Rudest customer service of any Safeway I’ve been so far! I wanted to return an item I just purchased with my receipt, A skinny dark guy was so rude treating me like he was doing me a favor, ordering me around. Also he refused ti give me back my receipt that has over $200 other purchases after my return was made. Very unprofessional treatment !

I have been shopping here for years. Not once have I ever caused a disturbance or scene. I shop and mind my own business like every other normal behaving Boulder resident.The last two times that I entered this store while another certain employee was working, this specific employee has incorrectly mistook me for someone else and harassed me because of it, which is the purpose behind this review and 1 star rating. During both of these incidences, I felt I was being incorrectly targeted and has left me feeling uncomfortable, which is absurd because I have never done anything wrong, nor interacted with this employee before.Upon entering the store and this employee seeing me, this employee thinks I am up to no good. I personally believe it is because of my attire or how I physically look. In this employee's defense, I have observed them deal with unruly customers multiple times. I am sure it is tiresome.The first instance, I entered the store and this employee immediately questioned me, which I simply ignored, mainly because I had headphones in. I continued walking and I observed this employee monitoring me from a distance. This made me feel very uncomfortable as I am just trying to do my grocery shopping.On the second instance where they incorrectly mistook me for someone who is up to no good, I had arrived at Safeway on my bicycle and coincidentally and immediately upon arriving, this very same employee was yelling at another individual who was walking away. This employee could be heard yelling "i'll kick your a**" and other obsenities to this individual who was walking away from the buildilng. I am assuming the individual walking away must have done something bad while in the store. This employee did not see me outside as I secured my bike.I entered and went to the soda aisle like usual. This employee can be heard yelling in the background to another employee about the police, something like that. It was not my business. Upon picking up a pack of Diet Dr. Pepper in the soda aisle, this employee and I made eye contact. Because of this employee's hyper-vigilantism, they immediately yelled: "Okay, I have had enough. I am calling the cops. We have a repeat offender." This employee is referring to me as the 'repeat offender'. I did not appreciate this at all as it made me feel like something is wrong with how I look. I am just minding my own business.Again, in this employee's defense, I was wearing black, which the person they were yelling at outside also was wearing. I think the similiar clothing style triggered this employee when they saw me in the soda aisle picking up my Diet Dr. Pepper. I ignored this employee's cry about calling the police on me and continued my shopping. The employee did not approach me after this nor did I see them again that night.Regardless, I was incorrectly harassed by a certain employee at this Safeway twice. And both times it has made me feel uncomfortable overall. I shopped here for years and have never caused a problem. I am kind to everyone and all the employees. Doyle is great. But this one, other employee there really is ruining my experience and makes me reluctant to shop there now. I fear the next time I try to shop at this specific Safeway and this employee sees me, this employee will tell me I have to leave immediately upon entering as well as threaten to call the police.Also, this Safeway at night could do a better job restocking the handbaskets at the front of the store. The first time this employee harassed me and monitored me, I did not have a handbasket in my hand because none were available at the front. I always grab one if they are there. Had I had one in my hand, I might have stood out less to this employee.Also, I have observed this employee watching movies on their iPhone at the self-checkout register where the employees stand.I do not care if employees watch movies on downtime, but the harassment I unnecessarily experienced, twice, is inexcusable. I am more than happy to identify this employee if need.

They do not stock or staff their store well enough to handle the traffic that they get. I routinely have to ask for assistance just to check out. And their inventory is never accurate. I would recommend going to any other Safeway in Boulder than this one. They are all way better at staffing and managing their stores

I'm spending less money than I intend to each time I go because they can't be bothered to put baskets out and I literally can't carry all the groceries I wanted to buy. King Soopers has no such problem.

Safeway is best grocery I guess, they are clean and it is a place that make you feel safe. Just dont expect a very cheap price.

While I understand Safeway has a responsibility to its shareholders to sell me products. I resent the sensation of being on a whacky scavenger hunt when the majority of my common staples are inexplicably relocated.It wouldn't be so bad if Safeway had a bunch of helpful staff wandering about but their priority seems to be arguing about workload and taking smoke breaks. There should be 3 staff members on the floor for 2 weeks after a rearrangement to offset the inconvenience.Id rather not have starbucks manned in favor of getting my pregnant wife her chicken nuggets. Ive been doing this for months without issue.

This Safeway is awful, especially compared to the Safeway on 28th and Iris. This location never has half the things I am shopping for most of the time and I am consistently finding expired prepared foods at this location which earned this one star rating. Save yourself the trouble and go to the 28th and Iris Safeway. Seriously.

Always understaffed, no one wants to help due to already being overworked. They never have baskets available and rarely have the doors and bathrooms working properly. If I was the district manager I’d be pretty bummed about this place.

This Safeway location is constantly understaffed and it takes forever to check out every time I go. I’ll avoid this location and go to the competitors from now on if the lines continue to be ridiculously long. Step it up Safeway!

Just a shout out thumbs up to Safeway on Arapahoe at 28th for being a clean well organized store that was actually pleasant to shop in. Needed something only Safeway has and my former usual one, 28th at Iris, has gone downhill both inside and out in my experience so rarely go. Stopped in to the Arapahoe store yesterday, easy parking and the store is right size ( compared to the other larger one) and after my run to the cereal aisle for the coveted Peanut Butter Chex on sale for 2/$5.00 lol, I browsed the store and found every department very clean and easy to shop. Helper at the self check out very nice too. If you haven’t been there in a while I am recommending.

Great selections, online coupons really help to save money on the products I buy most often. Hard to find my favorite limeade anywhere else.Safeway is changing the whole model of how the store is laid out. It is very confusing as no one seems to know where anything is,in this total facelift of a store. Maybe in the end it will be a good idea, but as for now, I can't say that it is 😰But it's getting better little by little.They are getting settled with the new arrangement and the addition of the wine throughout the store.

Everytime I come here it seems they re-arrange items I am used to finding. Supermarkets should have a feel of familiarity. Why do they feel the need to move deli mashed potatoes around every 2 weeks? The staff even couldnt find it. ("It was here last week but looks like they moved it again" ). Even though employees seem friendly... You can easily tell they are burdoned with heavy workload and stress.

Terrible customer service experience today. I was standing at the unmanned Customer Service desk waiting for someone to help me for a few minutes when an employee walked up and literally said, “Don’t look at me for help” and then helped another customer with a cigarette purchase. He reluctantly asked another employee to help me and she also could not help with a money order because she was just transferred here from another store. I totally understand not being able to help, but the lack of empathy and basic customer service skills shown by two employees just cost Safeway a long time customer.

The closing manager "Jack" is very rude and unprofessional. He started cussing at my friend and I across the entire store while we were trying to find heavy whipping cream, all because it was 7 minutes to closing time. But he kept trying to kick us out early "Because he wants to go the &#^% home". Words from his mouth were not the to be used by a "Manager". Telling us "Are you guys going to #$%king close out now!". He yelled that from the self checkout area, all the way to us near the dairy section. I had expressed to him that he was acting very unprofessional, and he tells me "I don't have to listen to someone like you, I've worked here 10 years!". I will be back to discuss this scenario with the general store manager tomorrow. This man should either be fired or switched to a different shift if he can't handle keeping the store open until 11.

There was a woman in the store today who was obvious having a mental breakdown due to losing a person. She was caring for in the store. I do not know the exact situation but I do know an employee named Natalie was loudly talking about the woman and how she was crazy, further upsetting the woman in crisis. Real nice way to diffuse a bad situation where a person needed patience and kindness during a time of crisis. I know your store is not staffed nearly enough for the volume but you’ve gotta train your employees to not be garbage humans. Natalie-treat people how you’d want someone to treat your sister or mother. I rarely come here anyway, I just spent $300 here and I will never come back. Go to king soopers, they are staffed, their staff is kind and it’s actually managed

Absolutely insane that they would make an employee individually walk each customer to the bathroom so that they can unlock it. I had three employees standing around trying to decide who would be the one to walk all the way back there with me. Just unlock them and inspect more often, this isn’t an appropriate fix

The guy on check stand 3 at 7:30pm Monday May 1st was an absolute embarrassment. I greeted him and he in a surly moan I thought was "hello", yet he was asking for ID for beer, I laughed and gave him my ID and proceeded to ask how his day was and again in a vacant surely tone mumbling again typing away on his iPhone as I purchased items from your company with my daughter there to witness all the glory of someone who not only didn't give a s**t but made it very clear he was annoyed about us chosing to have a cashier instead of self checkout. Wow! In 25 years at that location that was epic!

We do most of our grocery shopping here. We were very dissatisfied yesterday when we went in to grab a few things, and because there was a large event going on, they weren't letting anyone, including paying customers, use the restrooms. My wife is 7 months pregnant, and as such, should have been given access to the restroom. We shop here because of proximity to home, but I think we'll venture a little further out to pregnancy-friendly grocers a little down the street.

I've been on a very particular medication for 7 years that's essential to my ability to function normally. There's been a complicated supply problem in my area that's forced me to bounce from CVS to Walgreens to King Soopers and now, finally, Safeway. Frankly, I REALLY wish I'd just started this process at Safeway to begin with (especially considering I do most of my grocery shopping there anyway). Not only have they been able to quickly and regularly fill my script (Store #2911), the pharmacy staff has been extraordinarily friendly and sympathetic about the importance of the medication. Additionally, the Safeway App was extremely easy to setup and allows me to quickly submit refills, check status, receive notifications, etc. This was 100% NOT the case with the other pharmacies' apps. Moreover, the other pharmacies rarely even pick up the phone, requiring 2 or 3 trips to the store to fill one prescription. Thanks Safeway!

I am extremely disappointed with the Safeway store on Arapaho in Boulder. The website indicates that certain items are in stock, but every time I have gone there, they have not been available. This has happened three times now, and I am fed up. I rely on this store for my grocery needs, and their lack of accurate inventory tracking has caused me a lot of inconvenience and frustration. I will never be using this store again and would strongly advise others to avoid it as well. Safeway on Arapaho in Boulder clearly does not prioritize customer satisfaction, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We haven't been in store very often since the pandemic started and we typically do grocery pick up at a different safeway location, the only reason we went in here was for our vaccination booster. Our appointments went very smooth even though we were a little late for one. The pharmacist giving them was the most gentle the husband and I have ever had with injections.The store wasn't busy so we decided to shop around a little. We will be switching our store pick up locations to this one now after the great experience, bonus it is closer to home.

Thanks again for a wonderful experience! I asked your name but after talking to too many people today I forgot it. Sorry. I had purchased a brand of dishwasher soap I had never used but it was the only one available besides bulk sizes which would take a long-time to use since I only run the dishwasher once a week. You were so kind and I really appreciate your help and how well you knew your job. Wow!To all the other employees, this location is great! For example, there have been many employees that exhausted from sleep, school, work, or whatnot and yet they still went out of their way to smile and say hi. That's cool! And not just to me, but to the customers they were checking out as well. I was an employee of the hospitality/service industry for 22 years and can definitely say that y'all are great. Thank you!Note: Hard workers know how to push through the toughest of days! During this time of social distancing even the smallest smiles and/or hellos are really big for us all. Thank you all for truly caring! It's the people who care in this world that will do great things as we evolve and move forward past the pandemic.
