Had been interested in purchasing some sort of reptile but wasn't sure what. Went to multiple stores on Friday 1/26. Found this place on a Google search. Walked in and place was clean, organized, with friendly staff. Salesman wasn't pushy but was more than willing to answer any questions I had. I ended up purchasing a rescue bearded dragon. There was a little confusion on the asking price but he was honest and upfront about it. Will definitely be a return customer for any needs with my current bearded dragon or if we choose to expand our animals at home.

I went in on a whim while i was in town and was immediately impressed with how clean it was. I do not currently own so i had nothing to purchase and while most shops would have given me the cold shoulder the owner was more than welcoming. He made me feel welcome to look around and even offered to pull out their cribo, Betty, to give me a closer look. They had a great selection of healthy animals and i will be making the trip up from Denver when the time comes for me to get another reptile.

My daughters have been super into visiting the store for the last few months and we finally, actually made a purchase in the form of a Reptile party. We had five little girls ranging from ages 3 to 6, who are totally enamored the whole time. The owner was happy to answer (many, many) questions, and the girls got a ton of petting time. Would recommend to anybody in the market for a reptile pet, or looking for a really unique way to celebrate their kiddos.

This place is great!First of all, it's immaculately clean. I mean spotless. If you've been in the reptile hobby or even just other pet stores you know this is quite the feat. They really seem to take care of their animals. The staff is so friendly and such a joy to talk to. They are very clearly experts. They also seem very committed to outreach and education which is next-level awesome. So far I’ve only purchased food items and dry goods (all have been great and reasonably priced). When it comes time for another critter I will check in with them.

Don’t call and ask this dude any advice about a species if u didn’t purchase it from him. I had only had my first ever beardie for 1 yr at the time, and I had called to ask a general question about brumation. This was in early sep. (2023) His response was (the owner) “did u buy it from me?” I did not. My lil guy came from Petsmart….to which he responded “then I can’t help you” CLICK. My feelings were hurt. While I could and did use Google for most of the stuff I needed to know for my new baby scaly friend…what I really wanted was to be reassured by a person with experience. Another human. Not to mention he charges upwards of $600 for a reptile party. Go to Scales n Tales. They’re doing my kiddo’s party for much less. And it’s apparent they’re passionate about educating us everyday people.**EDIT** I actually wasn’t looking for any type of medical advice whatsoever that day. My lil guy is in great health. I kinda just wanted to pick your brain for a quick second since I was still learning. You probably don’t remember, but you wouldn’t even give me the time of day since I didn’t purchase my lizard from you.

Trevor at Front Range Reptiles is absolutely amazing and really knows his stuff! Our crew at Keys4Autism had a wonderful time at his presentation! Students said they "felt lucky to be here" and it was a "wonderful presentation". We love finding local FoCo businesses to partner with! Thank you, Front Range Reptiles! We can't wait to come back!

Great shop with very well taken care of reptiles, clean shop, good prices, and an even better staff. I’ve been purchasing my lizard food (bugs) from FRR since they opened and I don’t plan on going anywhere else for anything reptile related except for Front Range Reptiles. 5/5 stars every day.

Ira (Atleast I believe his name was) was extremely unprofessional, especially upon leaving a small tip on crickets and proceeded to throw tremendous attitude afterwards. The staff has made comments about purposely not cleaning out cages because they “didn’t want to”. I am extremely disappointed to see the lack of accountability and care for their animals, and their enclosures.I hope they can turn their focus around from selling reptiles to caring for them.

This place needs more recognition. When you walk in you’re often greeted by the owner himself, the store is clean and bright. They have the best priced crickets in town, hands down. They have a wide assortment of bugs, rodents, etc for your feeding needs, as well as basically every other supply you’ll need to keep your reptiles happy and healthy. And all for a good price. Then they have a huge selection of different lizards and snakes, some turtles, and maybe even something surprising! Then they have the cutest “ambassador animals” which the owner issues for programs and parties, to teach people and children about these animals! Please support this wonderful local business!

I was looking to get my first leopard gecko, I asked many questions about first starting and received answers. The were patient and decided to get a 10 gallon tank.

I want to like this place but, as an advanced keeper, I can't. Every time I've visited I've been disappointed.-A large ratio of display-only animals.-Their for-sale lizards and snakes are in huge sparce enclosure with zero enrichment.-Lacking in variety of their reptile accessories, tools, enclosure furnishings.-Their website isn't very up to date. It said they had a critter, went there and it was sold. The employee had no idea when (sounded like a while ago).-They do not have the scientific names of the animals, and couldn't answer what specific species something was.-They didn't know what morph a critter was and made one up.-Trying to have a more advanced reptile discussion with one of the employees, the employee would not reciprocate. They barely responded, multiple visits.+On the plus side, they seems to be good at communicating with beginner reptile owners. Like, the employee seemed to have a personality 180 when the next person (a beginner) was talking about getting a reptile for their family member.

Thank you guys so much for taking great care of our little princess at lizard camp last week! She had the best time and will be back!

We were so happy with their service and knowledge. My son recently adopted a Corn snake. She is older and has been neglected. The employee (I think it was the owner) spent a lot of time helping us get Pumpkin the supplies we needed to give her a healthy space. He educated my son about care and was really patient with us and we asked a lot of questions. In addition to that the store had no odor and the enclosures were spotless. It was unlike any other reptile store I have visited!

My ball python is EVERYTHING to me both as my ESA and my best buddy I love so much. So I am always extra cautious with who I leave him with or take him for boarding needs when I go on vacation. Trevor is an individual I can trust leaving my BP with every time stress-free. Trevor is very kind, easy to work and talk with, and is especially very attentive to unique needs - one time my BP was just about to shed and Trevor told me that he and his team would make sure to give him some soakings to help him shed and it all came off in one when I went to pick my BP up! That was so kind of them and it felt good knowing that these guys listened to me. :)I highly recommend this place for boarding your reptiles! And if you are like me who adores their animals and gets anxiety on leaving animals in a boarding facility while gone, then take it from me when I say that I can assure you that your animal(s) are in the best caring hands. :)Thanks for all you do Trevor and team!

I created an account just to leave an actually reliable opinion on this place. Absolutely love it. Super clean, well lite, the reptile enclosures are very clean and have the correct amount of enrichment for the short term period of sale contaminant. The owner (I wanna say Trevor) is absolutely the sweetest guy ever. More than willing to go above and beyond with his advice to the extent of his knowledge… and by that I mean he doesn’t BS anyone. He also is very helpful on ideas and doesn’t lack helpful tips unlike some other local reptile stores. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend giving this place a visit. Thank you all for reading. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been in many independently owned reptile stores and this was by far the cleanest. As someone who is very sensitive to smells, I am so happy to have found a place that doesn't have the usual reptile store funk. They had a great selection of reptiles as well as the basics that you would need to set up an enclosure. I will definitely be returning here for my feeder insects and rats.

Absolutely first rate shop, with obvious care for their animals and passion for what they do. We did a birthday party that was tons of fun (and probably netted some future reptile-purchasers) :). Can't recommend this place enough. Thank you all for being so kind, understanding, and great with kids of many ages! We've already been recommending you to friends!

The owner is always very kind and knowledgeable, the store is clean and well taken care of. So much better experience than the other reptile store in town. I now buy all of the food for my ball python and bearded dragon here. Big supporter of Front Range Reptiles and hope other people will also support this local business!

As a vet student, reptile lover, and amateur (at best) reptile keeper I can’t recommend this place enough. It is truly EXCELLENT. I moved to Fort Collins around a year ago at which time there were very few (one) option for getting reptile supplies, feeders, and quality reptiles. That option and many others that I’ve visited lacked good customer service skills, the ability to eloquently communicate to the beginner or those interested in the hobby, and the facilities to manage reptiles in a clean, sleek and spacious environment. Front Range reptiles is the opposite in every way and offers spacious realistic environments to their scaly and sometimes slimy friends. They even offer educational programs to students which not only exposes them to a new realm of science but encourages them to think outside the box as it relates to conservation and preserving these species. The owner is amazing and I can’t thank him enough for bringing this to the Fort Collins area as well the entire front range.

By far the cleanest pet store, reptile store etc I have ever been in. Cages are clean and you can tell there is much care added to each reptile in that store. Owner is cool and never to busy for customers, giving a GREAT small business vibe. He actually took the time to give My Family and I some snake handling techniques. Was on the fence about snakes for some time and Front Range Reptiles solidified that itch. So, get out there and have a visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We had our 7 year old’s birthday party here and the adults had as much fun as the kids. We all learned so much from Trevor, Dan and their team while having such a unique experience together. We purchased our first reptile pet and they have helped us so much with all of our questions. So thankful for this place!

My daughters had an amazing time celebrating their birthdays at Front Range Reptiles! Trevor and his team make it fun and educational. You can tell this is a labor of love for them. Highly recommend for anyone in the market for a reptile companion or looking to book a special event.

I went for my first time because it’s very close to my house and figured it’d be convenient. I got the worst fruit fly culture for $16. Super overpriced and it does not produce flies. I will go to Skales n Tails from here on out, which is where I typically go. A little further out of the way but way cheaper and better products.

This store was clean, bright, and pleasant to be in. Plenty of room to walk around in but still a good amount of supplies and animals. Many of the animals were in large enclosures and nothing looked like it was crammed in a box just to sell it. I don't really mean to talk bad about other pet stores in town but this place will be the first place I check when I need reptiles or supplies from now on.

We boarded our mature bearded dragon, Zilla, here for 2 weeks. They didn't have a tank big enough for an almost 5 year old lizard, so we brought our own. Upon our return, the tank was cleaner than it's been since we got it, and Zilla was healthy and happy, even at a time of year when she might be normally getting sluggish. She had obviously received a lot of attention, which she thrived on! (more than she gets at home!)This place is light and airy and clean. They obviously care for their animals, including the boarders! The next time we have to leave town, we will definitely bring Zilla here for "dragon camp." :)

This guy sold me a Russian tortoises claiming it was male. When in fact it was a female. Then when I called him to inform him. He was rude guilty acting and very defensive even raising his voice to me. . He did not apologize one time. Insisted his breeder sold them males. As soon as I got him home. My male turtle jumped right on it and mated. I will be er do business with this place again as he seems to know everything and likes to argue when he's being informed of his false information.
