I visited Matchbook Winery while visiting my sister. We had a really lovey and relaxing evening. The outdoor seating comes with fantastic vineyard views and great service. They rotate food trucks/vendors weekly. They had Pizza from the Hearth the for my visit and their Napoleon style pizzas were excellent! You put in your order with your server and they deliver right to your table, which was nice. For our wine we tried a bottle of the new Pillars Red Blend that they are offering. It was very good, bold and a little spicy... Definitely better with food than just drinking alone (in my opinion) and paired well with our pizzas. They also offer a wine flight so you can try multiple wines. I'll definitely return on another visit to Nor Cal!

Have not yet had the pleasure of a visit to the winery - BUT just cracked open a bottle of your 2021 Petite Sirah from a local store here in Portland, OR. Delicious! - especially for a red so young. We visit family in Placerville pretty much yearly, so thinking we may need to veer off I-5 on our way for the full experience.

The winery and the location are beautiful. They have several lines of wine, including estate wines, Spanish varietals, wines made from Russian river grapes and a collaboration with a New Zealand winemaker. We really like their Arsonist red blend as well as their selection of whites and roses, which we tend to opt for when sitting out on their patio on a warm summer afternoon (and listening to great music on their vineyard stage if it's a Saturday in the summer).

Besides having a delicious variety of wines, the winery has a lovely visitors area that is family and pet friendly. The server who took care of out tasting today was amazing and knowledgeable. Everyone here was amazing!

What a beautiful, scenic venue to taste excellent wines. The staff is very friendly and eager to share a plethora of info about grapes, winemaking and wine in general and Matchbook Wines in particular. There was no charge for the tasting. Bottles are very reasonably priced. The only thing lacking is the opportunity to purchase cheese and crackers or other snacks (if you don't come when a food truck event is occurring). So, bring your own munchies if you want to drink up.

I live in CT and thankfully Matchbook wines are sold at my local bottle shops. Very good value for the money, especially their red blend! Highly recommended by someone who has drank wines from 6.99 a bottle to 380.00 a bottle at vineyards across the country.

I've been coming here with my parents for years. One of our favorite wineries of all time. Staff are very knowledgeable about the wines and accommodating for my brother with Autism. Great wine tasting and price on bottles. It's hard to choose a favorite so get them all!Great view as the sun sets over the vineyard. Great for photos and days you want to be memorable.

A while ago I attended a wine tasting that was company paid for- but we were still stopped on the way out and told we needed to pay. They were rude and embarrassing so we just quickly paid and left, only to find out later they were in fact wrong and the company had already paid for the tasting. Would never return to such an uncomfortable and unwelcoming place, and I will always tell people not to come here

Great venue—great wine! Had reservations and waited 40 min for a glass of wine. An amazing employee named Wendy finally served me after Anna was sidelined by a table of 8. Ordered food and it’s been 2 hours and 50 minutes and we just left and we still haven’t received a text saying our gyro is ready. Heard the breaker tripped twice heard a matchbook employee cancelled all good orders (after I was told my food would be ready in ten minutes)....I’m not sure what happened but it wasn’t the great Friday Happy Hour I envisioned.

Had a blast! Our server Aileen was awesome, and knowledgeable. They are having different Food trucks on site this weekend and today was " Pollo Inferno" and they are Hot Hot Hot!!! Too busy stuffing my face to get a picture but trust me the Shrimp Lomo is the bomb! Enjoy

It's a nice looking winery in a nice setting, a friend rented the place for the late afternoon, 4.30 to apparently 7.30 sharp. I felt like at7.00pm the help started picking up trash cans,chairs and etc, very tacky!! Very much felt shoveled out the door, like it's nice you came, spend your money and now it's time to Go!! Like some tourist towns glad you came now go home. 700.00 dollars for 3hrs, I don't think so, very much Napa attitude. I'm sorry but I could of threw the party in my backyard.

The scenery alone got this place their stars. Absolutely incredible views. As for the tasting itself, the sommelier was experienced and very knowledgeable. The whites, which are usually my favorite did lack a bit as far as taste goes, but the petite syrah made up for the rest of them. I would definitely go back for the beautiful views and to try another round of tasting as they change monthly.

We just enjoyed a bottle of Musque Chardonnay and it was every bit as good as your description. It is a very interesting taste enjoyed it so much. I am going to try your other wines now I haven't tasted Matchbook wines previously, but very impressed with your quality. Best,Patricia Clark

What should have been a wonderful winetasting experience was a great disappointment for me and my friend when we visited Matchbook as soon as it opened its doors one weekend morning. I was excited about visiting this winery because I was particularly interested in tasting its Sauvignon blanc. After paying what I thought was a rather steep tasting fee given the area and limited number of wine tastes offered, I became further disillusioned when the pourer informed me in no uncertain terms that they were not serving the Sauvignon blanc that day even though it was on the list. Once she stepped away from the serving area and a senior staff member came by, I had the opportunity to gently express to him how disappointed I was to learn that they were not pouring my favorite wine that day. He took the young lady aside, chatted with her a bit, and the next thing I knew we were tasting the Sauvignon blanc! While he saved the day for us, due to our pourer's attitude we won't be returning to Matchbook anytime soon.

Through the years I have enjoyed visiting small wineries throughout Nothernern California. Originally I heard of Matchbook winery because of Cousins Maine Lobster food truck of Sacramento going to cater at the winery.Winery experience:The service was horrible. The people serving wine (bought a botttle of wine) gave me the impression that they did not want to be there. The wine glasses were dirty and discusting! There was a lack of seating at the event, and had left family memebers standing up which is unacceptable! We finished our bottle, and waited for a server to order more wine, but no one came come around. Experience was very upsetting so we left the event early .Food truck experience:Cousins Maine Lobster food truck was delicious! We ordered the lobster roll, clam chowder, and tater tots with lobster.
