I have always had a great exp with the staff and have been super friendly. Today is probably going to be the last time I shop in the store though. We have gotten romaine lettuce and other produce numerous times and have been very brown or not edible. All the produce has looked the same. Have also bought soda numerous times and out of a 12 pack numerous cans have been broken or opened. The stocking staff may need to take some more care before they present items to the customers.

The ladies are always nice and the food is always good. Unfortunately they ran out of chicken last Wednesday and I happened to use my entire lunch break just to get some dried out chicken tenders. But at least I ate anyway four stars keep up doing what y'all do good and make sure you have chicken next time for lunch. LOL

Always love Hays Market when visiting Johnstown! Everyone is so friendly and they have some really unique items and local produce! Plus, they stock my favorite salsa! I love it, and so does everyone whomhas tried it! Hell Yeah!

Went for two items. Both items I went to grab from the shelf were expired by at least a week to over a month. This was mayonnaise and ketchup. Also, we bought organic celery hearts from hays and they turned brown within 2 days. I just cannot trust their employees to check dates when facing shelves anymore. When will they hire people who manage their produce better and teach their staff to check expiration dates more carefully???

Yes really 5 stars! I never rate any place that high ! But they were so kind helped me find something I was searching for right away with a smile! The produce is the best you will find top qualities that will stay fresh a few days after you bring it home, not that cheap junk from other big places, and the prices were fair on everything! Some things were even less like the dog food! They have the best tortillas from a small business in Loveland so it saved me running after them! That alone saved me gas and time that’s priceless added to the kindness and how impeccably clean and organized the entire store always is! Definitely five stars all the way around! Makes me so proud this is what I fought for in Iraq!! Best of America we need more of this! Please go here if you haven’t yet I promise you will actually enjoy grocery shopping instead of dreading how expensive things are now! Thank you for being a positive place for everyone well done!

This little market has got a good deli and produce section. Although they are more expensive on most products, I look forward to stopping in on my way to visit my daughter and grandkids. Great fried chicken and side dishes!

I absolutely love this store. But today when I asked for something from the deli, Michelle seemed annoyed. It was the first time I got less than I asked for. Usually I'm asked if the amount is good or I want more. She didn't. Just slapped a sticker on it and gave it to me.. wasn't very friendly. I hope she was just having an off day.

Where should I start! Hay's Market in Johnstown has THE BEST Bakery & yummiest tasting cakes EVER, delicious Rotisserie Chickens, great produce, awesome Deli (Chicken Pot Pies on Friday), and Personable and Caring Staff. I love this market in Johnstown and am grateful I get to visit it weekly.

Nice selection of groceries especially given the store and community size. They have coconut cake that big grocery stores just don’t carry. Overall a little higher prices than their bigger counterpart. But you have to bear in mind, living in the area what it would cost to drive to one of those. The deli is impressive. Different flavors of things like potato salad I can’t find anywhere else. And simply; if for nothing else that anything they put together and package for the shelf or various produce they cut and package, I am confident they have first washed the produce and their hands. I appreciate that they are closed for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And definitely that they hold true to their posted hours of business.

I love Hays. They have a beautiful produce section. The rest of the market is always well stocked, organized and clean. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I much rather shop here than any of the large super markets, even if I no longer live in the same town, it's worth the drive.

There's no organic produce or meat but it's good for grabbing a few things you forgot at the grocery store. Pleasant staff and always quick to get in and out.

The bakers are amazing! I gave Gina the creative freedom to decorate a Lego themed cake however she wanted (just as long as it was colorful with a huge 5) and she took the time to pipe multi colored bricks! The cake was delicious and affordable! All the bakers are wonderful! Thank you also to Dianne!

It's disappointing to leave this review because I love small stores like this and was looking forward to becoming a regular patron since it is within walking distance from my new home.I've now had to throw out products 3 times for being soured, from different trips I've made. A salad was slimey and not edible, cut fruit was bad and now, finally, my half and half cream curdled only 3 days after opening and 5 days from it's expiration date.Once or occasionally this happens but not 3 times in a couple of weeks. Food is expensive and I was willing to pay a little extra shopping there for the small town but not now. Quality wins over convenience. Sad....

Worked at this amazing hometown market for over 4 years. One of the best experiences of my life!! Family owned and operated, who treat you like family. I had the pleasure of working for Russell Hays and Ryan Hays! Wonderful bosses and easy to work for. Anytime a manger shows appreciation for the work you have done it only makes you want to work harder. A manager is nothing without their employees. The fact that the company has survived for over 90 years speaks for itself. I hope it goes another 90! And with the newest of the 5 th generation coming up (Lauryn Hays) I have no doubt that business will only continue to soar!!! Shop local and shop where you get treated right!! Thank you Hays market!!! It’s been a pleasure!!

Hays market is such a great small town grocery store with a good selection of your everyday items. All the staff there is super nice and helpful. The only downsides are that since it is such a small store, they don't always have certain items you may be looking for due to their smaller size. On that same note, the prices can be slightly higher for most items, so it makes it hard to do our full shopping list here since it would cost us way more than going to the larger chain stores. Overall, great place!

Just want to share an experience I had with store employee Danielle and a young man that works at Hays Market and I am sorry I can not remember his name (red hair). They went out of their way to make sure i got my groceries. I was looking to see if anyone delivered and was told by Danielle that they didn't offer that service. Before I hung up she said "wait" and asked me where I lived. Within minutes they were at my house with my order. They didn't have to do that. This is why I will continue to shop Hays market. Hays provides a variety of quality products for a small chain grocery store and the staff are always friendly. The deli has fresh items and a large selection of lunch meat to choose from. I like to stop at Hays for produce, as it is fresh and of high quality.
