discrepancies between coupons clipped and price paid, sometimes up to $6 difference. So I always have to wait in line at Customer Service to get refunded.I'm much more inclined to shop at other grocers.

It smelled so good when I walked in. They were making fresh bread.They had fresh fried chicken and sides.It made me hungry just smelling. LolThe people are very friendly and professional.I go back many times a month👍👍

The store is clean and not over crowded. The employees are always kind and generous to my disabled son and are never angry when he has an off day and makes a mess. The shelves are always stocked and the produce usually looks good.

Freezers are always broken. If you go in to buy a premade deli sandwhich ask if they can make you a different one and to hold the plastic. They never take the plastic off their sliced meat when they make sandwhiches. Stay vigilante my friends.

Well I didn't like the fact that your waiting in line now having to use those do it yourself machines it don't matter the time but a person wants to get in and out specially when there's awhole bunch of workers just all standing there watching the people use the machines I guess making sure your not trying to get over the machine I guess but I think it's pretty ridiculous!

I shopped at Monte Vista Safeway deli last night. I wanted some mozzarella pasta, but the guy working there told me that they closed already, so I bought some chicken strips and coleslaw. I went home and ate. The chicken strips were dry. They were so dry, that I have had more juice and flavor from gas station jerky. The coleslaw was wet and juicy, and my several trips to the bath room a day later keep reminding me of that fact. I haven't eaten creamed corn in 30 years, but don't tell my toilet that. I'm just thankful that I didn't have to throw up this garbage.

This Safeway at this location is amazing.I was able to get my items replaced without being looked at like a lier,or getting looked at with a fake expression as they secretly question themselves with doubts that I may just be trying to get free food.I would like to ask everyone not to take advantage of this informationto use them for their act of kindness.I would like to personally thank the Manager at Safeway who helped me out onJuly 1st 2021.I will reveal her name when I share my next experience with her.I was so shocked that it was so quick and easy to get treated with this much respect, I became speechless.I regret not writing her name down and taking a photo with her.I will make it a good habbit to do so because my phone always asks me how my trip was to every location just about. LOLI learned that I love making an imprint on their heart like they do mine.With this kind of outstanding service I believe that they deserve to be remembered and never forgotten.

This is a great small town store, it has a nice deli and a very friendly staff who will help you find what you need. It has 2 self checkout stands and usually 1-2 checkers.. There isn't usually too long of a wait in the checkout line. I really enjoy shopping here and highly recomend it.

TWO PART STORY: 1. Missed priced items, more costly than others, melted ice cream, items bagged incorrectly! I had a cart bursting at the seams at a register with a front supervisor bagging my items. Suddenly she left to help others when there were still items on the conveyor. After I finished paying the cashier just looked at me and watched as I finished bagging the items she'd just scanned. I started to leave when I noticed a bag the supervisor had bagged still hooked on the far side of the two bagging areas. I looked and sure enough they were mine that she hadn't bothered putting in the cart. When I got to the car and started loading I found she'd packed some of the bags wrong and had put 3 of the containers of ice cream sitting in different directions in a bag with heavy cans and other groceries on top. The ice cream laying sideways was smooched open, the contents all over the other two. I returned them to the store but couldn't complain about everything that had just transpired because she was now in customer service. I did however tell her I thought there was a problem with the freezer, some ice cream felt soft. PART 2:. Two containers of ice cream had made it home. When I opened them that night one was fine, the other was discolored, it looked old and like it had melted some in the past lifetime. Because of all of this it was "shriveled" to only two thirds of it's original size; I had to stand in line to return that also. YUCK! I'm not shopping there anymore because every time I do there are problems.

The aisles are narrow, the selections are not great, produce is often wanting. People are generally friendly. It does the job and that's about it. Though their fried chicken is very good.

Want to spend 40 minutes waiting on a self checkout because they have no cashiers? If so then this might be your place. Staff is rude, products are over priced, this used to be a good place to shop. This is no longer the case.
