Great product selection, super helpful and patient staff, well thought out bathing stations, convenient vet services on site, and the store is so clean we don’t fret bringing our young pup there to train. Most of his favorite toys and training aids came from PFE.

no frills pet stuff, mostly for cats/dogs. store is clean and well stocked. great selection of food, toys, pet furniture, etc. restrooms were also clean and well stocked. i also like that they have side services like a self-service dog bathing area and a dog tag carving station. the best part is their support of the training aspect of pet ownership. there is a glass-walled training room in the back where local dog trainers hold classes, and the staff are generally supportive of training efforts. they will often satisfy requests to do things like walk past your nervous dog so you can practice not ripping the faces off of strangers.

Seems like a nice place to shop. We come here for dog training with Keri. There is a nice room in the back corner for training sessions as well as a gated area nearby in the main store for practicing is more of a public setting to practice training with distractions. Staff is friendly and this location seems to have a good variety of doggie supplies. The only downside is that the parking is kind of cramped so you have to be very careful outside.

I went in for the VIP vaccination service I found the staff in the entire store to be super friendly. They have a great selection of lots of stuff, more than you'd think with the express name. And the Pet Wash facility is outstanding! You can get 4 25-minute tokens for $45. I washed my two 70 lb dogs and finally had to turn off the blow dryer as I hadn't used up all the 25 minutes. The bathing stations have rubber aprons for you to wear if you like and free towels and are elevated so you don't stress your back. There are perfect length leash cables secured to the wall so your dog can't jump out. There are two leashes in each bathing area so I clipped both my dogs in and gave them a bath. For $11.25 I got two clean dogs and no cleanup or towels to wash. Brilliant!

Great, great, great customer service and I should know after 15 years of retail experience including being a buyer for a major national retailer.I intended to buy a medium bag of dog food but when the associate, Chris, offered to help me out with a large bag it was a no-brainer. Plus she threw in a generous sample for my pups and even made it the same protein source as my purchase because she took the time to notice what I was buying.Sure, you might find food a little cheaper but when you meet the people that are making a living and providing great customer service face-to-face, it's worth every penny!Plus the high quality food means you'll save on vet bills later on and your pets will enjoy better health now.+ Outstanding customer service+ Great variety of high quality products+ Convenient location+ Attractive and clean store+ Buy and save program+ Not crowded+ Easy parking*- *avoid the parking lot at the Trader Joe's end at lunchtime but otherwise there is plenty of parking and no crowdsGo here, you'll be glad you did.Shop local!

The vaccination services offered here are fantastic! The staff was absolutely incredible, obviously very passionate about caring for any pet that came through their door. Service was quick, professional, clean and amazing. The best vet visit I’ve ever had.

This is hands down my favorite pet store and also favorite Pet Food Express location. I've been to multiple PFE locations and this one stands out because of the amazing employees that work here. I come here at least once a week to stock up on food or other cat supplies and every time I walk in, the employees will ask how my cats are doing or if there's anything in particular I need. If I purchased a new product recently they somehow remember exactly what it is and ask how it's going with it. It's things like this that make me want to keep shopping here because it shows that the employees listen and care about their customers.I think all the employees are wonderful here, but I really want to emphasize that this store has a great manager (Ryan), assistant manager (Jackson), and a store associate named Marisa. These three employees always answer my questions and go above and beyond with taking their time to help my needs. As I mentioned before I come to this location often, sometimes even multiple times a week, and they are always eager to help me find whatever I need. Most of the toys and treats my cats love are thanks to their wonderful suggestions.This store is also my favorite because of it's size and they also have a cat adoption center. Although I have other pet stores near me, I choose to drive a little further to come here because of the excellent service I recieve here.

Went for a new dog collar and left with a few more items. They have a great supply of local and clean treats, food and toys! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. This place made me feel good about spending money there.

Clean store, friendly staff. Brought my 2 pups here for baths. Had some issues getting them into the bath, high up and had to lift them in. There are little stairs up, but my dogs would go near it. But decent price for a hand wash, lots of towels and had some treats to help. Store has a good selection of dog foods/ toys/ ect. seems reasonably priced. Did feel pressured to buy raw dog food when talking to one of the sales ladies.

Awesome store for pet supplies and great service. I always greeted with a smiling face. If you're the antisocial type, well that suck for you, because you have to walk past the registers to get into the store, so you'll always get confronted in some way. If you're social, well it's a pleasing experience.

I went into my local Pet Food Express here in Walnut Creek. I must say that we were more than impressed by the staff including the Manager. She and I had a chat about Ubiquinol and how it is effective for dogs suffering with Heart disease.The cashier and ALL of the staff here are beyond lovely. I love PetFoodExpress for being a CONSCIOUS company for starters. With that said, the staff here are definitely true animal lovers! They also know how to treat people and their fur companions!I genuinely love to spend my money here as they not only carry the best but also treat customers with care and respect.It was the first time visiting a PetFoodExpress for my friend that tagged along. I had to return an item and the staff went above and beyond for us. Showered my Tinky with love and attention too. Just an overall stellar store with first class employees.Thank you again for being warm, inviting and taking such good care of us. The staff here is knowledgeable and extremely helpful! All of the foods are animal by-product free! Someone is always willing to help you figure out what you need! On the weekends from 4pm to 5:30 VIP pet is here for shots and nail trims! Overall very happy shopping here! They also sponsor occasional adoption events. Check them out and know what you buy here is actually good for your pet!

It was our first time to adopt a pet cat and i loved that there was somone to help and guide us. they have offered a pamphlet for 1st timers and there was someone walking us through and making recommentadions every step of the way without suffocating us. really good experience. Products are good. Place is clean. Masks and social distancing being followed

The staff go out of there way to help you find what you need and answer your questions. I also got to utilize their in-store vet for the first time today. I was impressed by how fast, clean, professional, and noticably cheaper than the other vets I've been to in the area. This is my favorite pet store and won't be shopping for pet supplies anywhere else.

Me and my little pup Venom headed straight here from the Martinez shelter to pickup essentials early October 2016. i have been the gaurdian for all kinds of animals before - but every animal is different and i had nothing for Venom. i was welcomed and one of the staff walked with me for my entire time there to make sure i got what i needed and all my questions were answered. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything they carried and then some- and obviously loved dogs. They carry the best items without being overpriced. And they donate part of their proceedings to the local shelter.i have been back there ever since. Venom and i always love our time there and the staff couldn't be kinder or better.Fabulous place- thank you guys! 😊🐕

Great pet food store, with helpful and friendly staff who know quite a lot about the products they sell. Vet/shot station on site as well as a dog wash station with six stalls. Parking lot can be very busy, but overall I truly enjoy this place.

I just rescued a German Shepherd and the staff here has been above and beyond a great resource for everything from training, grooming, food, and helping getting my kitty transitioned with the new addition! They are incredibly knowledgeable and the management is phenomenal!

It may be a little pricier than Petco or other pet stores, but the quality of their foods and products make up for the cost. Also, they have a self wash station in the back where you can give your dog a bath. Great location too, downtown next to trader joes.

The VIP Wellness Clinic at Pet Food Express may be sufficient if all you need is a simple vaccination. However, if your pet has a real problem or if you need to get hold of the vet that treated your pet, this place is useless. We ordered prescription meds online for our pet, and the vet rejected our prescription. We called the 1-800-number, who couldn't help. We tried for days to get a hold of the vet, since other vets at the clinic cannot vouch for the prescription. We ended up paying to see a real vet who won't reject a prescription. To top this all off, we still got a reminder in the mail to get a refill of the prescription med that the vet rejected. This place has lost my business.

Came here over the weekend & I was asked to leave by an employee because she thought my mask was not a fully covering my face because it had decorative bling on the outside. The mask obviously fully covered my face. The manner in which she approached me was more of a problem.
