At exactly 10:59am Tuesday April 30th, I had a very bad experience with Mario T. The employee at the meat section.When our number was called #15, Mario was the employee to help me out.I was with my mother doing her grocery shopping. My mom had a stroke about a year half ago and she’s fully not recovered but doing her best to live a normal life. At the moment she has what is called Aphasia. A disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension.My mom was telling Mario what she wanted but had trouble remembering the type of meat she wanted. My mom informed him before if he could be patience with her because she had stroke in the past. Mario avoided her statement and continue rushing my mom and being rude to her.My mom made a simple mistake and got 2 meats confused and corrected herself shortly, Mario then stated “Well that’s not what you said earlier”. Another statement coming from Mario was “ Okay, I heard you the first time.” Of course, all of this was in spanish.Mario continue rushing my mom and felt unwelcome during her experience.This is the first time this has ever happened to us in this location. We live 5 minutes from here and we’re considering going to Long Beach locations to avoid this ever happening again.It’s unfortunate that employees like him could damage Northgate reputation in the future.

I didn’t want to make tamales this year for Christmas. I decided to give this place a shot. The beef tamales were the BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBB!!!! So good definitely coming back for more!! Great price $2.50 each

Inside is modern, clean, well stocked and organized and with the best selection of produce, including Mexican in-country produced goods. Ready to eat hot meals, tamales, market made pastries breads , fresh meats, dairy, warning : store prices are not inexpensive, and the neighborhood is not ideal. But I believe, regardless, it is worth shopping there

Nice & clean store, nicely stocked, you can find almost everything you're looking for. I noticed there were long lines of people waiting to be attended in all departments of Store, meat department, Cashier etc.

A great meat quality, but the safety and the precautions around this pandemic time, is really poor.They use to have a safe process at the door and at the meat department, you used to feel secure.... today, labor day, when obviously it was goingtobea lot of people, and they should have more precautions and be prepared, it was a caos inside.Nobody care about the distance between each other, the lady in the microphone only care about screaming about the promotions, instead directing people.I ended really upset, anxious and frustrated with the poor management of that store.It sad that I ended unsafe and unsatisfied inside of one of my favorite store!

I just want to let whoever is in charge of this store know to tell his elderly employee who stocks milk know that I speak Spanish & I understand very clearly his smart remarks when I grabbed my milk. I’m a very nice person & hate complaining. But why complain @ work when others need a job like yours ? Didn’t get his name but an elderly man w glasses stocking milk @ 550 pm likes to make smart remarks if he thinks you don’t speak Spanish.

I wish there was a less than one star rating. Store was crowded (not with customers) and the fellow customers were rude. The prices were high compared to Numero Uno. Most likely will not return.

I live not too far from the Northgate in Wilmington but this location is bigger. And even though the bakery is near the entrance like the Wilmington location, the pan dulce doesn't get flies in it like the Wilmington location does sometimes. I like the Wilmington one but it's always SUPER crowded but that may be because it is so small. And the fly situation seems inevitable because the door never closes with all the people coming and going. So when I'm in the area of this one, it's nice.

Spent this visit at the hot/cold deli. My dad is 93, he asks for items that aren't usually offered in restaurants. They have nopales(cactus) prepared several ways. Also have pork rinds prepared several. He was happy!
