This was the place where we took our camper on its maiden voyage. The location next to the river is really peaceful. Our time was spent sitting on the dock and catching fish. The folks in the store were very accommodating and friendly.I recommend this place as a great place to camp in beginning of May.

What an amazing place to spend some time. . We’re on a tour schedule, so when we have a week off snug harbor is our favorite place to unwind. It’s beautiful, quiet, clean and safe. Danny and the other folks are really helpful and accommodating, and there are a variety of spaces depending on the size of your rig. 100% recommend.

My wife got us the room for my birthday because I was asked what would I like to do on my birthday I said, I want to go fishing . I was told that our room would be right on the water, if I opened the glass door the river would be right there. It wasn't like that, yes they do have some right on there and my wife was told supposedly that they were. I didn't get to fish that much because of the rain. If asked would I go back there? Heck yeah I just want to go fishing.. I give it a 5 star.

What a wonderful stay! And such a great find! A big thank you to Danny at the front desk who made our get-away possible. The house was spacious with all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. Some small minor things could be updated, but overall it met and suited our needs. Whether you're looking for a comfortable cottage for a large group, place to land the trailer, or go camping, Snug Harbor was a welcome spot and all of us look forward to going back. The bonfire and karaoke at night made it even more special at night. It's not easy to get to due to the very limited ferry delta crossings, and once you're there, settle in, but if you're looking for fun on the water and beautiful San Joaquin River Delta vibes and views, Snug Harbor is a great place to stay! Well recommended.

So we discovered this place on our way from Yosemite headed to Mendocino County Manchester decided to take a one-night stay to break up the long drive not a bad place for the price right on the Sacramento River delta first time I ever saw great horned owls mating tons of Wildlife not a lot of amenities around so come prepared as again you are in the middle of the California deltas basically in the middle of nowhere good restaurant right up the road outside of the town l o c k e

We went for the labor day weekend, it was amazing. We had spot #12, the community here is great. The new staff is wonderful, shout out to Danny for just keeping a really awesome attitude and accommodating your guests to the fullest. Though we were not able to catch a fish, we enjoyed the rain and the sunshine all weekend Long! The days are quiet and the nights are silent it's definitely one of the most peaceful sites we have come across. Thanks!

I am a Real Estate Broker in Oregon, with 30+ years under my belt. I found a cute Mini home for sale $88,00. $990.00 land rental-ok! I thought WOW, that’s cheap (From the Bay Area), The agent listed it “Snug Harbor Drive” (Not good)-lead you to believe that it is at the resort, Walnut Grove. Well, Be very careful. There is “Snug Harbor- RV park and it is in the middle of nowhere. - if you want to get away: this might be the place for you! Apparently they have 2 different fairies that run and you can reach the highway pretty quick. If they are not running, bring a sandwich. The road takes you all the way through the county, and it’s a really long drive. My advice is, make sure that you are at the right spot when you are booking it. And be prepared to drive 15 miles to get to the park. The gentleman running the park was very nice and explained to me that The fairy is not real consistent all!!! If you are look to get away, this is the place.BTW- Bring food for the drive and be careful, it has a lot of turns. The store is limited, carry your snacks- Especially with kids. - Don’t make the mistake that I did, yes might be really disappointed.😎

Kind of pricey but a nice place between a slough and the river in the Sacramento Delta. Cabins or camping. Some folks actually live here. Overall a nice place close to the East Bay or Sacramento to get away for the weekend.Nearby activities: Fishing, boat docks, dog park area.

If I could rate a 0 stars I would. The manager Danny was extremely unprofessional and only cares about money and does not care about families who have young children, they mainly care about people 55+ and short stays. 🙄 He gave us only 5 days to find to leave and then threatened us with law enforcement (Officer Pratt) took his side. If we didn't leave we would be arrested and charged with trespassing. He also threatened when I went to the mail box with tresses trespassing even if there had been any mail in my name. The "store" he runs is outrageously priced. It's also where Danny and staff degrade customers in front other customers (witnessed this when we were his "best customers"). He's a very petty and aggressive person who is nice and personable but he's a phony. The bathrooms are not very well kept and are a joke. We were even told that the ones up front were much better to use. Their "game room" was small and over half the games didn't even work. And the machines constantly ate our and other people's quarters. He always said he'd do something about it and never did. We were told the kids could play in the dog run, which we later learned that sewage would constantly seep in there. It was disgusting .So my final comment about (Smug/Snub) Harbor is that place isn't worth you're time or money.

We spent 3 days in a waterfront cabin at Snug Harbor. We had a great time and I was sorry to leave. The owners care for you like family. Dogs have a little park of their own, boat owners of all sorts accommodated, RVs welcome, “snuggle inn” cabins great for families of all sizes. Reasonable rates-friendly people-great location-Snug Harbor. My thing is kayaking and I couldn't have been happier. You can launch from a dock, boat ramp, or their clean sandy beach (my choice). Good location for exploring the waterways of the delta. My friend is into fishing, and spent many hours fishing from the dock located a few steps from our tidy, tiny, well appointed cabin. This place is under new ownership and is nothing like the old place my sister visited a few years ago.The park is quiet (or it was during our November visit), neat, clean, and the owner and their staff were kind, helpful, attentive, all while also respecting our privacy. They made us feel like they sincerely wanted us to enjoy ourselves, which we did.I will definitely be going back in 2023.

For those who travel a lot with a large size family, you will understand just the simple thing as booking a place to ensure everyone is accommodated. Well this is not only a place but a special place to our family. I don’t want to elaborate because this is a special secret place. You will understand when you’re here. Thank you Danny for always trying to accommodate everyone when booking at Snug Harbor. You made us feel special but I found out that you do that for everyone 😂. Again thank you Danny!!

While the place is situated in a fairly quiet and secluded area, that charm is only so deep. We camped here in a tent. I wish someone would have said that this place caters specifically to the RV crowd. The bathroom and shower (singular) are okay at best. They are in serious need of repairs. The docks are in need of serious repairs as well. They are rotting away and there are slats popping up with nails exposed. The main office has a permanent smell of cigarette smoke, and the entire place gives you a vibe of a place to hide from law enforcement, not go camping.

Perfect place to go to enjoy a weekend getaway. Fishing from the docks located right behind your RV. Waterfront views of The River. Wonderful dog park. Convenient dog stations located through the park. You are able to rent kayaks with life vest at the office. Quiet during the week. Beautiful cottages to rent along the waterfront. Big rig friendly!

This review is my experience with snug harbor. 1st off I wanna give a big shout out to Danny the man that runs the place. He's the reason why I'm reviewing this place high if it wasn't for him then my review would be lower. 2 As for the other lady she seems to always have a bad attitude. 3rd Snug harbor is a good place more for older kids and couples not so much with little kids a play ground would be nicer for kids.

Danny who is currently running the park was very helpful and friendly.New management is doing a great job with all the improvements to the park. We rented a cabin which has been upgraded and now includes linens.Hoping that future repairs include repairs to docks but the overall park accommodations make for a great getaway.

We stayed on May 3-5, 2023. BEWARE, IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING STAYING RELATIVELY SOON AFTER OUR STAY, CALL TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE RUNNING WATER!!!!!!They did not for our entire stay, except water coming on for a few minutes intermittently and randomly here and there, then long periods of nothing. We were never informed directly that the water was out. We rented one of their single-wides, not on check-in were we informed. We even checked all the sinks to make sure the water shut-off was inline and walked around the outside to make sure the water main was on, before we bugged anyone, and when we called that's when we were informed the water was out. No one, in our 2 days there ever gave us an update about the water situation, never even checked if we had drinking water, nor offered us a bucket to get water from the river so we could flush the toilet. Nothing was offered to help. After the first day, when it was apparent the water was not fixed, we should have been informed of this and they should have offered to us the option to leave and get a refund for the second night of our stay. We were expecting to be able to shower, use a toilet and cook/wash dishes. None of this worked right, outside of us using an empty 1 gallon jug of water we bought in town, for the toilet. It was stressful, and we regretted staying here. The place was not very clean, and beware---bring slippers or thick socks to walk around in, because they use a swiffer to "clean" the floor and it leaves the floor sticky mess and the floor will look dirty when you walk in. We never went barefoot in the place---gross. Also---you have to pay for internet--which their website does not clearly state. They should not list that the place has wifi if it's a pay service. Plus, if you are counting on enjoying an evening outside looking at the stars or the moon, forget it. They have lights on the exterior you cannot shut off on each single wide, and they run all day too. Which is really rich, considering the resort leaves notes all over the trailer telling you to conserve to keep costs down. The view of the river was nice and in the spring and I suspect the fall too, there are not many people there so it's fairly peaceful, but it was a ripe off to pay $150 a night with taxes and fees, and not have running water. At the most basic we should have been given some drinking water the first night, and been offered a discount on a future stay. The woman who works at the little store they have is a gem. She is funny (and made me belly laugh more than once), very sweet and will do anything to help. It's too bad the rest of the experience was not as great as her customer service. We won't be back.

We LOVED snug harbor! For years, my husband and I have done day trips to the delta and have wanted to camp. This location is a bit out of the way, lots of narrow winding roads and three of four bridges to cross, but worth the drive. We got a spot on the river, where we could park the skis. There is a little beach at the south end of the camp ground. Lots of dogs, very quiet, and free showers. The managers were super friendly and helpful.

Danny is the greatest manager ever!! I was here resting after the surgery I had removing three bladder cancer masses. My caretaker was with me and I desperately needed rest. As a LEASEHOLDER I had an issue at 11:21PM with rowdy and rude renters Nextdoor to me. I politely asked them to quiet down a bit and they used foul language and were flat rude. I called the number I had for Snug and Danny got out of bed and addressed the issue. In over 20 years here i have never had a manager respond like that. Danny is a KEEPER!! Thank you again Danny for all you do!!!Safety: I feel very safe here with Danny as a reliable and responsive onsite manager.Walkability: Nicely paved room roads

Extremely dog friendly park and refreshingly friendly staff made this park a find. Angela and her husband were extremely accomodating and even offered us a roomier site without us even asking. Nice, quiet getaway with beautiful views. Very clean and great dog park where our large dog had room to run after her ball on grass. We'll be back with kayaks next time.

An incredibly quaint hybrid getaway with New England style Cottages, RV sites right on the river, a Marina with a boat launch and daily use dock space. They have fuel, propane, a little country store with fishing supplies, and nice, helpful people. A great choice for special occasions. Thanks guys! We had a blast 🙂

Recently had a Sibling reunion at Snug Harbor. We stayed a week in 2 RV sites and 2 cabins. My family members haven't been back to the Rio Vista area since 1974, spent summers and falls fishing the Sacramento River from 1956 to 1974.Great time at a wonderful RV park with a friendly staff. Fantastic on site Mexico Restaurant also.

This place is a great getaway!!!, we had a group booking which included 5 cottages, I RV and 1 Tent sites. It's very clean and well taken care of consistently. All the staff members are amazing at customer service kudos to the couple (Josh and Angie (Angel) who run this place as they are always smiling and are creating such a great atmosphere.Whatever we needed they made it happen!!!!Each cottage has a picnic table in the back and a view of the river, cottages are clean and have well equipped kitchens.Fire pits in the back as well plus all camp-site locations.Snug Harbor is situated nicely next to a large vein of the delta/river and lets you be in the center of it all.A nice resort with plenty of room for boats & trailers. The other guests and residents are very nice and friendly, always feeling welcomed with smiles!!!!!There is a small store at the office, our group had 2 boats, 2 jetskis, the launch site at the location made it so easy to access the waterways.Great water access and a fun kayaking place with great fishing. Most of the people mind the no wake zone, so your boats/jetskis won't get thrashed at the dock. The gas station on site is a huge plus and so convenient. This place also has a beach!!!!!This is a very family orientated place.I rate this a 4 only because there can be improvements made to the docks to make them more steady.I rate the office staff 5 and the grounds are super clean, kudos to the maintenance team. This is a true Delta getaway, beautiful location, and friendly, professional staff. I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family. I highly recommend visiting this great place.

We have been going here for 10+ years for family vacation! This is truly my favorite place as it’s so peaceful! Every year that I get to go, I know I am in my happy place! Being able to spend time with family and be on the water is the greatest gift!
