I visited PetSmart in Vacaville this morning. The store is clean and has no animal smell at all. The management and workers keep up the store well. The store has good inventories. Most items I'm looking for are in stock, look nice, and are displayed very well. The shopping experience at PetSmart is good and enjoyable.

I went there to purchase a hamster. The woman who helped was awesome and went above and beyond. That being said, the fish were in absolutely deplorable conditions. This has obviously been a problem based on previous reviews that reflect such. There was black mold everywhere, inches of algae in every cloudy tank and most tanks were filled with dead fish. Also, the turtle tank was extremely disgusting. It stated there was a turtle in the tank but I couldn’t tell because it was so dirty I couldn’t see through the glass. I understand a few dead fish here and there, but there is absolutely no reason why the tanks should look like this. Ironically they had stickers advertising that they will check the quality of your tanks water at home.

worst tank maintenance i’ve ever seen. dead fish were molding over because they haven’t been scooped out in god knows what. tanks were covered in algae and were collecting grime. it’s not hard to clean tanks to prevent them from looking like this. also the humidity levels of the tanks were off by 30-40% of where they should have been to keep an animal happy. the bearded dragons only fresh food source was chunks of fruit that was growing mold.

Great vets and vet techs at the Banfield located in this store. Excellent variety of foods for all sorts of living creatures - except for humans at the PetSmart proper. Wonderful grooming salon.

This location has the worst customer service I have experienced. They close and lock the doors prior to closing time displayed on the website and door. I have experienced coming to pick up my mobile order and the door is locked prior to 9pm on a Friday. 2 employees walked away when I knocked and stated I had a mobile order. It's Petco for me from now on and I definitely will reach out to the corporate office.

Staff is always friendly. I have a cat and use the vet here. They have a great selection of toys, litter and food. Not a good selection of litter boxes or carriers. I come here to get my animal fix. If this store wasn’t around I’d have so many more animals. The cats are so cute and they have so many different types of fish. The staff at Banfeild are super nice as well.

Stopped by the store tonight after driving 40 mins since they were the only ones that had my cats prescription food in stock, and for one I’ve never been asked for my physical prescription card before they can just look up my previous transaction and sale me the food. Well I came to the register and guy at register said I can’t sale you the food without a card or picture, then another associate Savanah comes up after I find the picture with a horrible attitude and said no I can not sale you the food because you might be a scammer, I need the actual card. I asked why she said it’s a new policy that was implemented 2 months ago, I said well a month ago you sold it to me without the card she said well “you shouldn’t have waited until the last minute” then I got upset and got an attitude back. I asked for her district managers name or number she said I don’t have one and you’re just going to have to wait until the morning, again with a sassy horrible attitude. Even her coworker looked at her in all when she told me I should not have waited until last minute to come in. Banfield and Petsmart please be consistent with your policy and procedures and also speak to this person as she clearly doesn’t know how to speak to customers.

Yesterday I took my Golden retriever for grooming at Pet Smart, Vacaville. Oshzanae did a horrible job, she trimmed hair so close to his skin. She should know better that how important fur is for Golden retrievers. Now I can’t even take him for a walk. I’m so angry and I shouldn’t have trusted her and shouldn’t have taken my Golden there.

Went to replace a fish and some girl working the fish area wouldn't sell it to me because my current tank isn't big enough to hold a baby fish. Her reason: because the fish will grow into a large fish over the course of a year and it needs a 40 gallon tank. I'm not buying a 40 gallon tank for something the size of peanut. The tank we have would suffice til the fish started growing. Taking my business elsewhere permanently. Last time I was here they gave me a hard way to go about purchasing the weight loss dog food because I lost the prescription for it. It's dog food for Pete's sake. The manager came over conducted the transaction and told me have a nice day.

Grooming:They really messed up my dogs double coat. When they brought our dog out they practically shaved him. We told them what we wanted over the phone which was a small trim/groom. At every other place we have gone they do a small trim/groom, cleaning up different parts and making his outer coat alittle lighter for summer. These people cut him extremely short and had to be stopped by another employee from shaving him. It will take up to year for his outer coat to grow all this time he's more susceptible to burns and ticks along with irritation and dryness. This was unacceptable, multiple employees mentioned how this particular employee screws up regularly. The manager said the employee messed up. After leaving they "investigated" so we would get a refund and decided they did nothing wrong. Will never use this store again and will make sure no we know uses this place. They are unprofessional and did a bad job which will have lasting affect on our dog. Do not use this store for Grooming.

Booked this appointment by telephone not online. Never asked me if my dog takes any medication’s. My dog who has been on gabapentin for two years because she’s 14 and has spinal stenosis was turned away from her appointment this Saturday morning because she takes Neurontin. Her last grooming here was in March when she was definitely on Neurontin. Apparently this is a death and safety issue for a dog, but they didn’t realize it until today.

2 Issues:1.) For the first time, I ordered an on-line order for special dog that needs a Rx from the vet. I only had three cans left for my small dog and after completing my online order on Thursday, I would presume it would be ready to pick up by the following Tuesday. A week has passed so I decided to call about the status of my order. The store associate said that their computer system for on-line orders was not working for some time and that they could not process on-line orders. I was very disappointed that I did not get any email or call regarding the delay, and was told they could not process order at this time. This was an extreme inconvenience because my dog was still having a pancreatitis attack and needed the special dog food.2.) When the dog food was finally processed and ready for pick up, the first store associate said my dog food was already picked up and my my dog food order was no where to be found according to their system. A second store associate then investigated my order and I was told someone came in earlier and picked up my order. I asked do they check ID when orders are picked up and the staff responded in silence! However, they did manage to retrieve the special dog food they had on stock, and complete my order. My pick-up order experience was much longer than expected.As a on-line customer would expect more communication for delayed orders, and more security and ID checks for on-line order pick-ups!However, the staff was friendly. So I will give the store another chance for my next on-line order. Hopefully it will go more smoothly than my first encounter.

My dog went there for a grooming appointment today and the person doing the grooming was clearly inexperienced and my dog is a 110lb Rottweiler which they knew because it's in thier system, he's been to another Petsmart with no issues reported. I get a call stating he's ready to be picked up and that he is banned for life for supposedly lunging at someone's face. He is 4 years old and has never shown aggression, he's a big baby. I believe this was a case of someone who was inexperienced just being scared. Do not bring your dog here if they are a "dangerous" breed because they have inexperienced groomers trying to give dogs a bad name.

Avoid this place at all costs for grooming. Did not feel like my dog would be safe here, did not like the environment at all or the groomers. Waited around a while for my dog to be taken back, ended up just leaving.

Better selection than petco for aquatics. The workers were very knowledgeable and sparked up a great conversation about our tank setups. The cashier was also very polite, welcomed us into the store and used my name from my rewards card.

Horrible service by grooming. We've been taking our 14 year old dog there for years for grooming with no issue. We made an appointment a couple of weeks ago. The day before the appointment we get notified the appointment was cancelled. We called and were told that because our dog is senior dog and blind they can no longer service him. Obviously we were shocked since this has never been a problem. How old is too old? Obviously upset and shocked. Horrible service and very unprofessional staff. Dont take your pets here for grooming!

This PetSmart is the dirtiest and most poorly maintained location I've ever been to. There were spider webs on the shelves, the fish tanks were in horrible condition, and there were only two people in the whole store. I wanted to buy a fish and was considering against it after seeing the conditions of the tanks, but they had a fish that is hard to find that looked to be in good condition. I asked the cashier for assistance and they called for someone else and told me they would be with me shortly. After waiting for 15 minutes, no one had come and so I asked again and they said the manager was busy and so I asked how long they would be busy, thinking that I would just leave if it was going to be much longer, but they said they were on their way to help me. I am very patient, but after waiting by the fish tanks for a total of 30 minutes and pressing the help button many times to no avail I decided to leave, but just as I was about to leave someone finally showed up. At this point it was already 8:15pm, and I have to go to bed at 9 normally so I can get up for work early the next morning. But she apologized and began helping me with the fish. After getting one fish out of 3 for me, she told me she needed to take care of something at the front of the store. So, here I am waiting for another 10 minutes while I hear laughter and conversation at the front of the store. I would have left if they hadn't already gotten one fish out. Eventually she came back and finished getting the fish for me, but I wish I had never gone there in the first place. I absolutely won't be going back there again.

I always shop at this location and the people have always been polite and helpful. I forgot my leash the other day and Banfield inside the store let me borrow one of their leash leads so that my dog could come in with me. I always hate leaving him in the car but I felt extra dumb for forgetting his leash that day.Thank you for not telling me to just buy a new leash!!! It was such a simple thing but it really makes a difference.

I placed an order online and the item was not in stock when I went to check in-store. I spoke to one of the associates and she was super nice and very helpful. It was until she told her manager and he said it wasn’t in Stock and they would refund the money as if I asked for a refund. I told him they need to check their system and he wasn’t apologetic about the situation at all. I got better customer service from the associate than the manager. I drove one hour to Vacaville for no reason.

Most ridiculous and highly unprofessional. It has happened three times and I promise myself no more. Its my Doggo's bday and I had booked his grooming appointment at least 20 days in advance. I also called and double checked, and just when on the day I'm leaving for the salon (twenty minutes before the time), I get a call that my appointment has been cancelled. THIRD TIME NOT HONORING MY APPOINTMENT. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN

My daughter and I went kind of late a few days ago. I found exactly what I needed very quickly. When it was time to check out, the employee at the register made our trip awesome. He was funny, kind, and was an expert at multitasking. My daughter wanted to chat with him, and I was getting anxious since there was a line forming behind us. Typically I start getting stressrd when this happens because I don't like inconveniencing others. The cashier made it a point to interact with my daughter, which made her ecstatic. I saw the look on the other customers faces, and was immediately calmed down. Everyone was so accepting of how chatty my daughter was. Everyone, including the employees (specifically the male night cashier), made our experience awesome.Thank you to everyone who helped us feel welcome. We will return to this location for sure.

First and last time i let my dog go there for grooming. I told them my dog has SA and shouldn’t be left alone especially not in the kennel. No water no food, and it took them 3 hours for an american staffordshire. not only that, they didn’t cut her hair at all, nails were still long and i paid like 70$. wont go there again for sure. i feel bad for my puppy that she needed to go through there.

Their products are way over priced I paid $64.00 for a 35lb of dog food and instantly bought it back went to tractor supply and realized I can buy way cheaper and better dog food there, working there in grooming don’t bother the store manager doesn’t care whether or not there’s a problem and they just sweep under the rug and to be honest I’m glad I don’t work there anymore. 😊
