The dog is friendly, and so is the staff. I was happy they had gas when I needed it the most, but when my car staled a half mile down the road, and I was told later by the dealership mechanic that there was water in my tank, I stopped being happy. Do get the 87 Octane. Now I need to find my way back to Steamboat Springs with a Rental and drive back when the car works again. I called to let the store know, and did not get any real acknowledgment. Not impressed, but still like that dog.

I visited this place again for the first time in many years. I was greeted by a very nice dog, once he sniffed me and I pet his head, I was allowed to enter his store, and he went back to holding the floor down. It was almost exactly like I remembered from when I was a lot younger, except the counter hight seems to have shrunk a bit. The interior is a timeless old classic American feel, with wood walls and floors, and American history all over the place, with modern convenience. I found a nice ice cold coke in the fridge, and gave the place a quick look around on my way to the counter. The nice lady came out from the back office and rang me up for my coke and we exchanged pleasantries. As I walked out it felt almost like time traveling, and I was stepping back into my time again.

Closest place to fill up with gas. No premium but they do have plus. You got to walk inside just to feel like you're going back in time.. buy a candy bar :-)

Store is also the local Post Office. Attention Colorado Trail thru-hikers. If you need a General Delivery resupply, this is the place to send it. Make sure your box is annotated appropriately that it's a RESUPPLY BOX. Mine almost got delivered to a local who answered to the same name. Minimal resupply options, cold beverages, some snack items, and sandwiches.
