I have always enjoyed coming here. There are several ice cream parlor/baking shops on the strip, but this one has always been a bit more special.I initially started coming here every summer during family vacation, and it has now become an annual tradition for me to get an ice cream cone upon arrival and upon leaving Estes Park. I have tried all the other ice cream spots, but this one seemed to be a bit more consistent flavor-wise and has always had a crunchy, fresh cone (have been times on occasion that I got soggy cone at other spots). Additionally, their prices are competitive, but at the time of this posting, it has always been just slightly cheaper in price (at least for ice cream) compared to the other places.A special bonus and unique feature of this place is their mascot: a gorgeous and friendly golden retriever, who you will sometimes find safeguarding the entrance to the store. This has always made this place a bit more unique in my mind.I also like the interior, which features higher ceilings and a more snake-like walk through that forces you to enjoy the view of everything they sell. It can get a bit cramped at times, but has usually never been a problem for me.The employees are typically a mixture of locals/owners, part time students, and international seasonal workers. I can see why some other reviewers may consider one of the gentlemen that works there a bit dry and curt, but I think that’s just his brand of humor. Everyone has generally been friendly and respectful.

I feel like most of the treat shops in the area are about the same, but this one at least at structure to the line and it wasn’t a free for all. The staff was very nice. Their mascot is Buddy the dog, so I can appreciate that. Gelato was delicious!

Been here a few times. The people there are very friendly. The have a good selection of bulk and prepackaged candy. They have amazing ice cream, truffles, fudge and more. Buddy the dog was there when we were there this last time.

5/24/2023 - We are traveling with our 5 y/o great-grandson from WI. This place is so charming! Our lil guy had eyes a big as saucers when he saw Buddy, the dog, is gentle scrounger of snacks who greets you at the door. Then, we made it INSIDE!! Oh boy, there's various candies, ice cream and fudge!!! The staff was welcoming a just a fun, little stop in the midst of your day. They even hand out Buddy stickers! What more could you want? 😉

This place is AWESOME! The staff were soo nice. They gave us samples for ice cream and fudge. The ice cream and Gelato was great. We ended up buying some of each. There were many varieties of fudge to choose from too! We bought fudge too and found some new favorites due to tasting the samples. Great place. Will definitely be back.

Sweet place!!! Literally lol. Their chocolate covered strawberries are so amazing!!!! I even bought all the ones left! Definitely stop by if you’re passing through town. The gentleman not sure if he was the owner or not, was really nice and welcoming.

My mom and I love this shop! We come into their store every time we visit Estes Park, and that's at least 3-4 times a year. They have amazing sweets, a variety to choose from, and the cutest dog named Buddy! Absolutely love visiting Buddy. Their employees are incredible too, always super friendly, and the owner is really nice too! Would recommend checking them out if you've never been.

It is always fun to visit this place. If you go in the fall, check out their seasonal fudge...it is awesome!! Make sure to say hi to Buddy the dog if he is walking around outside. Sweetest dog in the world!

Loved this cute little candy and ice cream shop. I think it is my new favorite ice cream spot. Dog friendly and kid friendly, they made sure my daughter got a buddy sticker before we left. The people were so nice.

Both Google and Yelp list their closing time as 9pm. When my young daughter and I arrived at 8:30 they were closed. I politely mentioned this and the guy closing up made a smart remark back. There's no need to be a jerk to an unhappy 7 year old. Zero stars for being an unkind human.

Absolutely love the staff in here. We visit quite regularly lol the kids love seeing Buddy the dog. The cotton candy, flavored popcorn, ice cream and pretty much everything in the display case are amazing. Then of course they have to have the Bavarian nuts sitting right at the counter (I see what your doing lol) so I have to grab 2 bags of each for me and the husband. The pecans are my favorite but I love the almonds and cashews too. My favorite part is the fact the staff are always so friendly, they remember people and they go out of their way to welcome you to Estes. They are our first stop as we shop downtown, recommend them to everyone. An Estes Park staple for sure!

I wish we had more of a sweet tooth when we came in so I could have gotten some ice cream, but this place is fantastic. The staff is super friendly and engaging. They are pushy with their samples which is great since I usually feel like a nuisance asking for them. Ended up getting 6 squares of fudge to bring home. Will definitely go back on our next visit to Estes

We used to go to this place every time we would be at Estes Park, unfortunately I experienced the worst customer service ever. One young man told me "Do you want the ice cream in your hand or what? After I asked for a scoop of ice cream. Hope they train their employees in the near future, we love this place

A must-stop experience for our family during every visit. We were here st the perfect time of year to be able to purchase the pumpkin pie toffee fudge and oh my goodness, was it amazing. I didn't really catch much toffee flavoring, but it tasted so much like pumpkin pie. The store is very clean and well kept, and the staff is always so friendly and helpful.

This place is RACIST! Deserves zero stars. The punk who serves the ice cream did NOT serve my kids the same amount as the other white customers, but this part was not the worst. We told him specifically we were going to need two flavors for each of us, but when it was my turn, he decided to give me only one flavor. I made him aware I needed the second flavor and he threw a fit and threw everything forcefully in the garbage, insulting and all. He was MAD because he was serving people of color. I didn't see him do anything like that for the other white folks who were there before us and took a long time to decide. We were quick with our orders but he still decided to treat us with no respect. When I told the owner/cashier what happened, even though he saw it all, instead of apologizing he said was going to have a "little talk" with the guy. Are you kidding me?? You need to start with doing something yourself first. Learn to apologize for the mistake of your employee/relative- whoever the hell he is. If he doesn't like the job, he shouldn't be there. Despite the treatment, I still paid for my kids' ice-creams which were served before the incident. Needless to say, if you are NOT white DO NOT go to this place. They will mistreat you and their ice-creams are not that great either.

Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth! Nice selection of icecream and gelato, variety of chocolates and fudge, and a plethora of gourmet popcorn! If that doesn't satisfy you, they also offer Chicago style hot dogs! While you're here, day hi to Buddy the dog... He runs the place!

This is a nice little spot with quite a few options for snacks. There are plenty of candy and chocolate options to choose from as well as having warm nuts, flavored popcorn, and ice cream on-site and available as well. The ice cream was tasty, but the popcorn was less than impressive. We got some of the spicy cheese popcorn. The flavor was not great and almost tasted stale. If you are going for sweets we would recommend, maybe just skip the popcorn.

So happy that I ordered treats from Sugar Shack for our Rehearsal Dinner in Estes Park. I had an idea of what I wanted to buy and Ed at the Sugar Shack did everything and more than what I asked for. (Also thanks to Chris and Ethan) Fun store to visit and delicious & pretty treats to eat. Couldn't be happier! Thank you!
