I have used Petco on Ironton for the last 5 years. Ever since I bought my Skype, they have always done a wonderful job. Today when we took him in there was a new person that we had not used before. She claimed that she had to cut him really low because his hair was matted which was not true. But it was okay because I wanted him cut low anyway and I didn't mind having to lose the skirt for a while. When I picked him up he was butchered. She cut off his beard. He is a Scottish terrier who in the world cuts off the beard of a Scottish terrier. She butchered him. His hair on the back of his neck is cut up. Hat is uneven. She cut his face so low. You can actually see skin on his nose. I have never seen anything so horrible in my life. I am literally in tears. I cannot believe anyone who has any professional grooming experience could do this to an animal and when my daughter complain she got a very nasty attitude and told us where we could just take him somewhere else the next time. I've been coming here for 5 years and this is how she treated me. I will never ever let that store touch my dog ever again and I cannot believe the rudeness of the staff and the manager just sit there and let her talk. You know disrespectful to us. We've been customers there for over 5 years and I've been a customer with Petco itself. A lot longer than that, but it looks like I will be finding another place to groom my animal. I'm going to show you pictures of what she did to my Scottish Terry. It should be against the law.

I want to start off my review by stating that I am not a Karen. It takes a lot of disrespect for me to be bothered to write a review.I took my pup on a hike this morning and she decided to bath herself in a creek. I usually take my dog to the vet for grooming or bathe her myself. I decided to just give this location a try since it seemed like quite the package deal.I made an appointment for a bath service for my 6 month puppy who yes is a Malinois. I usually take my pup to get groomed at the vet where they take good care of her (I also went to PetSmart two weeks ago for a nail trim and they delivered results). My complaint is not with the person who was going to do my dog's service, but the person that was working alongside her, called Oreo. The person who was in charge of the service seemed rather new since she was nervous to receive my dog. my dog is very timid but not at all aggressive, as she is socialized every single day with friends, Homedepot (they love her there), Nordstrom (the old ladies love her there), community dog park, etc. I am stating all of this because I think I do a good job as a dog mom, and I invest a lot of time into her to make sure she's being raised properly and trained. I don't abuse or neglect or deprive my puppy of its needs especially as a Malinois. Anyways, I was told that this service would take an hour and a half to two hours. I decided to roam around the store for about an hour, texting my mom, looking at the fish, and finally making a purchase. I figured I would wait for my pup. As I was making the purchase, the girl who was in charge of my service (I did not remember her name, I'm sorry if you're reading this) came and got me and told me that we needed to talk. She essentially said that my dog was very nervous and didn't even want to leave the crate they put her in. Oreo decided to input and was extremely rude. She said something along the lines of how I have a Malinois and that she has Malinois (probably less than 2 months old--which was at the store in one of the crates) and that I need a trainer, that she's too nervous and will eventually end up biting someone and being put down. Yes, Oreo said this. So the reason I am writing this review is 1) you guys didn't even try to give her service which is fine if you fear for your life you SHOULD have called me immediately, you had my number and called me right as I left my pup to make sure you had a good number. I did not have to waste 50 minutes at a store. 2) You don't speak down on customers saying that your dog is going to be put down. 3) I already have a trainer and you could have said things nicely if you wanted to get a point across -- this is why I am not upset with the girl that received me, she honestly did try to somewhat deliver okay customer service ...4) my dog peed itself in the crate from nervousness when she peed right before going in the store -- I was told I could buy pet wipes, you really could have just at least given me a moist rag ??But anyways moral of this story, if you have a notorious breed and even if it's the sweetest thing ever don't settle for cheap and lack of experience. I pay triple at the vet for these services and I learned my lesson to stick with them. They have never disrespected me and they have breed experience as well as puppy experience.Also this is my pup after her bath at home ... hard to get into the bath but once she's there she just stands like a statue.

I walked in here to get bugs for my little dragon and the things I saw is very disturbing. Dead animals in cages and poop all over cages. This obviously shows that this place doesn’t take care of their animals. I would stay away from buying any animals from here. If you do have it looked at by a vet right away. Again very difficult to see this. And they call them self experienced pet handlers smh.

Petco/Vetco, 1350 S Ironton st Aurora CO.I had an emergency with my fur baby and was calling around and couldn't get an appointment, but didn't give and made one more call, so happy I did! They had a 2:30pm appointment.....despite me being 15 minutes late they didn't turn us away.Everyone was very professional and polite. Receptionist: Ashley, Nurse: Martha, Veterinarian: Dr Jazmin....simply awesome! Thank you!

I would honestly like to give them a zero star. I took my dog there this morning to get groomed for the first time he’s a Siberian husky very friendly, and the lady behind the counter called me 10 minutes after dropping him off, saying that he tried to nip at her while giving him a bath I went to pick him up, and he was soaking wet. They barely offered me a towel to dry him home while drying him I learned that there was still soap on his fur. This was unprofessional and unacceptable. I will not be returning to this place ever again.

I tried to order my dog’s RX food for pickup before traveling from NY to CO. It showed available but wouldn’t let me place the pickup order. So I called the store and an associate checked stock and told me there was plenty so I would just need to bring a written prescription from my vet to show at check out. When I got to the store, the manager at the checkout would not allow me to buy the food. Told me I had to come back when their vet was there. I went to PetSmart where I was able to get my dog’s food without any hassle. Petco clearly has little regard for customers and pets. I will NEVER EVER be a customer again even if I have to pay more and go out of my way to shop for my pets elsewhere.

Service so rude. Did not care about me or my dog. For starters I booked online at the time they have posted available. 3:15. I get a call at 8am of the day of appointment saying 3:15 is too late of a time to book an appointment. (It’s what they had available on their website, now ‘I’ have a inconvenience to my day.) Changed it to 1:30, came in early to deal with paperwork issue. There was no helping figuring things out, finding a solution, nothing. Simply rude. Will not be coming back. You expect the best customer service for your furry friends.

Vetco staff at 1350 S Ironton StAurora, CO 80012 are fantastic. Jon the tec is very gentle and compassionate with our dog. Dr Jazmine and Dr Kelly are very knowledgeable, attentive and explain everything in great detail. We really felt taken care of here. Our little Shihtzu was diagnosed with Hemolytic Anemia and they were able to help us get her better and back to her normal self again.

I needed a bag of my dog's Lamb and Brown Rice Nutro. There was only the large 30# bag or the smallest size. All the people available to ask were chatting with each other and never asked if I needed help so I had to "interrupt" them. When I asked if the medium size was available I was just told no. When I asked if other Petco locations would have the size I wanted I was told they might. No offer to call other locations for me before I wasted a trip driving there.

If I could give zero I would!!!Do not take your pet to Emily the groomer at the Aurora s. Ironton Petco store. I made an appointment and came to groom my dog and this particular groomer is just a swindler who overcharged me for a bath and a shave of my dog. I have usually been paying $65-75$ dollars and with inflation the prices went up to 100$ to groom my dog, which is fine and understandable. Emily the groomer charged me 134.99$ for my usual groom. She then preceded to try to get more money out of me by saying oh it's been a while since your groom and if you want to file the dogs nails it's an extra charge we cut the nails but dobt file them unless you pay extra. On top of that she charged my dog the price for a large golden doodle when my dog is a standard size pure breed poodle. I kept telling her that and she kept arguing and telling me that in the system he is a golden doodle and I'm not going to change that and that's how I'm going to charge. She then began to tell me that anyone else would charge me $150 to groom my dog. I have previously groomed, my dog at chewy's boutique boutique and I was charged $90 for a full groom and nail trim and file and a bath as well as cleaning the ears and everything that's included in a full grown and I was not charged $150 but only $90. The haircut that I got for my dog was a full shave as I always do because his hair grows really quickly so I try to keep it really really short so that he's more comfortable and for that I was charged $134.99. it is absolutely ridiculous that Petco does not have a grooming manager that can put proper standards for their groomers not to overcharge clients and not to try to swindle clients that have been going to that Petco for a while. We are a pet owning family, as well as our friends and family who own pets, and I can assure you not myself nor any of my friends and family members will ever be going to Petco to buy our supplies of food, or to even groom our pets after this experience, because if they cannot have a groomer who can fairly charge their clients, and then sit there and argue about the fact that when I have a standard size poodle dog that I've had since he was a puppy and telling me that I the owner have the wrong dog and that my dog is really a goldendoodle when he is not is absolutely ridiculous.I went to a sales associate at the cash register to ask if there is a manager that I can speak to, and the sales associate told me that I am not the only person that has complaints about this particular groomer by the name of Emily.An absolute zero to this store and groomer.

Today is 3/22/24, I took my pet to VETCO at this location her appt was at 0815. I arrived and got her services done. I checked out on my receipt it says at 0845 and noticed the gate to the PETCO was opened a quarter of the way so I figured they were opened. I walk through the whole store for 7 minutes and had the stuff in my hand that I wanted to purchase, and no one approached.I started walking to the front of the store and there was a gal that was giving water to the pets their and she politely told me that the store did not open til 0900 and it was now 0853. The gal asked me to walk to the front of the store and I did. I walked to the front and stood by the registers not bothering anyone or anything, just stood there.At 0855 a black bald man approached me and proceeded to tell me what the gal had already told me, and I responded with, "I was already told to come to the front of the store because the store was not open." The man proceeded to tell me the store is not open. I responded with, "I understand that that is why I am standing here to check out when it opens."At 0857 the man approached me again to tell me the same thing, I did not respond. At 0900 the man came to sign into the register and proceeded to tell me about the store hours talking to me like I am an idiot. With no eye contact I told the man, "I am not going to argue can I just pay for my stuff. Please just ring me up." The man continued to talk down to me in a condescending way. I told the man, "You are making me very uncomfortable can you just please ring my stuff up so I can leave the store."The man again talking to me like I violated his peace when it was clearly the other way around. I went to record the rest of the conversation and the man told me that he would not ring me up, took my stuff and threw them behind the counter and told me I was being disrespectful, and I needed to leave the store (this all being recorded which I will share with corporate and the district manager). Needless to say, when I asked for the manager, the man told me that he was the General Manager, which left me in disbelief of how unprofessional he was and the way he was talking to me (again I have the recording) and the position said he held.To the district manager/Corporate office of PETCO I think this man should be demoted or fired for his harassment of a customer that has been going into your store for over 15 years. As a matter of fact, I was in your store last week and everyone was nice. This man does not know how to speak to people and has taken his position to a place of power to demean others and his communication and customer service skills suck.If the District Manager and Coporate Office views the video they can see the whole thing.If the General Manager put himself in the customers shoes, the gate was a quarter of the way open, the perception of the customer is to walk in you are open. No, you sat there and talked down and me and threw me out of the store for no reason. I was not yelling at you, I was talking calmly, I even told you that you were making me uncomfortable does that sound like a confrontational person. No sir you were confrontational, rude, and abusive, you didn't have to yell it was you wording.I went into VETCO a happy, peaceful person receiving my services and left PETCO a nervous wreck the way I was talked down to and verbally abused basically. Sir you can't just talk to people the way you want to, you have corporate/store policy that you need to follow. If you can't obey the company's rules than you need to be removed.NO CUSTOMER DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE I WAS TODAY!

Prices aren't as advertised on online they are higher and the selection and organization is lacking the store seems to have some much that it's stacked on the ends of the aisle when in reality it's the same products just overstocked. The cashier at the front offered no education or resolution and simply said that the system must not be reflecting correctly online instead offering a viable solution or price adjustment Do your pet shopping somewhere else.

Not everybody knows and understands reptile care, and you’d hope a store that sells reptiles would take the time to learn so they could properly educate. I’m tired of Petco supporting breeding mills and irresponsible breeding, but if they’re gonna do it anyway despite how pathetic that is morally at LEAST properly care for the animals. They have 3 ball pythons in one tank together-literally the first rule of snake care is to not keep them together. In this photo you can see two of them are fighting for best spot (this is what fighting/dominating looks like in ball pythons) and ones blue so this is especially dangerous for its health. Multiple ball pythons together can lead to poor health, improper heat (as only one can get the spot with a temperature they prefer), improper humidity (not that Petco has ever cared about humidity anyway), and often premature death. Do better Petco.

Easy parking lot, always spots. Just 2 checkout lines, and only one seems to be manned unless the line gets 10 deep (which it tends to).They always seem to be out of the brand of Blue Buffalo cat food I want, but a decent selection.Dog and cat grooming on site, but proof of updated vaccination is required for those services.Prices can be high, but they also have lots of 20% off sales.

Isiah was super nice and patient. There was a long line & I said go ahead and take care of everyone as I was waiting for the Amazon QR codes. We got all the Amazon stuff squared away! We spoke after I purchased some cat supplies about cats hunting and bringing us gifts . Then how I wanted to adopt one of the ferrets. This manager of yours thinks he's the owner Ric ! will provoke the customer! or stoned! I politely asked if I wanted a package. At first he scanned it right there in the basket. I said give me the package. He still did it his way! I again asked for the package, he didn’t give it, he said you have to pay for the package, I said ok anyway he didn’t give and didn’t charge! I said I don’t want you serve me and he told me I am manager !The manager must behave well and not like a boss! know your place! respect costumer! the manager should help! Such people should be fired, I’m sure he does this to every client every day!

Cashiers were nice and welcoming when we walked in. One of my dogs went to the bathroom in the store. They offered to clean it up but I declined. It was nice they offered. I came in today to get some treats from the treat bar. 1lb of two different flavors. Turkey treats and ginger bear treats. Filled over 2 quart jars. Until next time.

Very neat and clean store. Some products are difficult to find, but the employees are always very helpful. I came for stool eating preventive for my puppy. I needed help finding it, as it was at floor level and in an odd place, but the price wasn't too bad. $15 for a two month supply.

The three stars are for the staff, they were very nice, but I was disappointed in the selection of cat toy in the store. There were no interactive toys or blankets of any kind. Instead, there are TWO isles of animal clothes and I do not mean the dog coats, I understand those. I do not want to dress up my kitty, I want to play with him.

Friendly service and love their wholehearted brand and deal. Helps when you have so many dogs, the 9th bag of dog food is free, I think up to $40. I buy the huge bags and pay less than $15 on my 9th bag and they are normally $55. The high protein food is what I get for my bullys.

Very disappointed in your PetCo rewards program. Whenever someone purchases anything from your stores, those points should be AUTOMATICALLY applied to their account. The Customer should not be required to take any additional action to "validate" any purchase and "apply for" a reward that has already been earned. Your system likely saves your company thousands of dollars in unused rewards that many customers aren't able or willing to validate before they expire. Cute trick, PetCo!!! Congratulations on a scheme to take away earned rewards from your customers. Petsmart's system is AUTOMATIC! Yours isn't.

Most of the aisles aren't wheelchair accessible so maneuvering, especially with my service dog, is tricky. I mentioned this to an employee and was told, Yeah we know and we don't even display half of what corporate wants us to.

OMG!!!!! Really? These people expect us to buy their expensive pet foods and pets but refuse to let a customer use the restroom. They just lost $40 of fish sales.
