I had been Craving a soft serve for a long time and I saw the sign The Canyon Gourmet had soft serves so I pulled in parked easy parking by the way. To this little strip mall type cove off of Topanga. The young man behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful the shop is quaint with several different offerings but I was there for the soft serve. He was also kind enough to loan me the bathroom key. My 1st bite was heaven I Got the chocolate soft serve very tasty! A wonderful chocolate flavor and no bitter aftertaste it was all natural and I can testify wonderful to the palate. I highly recommend you stopping by if you enjoy softserves.

The bread they get from Gjusta is expensive but so so good. Try the Olive or the Fruit and nut - I must warn you: it's addictive (and as Germans, we sure know serious bread).It is so good it made us drive to Gjusta in Venice to explore more - and we were so so disappointed - we had the worst breakfast I ever had in my 59 years. To avoid any misunderstanding: at the Gjusta, not at Canyon Gourmet.

Outrageous breads, freshly picked produce, and the sweetest young people to ring you up and make you feel the warmth of the neighborhood. Try the soft serve or the Tahini White Chocolate croissants, and don’t forget the cheese. Celebrity sightings might happen. Ask owner Peter Kagan for recipe ideas. He’s a master chef (and photographer/storyteller).
