First time boarding our two large dogs. The kennels were clean, and appeared to be busy. Our dogs thrived after being scared at first snd were clean, well fed and delirious upon our return. Randy seemed to enjoy them. Osiris and Goldie made it a point to give him some goodbyes too. We will use their services again!

I am usually not the type of person who has a bad experience and then runs to the Internet to leave a bad review; this is actually my first review I've ever written. But this place was absolutely HORRIBLE!! I am not the type of dog owner who overly pampers their dog but I do believe in humane conditions for an animal. We went with summer wind kennels because they advertise that they are an indoor kennel and it was 107 degrees the day we were leaving with the forecast being in the 90's for the entire weekend. This place is an indoor kennel but there is no air conditioning ( or if there is it certainly wasn't turned on) it was unbelievably hot inside! Not to mention the place reeks of urine like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time!! As I was filling out the paperwork I changed my mind and decided not to leave our dog ( I just had a bad feeling about this place) I told the man "helping" me that I wasn't going to leave her and he told me "well you're paying me for today" I tried protesting the fact because she was only in the kennel for about 2 minutes while I was filling out the paperwork but this guy was so rude it wasn't even worth it. I paid the man his $22 for the whole 2 minutes worth of his time. We usually use Dixon pet resort which is about the same price as this place and it is an indoor facility with air conditioning. And doesn't reek of urine! Still in shock that guy made me pay just because my dog stepped into the kennel! Made me wonder just how many people get their and then change their minds.

I read all the positive yelp reviews, but I was not impressed with the place. My instincts told me not to trust the place, but it was the only place available for a holiday weekend. The inside kennels were dark and dreary, reminded me of a dungeon in a "shelter" environment, which included the smell. My dog had red sores on the "elbow" part of her front legs after being boarded for 3 days. My dog actually growled and bared her teeth at the owner, after he handed her to me and he was just passing by her. My dog is a very friendly dog and has never done that to anyone. REMEMBER TO ALWAYS TRUST THE INSTINCTS OF YOUR DOG, they know more than you think.
