Out of all the Handyman services in Denver I have used I will never use Mr Handyman again there owner Shawn is a complete clown and shouldn't even be allowed to run a business plus there prices are ridiculous. I was looking to have new light fixtures installed and when I booked the services I asked Jessica how much and she couldn't even give me a ball park range. They rescheduled 3 times before ever showing up and when they did the tech told me it would cost 400 dollars for 1 light fixture that I could do my self when I was younger! After refusing the services they then tried to charge me $150 estimate fee which is what I was hopping to pay to have the light done! All around awful experience ! Look else where .

I needed help installing my dishwasher. Jessica, the scheduler, called me back to ask again what I needed done. They never showed up when scheduled and didn’t answer the phone when I tried to call and their mailbox was full, so I couldn’t even leave a message. I don’t know what the quality of work would have been, but if it was anything like the lack of professionalism showed by Jessica, I think it was a blessing they didn’t show up.

This company is a Joke Shawn the owner is extremely cheap and makes the techs gouge the clients for materials if they buy $100 in parts they will charge you $300 plus they are supper shady if you ask them to come and check out a small job that shouldn't cost much say replacing a light bulb they will try and charge you $400 no matter what and if you refuse the services they will attempt to collect a $150 "estimate fee. Avoid at all costs !!!

Pretty scammy of the office to have the man immediately charge $400 before knowing the scope of work upon arrival. The guy also haggling by saying give me a $50 tip and I’ll reduce the price is absolutely disgusting business. Do not recommend this company under any circumstance.

I had a 60 inch floating electrical fireplace I needed hung. Mike showed up on time and had a great attitude from the minute I spoke to him on the phone. He hung my fireplace for me and was so kind to insure it worked properly before he left. Above average prices for average to below average performance. The job consisted of replacement of cork floor tiles removed from bathroom to area of water damaged bedroom and hall with replacement of cork tiles in bathroom with vinyl planks. This included cutting around shower, a single sink vanity, and closet along with removal and re-instillation of toilet. Time frame 10 hours.First issue was that there was a difference in the quote made initially and that given prior to starting the job on the next day. I am unclear if this was due to differences in personnel as the individual that gave quote on the day prior was different than the person that came to do the job the next day or more cynically if this was a bait and switch.The job of replacement of cork tiles to area of water damage seems to me below average given large gaps between tiles including those due to poor measure and cutting. Consideration is given to company given for water damaged tiles. I anticipate I will spend 4 hours redoing part of this particularly outside of the bedroom.Instillation of vinyl flooring I consider as average based on my experience of installing the same brand of vinyl planks in an above the garage apartment. Reasons: 1) uneven cutting of cork flooring around closet and vanity. 2) There was a small but notable gap between planks in the middle of the bathroom. This seems due to a 2/16 inch differences in width of the planks between one box and another. The qualitative variance was noted by the two handyman however, I had to go down and measure the planks in the remaining boxes to quantify the variance and instruct the people to ensure that they use planks from one box in one row to minimize variance.Post Script - Knocking a star off. I was so annoyed at the time I didn't realize he did not move out washer and dryer back in to bathroom.Services: Install flooring, Repair flooring

Never showed up for services scheduled first time, gave a second chance and Jessica messed that up too, had a repair man show up wk early than scheduled, seriously showed up wk early even after she Jessica called to ask me the customer to clarify the appt. Will not give you a quote without paying a $100+ "consultation fee," which then of course is credited back to you if you decide to work with them. This type of paid consultation is NOT normal for handyman services in the area, make sure to do your research. 3 stars because I can't speak to the quality of their work, just that their bidding process needs improvement.

As an owner of two small businesses. I was just told by this company that I tried to “Dodge payment “ , after I was told by technician that someone will call the next day to collect payment. I chose the company calling me versus paying the worker on-site because I was not satisfied with the job they had done. I was told by the employee that his company would call me the next day, but it took over a week for them to call me to collect payment and discuss the services. The office manger was extremely rude, saying at first I didn’t say something that I did say. He stated later that he didn’t have the conversation with me so he wouldn’t know what was said. He tried to say the conventional customer service things at the end of the conversation, but only after arguing with me for 15 minutes prior. If you want Shotty work, A business that doesn’t communicate internally, promising things cannot be done , improper scheduling/late and rude customer service I would highly recommend them ! I appreciate the $25.00 off and the good cry after I try to explain myself after a attack of my character . No need to “go back and forth all day “ ill end it here :)

I would not recommend this business at all. They gave me an estimate on the phone of 8 hours for a bathroom job. I provided the information they asked about and sent photos. I talked with Jessica and she said her boss gave her the estimate. Later I talked with her manager Shawn and he claimed he did not know of this estimate (so who gave it? ). Their employee Brian seemed a fine handyman but It took him more than double the estimated time to do it. Initially they wanted to charge me in full. After a lot of arguments and frustration they charged in the end for less than the actual time but still 45% more than the initial time estimate plus extremely marked up material costs and dispatch costs (I was not told the dispatch cost in advance, nor their markup policy). Communication with them was not good. Even after Brian arrived and saw that it's more work, he was reluctant to estimate how much time it would take and when he did he still underestimated a lot. Their manager and franchise owner Shawn says that they charge by hours and estimate is just guidance. However people hire based on this. They did not provide the estimate in writing before, and their payment tablet app, where they show you the total to pay, does not show the breakup of the costs into materials, labor, and dispatch. In the final bill they made a "mistake" of doubling the dispatch cost. Another unpleasant experience: at the end of the first day Brian left me with noisy dripping valve into bucket all night. At the second day they suggested I buy some materials to save time and money - I said OK, but because Brian was initially wrong on part size, I had to go twice. They promised to dispose of the removed materials, then intended to renege on it - eventually, after my protest, at least took the heavy staff. Bottom line - they are very poor in giving estimate, they don't respect their own estimates. Poor transparency in billing app/tablet, and poor communication.

The job was completed in less than an hour, and Shawn took the time to teach me a little about the issue at hand and the way he chose to correct it. I HIGHLY recommend this service! The first guy spent not even three hours, and I supplied most of the materials. We were invoiced almost $1000 for the job, and it was so poorly done (uneven and gappy laminate flooring and terrible gaps and chips in the molding) that we called Mr. Handyman to have it redone. Another guy came out and fixed what was badly done by the first guy, but we had to come up with another $125 for more materials. In total, we paid just over $1,100 for what should have a been a two hour job that (had I had the time; we were packing a trailer to move) I could easily have done myself. MAJOR stressful, and outrageously expensive! So, yes, use Mr. Handyman if you like paying more than twice what a job should cost and having the "first pass" be an obviously unacceptable result.Service: Install flooring

Affordable and quality work done. Needed walls repair. They came on time and date stated. Did a great job. Also two shut off valves under kitchen sink needed to be repaired. They were replaced. Again the work was done quickly and correctly. Highly recommended.

The handyman was scheduled to caulk skylights and gutters as well as clean the gutters and reattach in a few places to fascia. He showed up on time, but he did not seal the gutters as he stated they were wet after cleaning them. However I had high quality caulk made for wet conditions and he still refused and said hes return to complete the caulking when it was dry, but did not. He make a mess of the driveway from the mud and roofing grit blasted out of the gutters and did not clean this, so I had to wash down mess off driveway and surrounding trim etc myself later. He repaired gutters pulling away from the fascia but did not make sure the gutters were level so they still drained the wrong way and holding water. Another handyman had to be hired to repair the gutters and re-level them and seal them at additional expense to me. At the end of this first Handyman's (of Brighton) work he asked if there was anything else he could help me with, and so I asked if he could install a few safety rails in bathroom (over tile) I even had the correct tile drill bits, but he said "no" he had never done that before, and then I asked if he could install a new electrical receptacle in basement and he said Yes, that is easy but asked me for household grade electrical wire, (I did not have it - who has that around the house?) so he couldn't do it as he did not carry house electrical wire on his truck. I can't recommend this service, it could of been the particular man they sent out, but this was very costly 436 for gutter wash and a few gutter fasteners and caulk 3 skylights. Again, he never came back to finally seal gutters and when I hired another man, he had to redo this first man's work, all at additional cost to me. he couldn't perform safety bar install nor a simple electrical receptacle install. This business is not so handy after all, and very expensive for messy gutter work that was completed.

From the initial phone call to schedule the appointment to our handyman, Thomas, finishing the work at our home, everyone we worked with was very polite and professional. Thomas did an excellent job repairing and texturing many drywall holes and dings in our walls. He cleaned up after himself and worked quickly. We will definitely use Mr Handyman again in the future.

I was very impressed with the work that Thomas did for me. I have been needing work at my place for a while. I have friends that promise to come do the work but never do. I decided to call Mr Handyman and felt as ease with the call I made to make an appointment. I got a text message stating that Thomas was on his way. He showed up about 15 minutes after the text. He looked at what needed to be done and it didn't take long before the job was done. I am a sales person myself and was impressed that ask what else other I might be needing. I mentioned some other work and he gave me a quote right away. A very smart move to up sell!I will definitely call back for more work and will recommend to others!

This was an Install replacement of an existing rooftop evaporative cooler. The handyman was well experienced, knocked it out in a little less than 3 hours, and saved me around 2000$ .The 2 quotes I received from HVAC companies ran approx 2500 for the same job.Relaxing in my cool house on a 100 deg day!

Surprised by the positive reviews, I must have been unlucky.I wanted two door hinges replacing with the spring loaded ones - trying to explain what I wanted was an ordeal, the guy went away to do a quote (he literally disappeared! I called the office to find out whats going on, I get an insane quote back, 3 hours of labor to change two hinges?He then randomly turns up later with the quote, I do another round of explaining, of which we get to a better understanding. I told him I would be out between X and Y, so if he's coming back, to turn up before or after then or give me a call to check - no call and literally turns up a minute after I said I would be out... sigh.The office called to double check some stuff, I wanted to make sure he got something I wanted it to be replaced with - which he was close. I asked about the crazy quote price they reduced it a little then wanted a deposit which was a red flag. Thankfully cancelled everything before any damage was done!Maybe I got someone on a bad day, but was a pretty terrible experience over all - felt super shady.I think like allot of these services, it really depends who you get.

Mr. Handyman of Brighton is always great. This time I asked them fix my garage door, but they were unable to do so because it required a special part that they can not order. So they let me know right away so I could call a qualified repairman. This is integrity at its best!
