The location is hands down amazing! We sat right by the window and were able to enjoy the waterfalls and the river throughout our lunch. Wait staff were super friendly and were willing to replace and then take out of the bill our coffee which we didn’t like. Food was good and everyone in our group enjoyed the whole experience. Would definitely be back!

Located on our route to the southeast entrance of Sequoia National Park, this was just what we needed for a hearty breakfast before hitting the trail. The country fried steak was excellent, and everyone raved about the pancakes. The service was also excellent, but the best part was the patio. The place is right next to a raging river, which made for an excellent backdrop to our family breakfast. Highly recommend!Nearby activities: Sequoia is a short drive away.Safety: Totally safe.Walkability: You're going to need a car.Food & drinks: The restaurant wsd excellent.Noteworthy details: The patio seating is top notch, and they make great use of the space.

Ate dinner there the other night and the food is very overpriced for the poor quality. I had the chicken piccata and it flavorless and dry. The service didn’t make up for the poor food; we were left shivering outside for 30 minutes waiting for the check after the heat lamp died because our waiter never came to check on us.

This is a great location for exploring Sequoia National Park. It is less than a mile from the entrance to the park. Located next to the Kaweah River the restaurant and bar have great views of the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is best to book ahead as the restaurant can get busy. Especially if you want a balcony seat which over looks the river. The menu is excellent. My only criticism would be the choice of beer. But that's because I do not like hipster IPAs. However the choice of whisky is extensive. The rooms are comfy and it's nice to sit outside on the chairs and relax after a long day in the National Park. Parking can be an issue as the restaurant customers take the spaces. There is always space to park later in the evening or early in the morning but at peak restaurant times it can be busy. Also it can be a little noisy at night due to the car park but being from London it doesn't bother me.Overall, it is an excellent place in a great location.

UPDATE: If you eat here, keep an eye on your bank account. Some of the servers here, well actually, the server we had, doubled the tip we had originally given. When we called the restaurant, apparently the original receipt could not be found and the manager had “no way” of knowing who our server was that night. Luckily I keep track of my spending when I go out, especially to restaurants, and was able to catch this. Manager refunded the tip. SO BE CAREFUL because nothing but dishonest people work here tbh.Terrible experience! The waitress we had was acting weird all night and looked like she was under the influence, if you know what I mean. But I get it, I’m not judging. All I’m saying is, at least do your job. But I digress. This lady honestly didn’t even deserve a tip, that’s how bad the service was. But I was like hey, I’ll at least give 10%, because something is better than nothing. Tell me why, after she picked up the receipt, this lady had the audacity to scoff at my husband and I as we’re walking out. I was like what the… the food AND service isn’t even all that good. Humble yourself lady.So yeah, this place is aight. Wouldn’t recommend. The views in the back patio are nice though, so there’s that.

Wife and I ate here 3 times over 2 days while visiting Sequoia NP. For a side of the road place I couldn't be happier! Food and service were great. Ambiance is a bit dated but clean and nice so who cares, I'm here to eat not critique their choice of wall paper! Gorgeous view of the river and rocks below. If we had stayed another day we would have eaten here 2X more.

We left The Gateway Restaurant very disappointed. The food was very poor. And I don't know who they are trying to fool with those prices. Ravioli with asparagus and small carrots was impressively bad. The famous Kobe Beef cheese burger was tasteless and made a gas station burger look amazing. Luckily the kitchen couldn't spoil the good view and the bottled beers. But of course we have different preferences. Unfortunately will not come again.

3 stars for the location and the beautiful restaurant. I had a feeling once I recieved my food that some of it was pre packaged or frozen or something. Like many of the one star reviews say, the food quality is lacking. But the experience as a whole definitely deserves more than a 1 star. My hope in leaving this review is that the restaurant can realize it's full potential and maybe revamp / revisit some of menu items. This could easily be a 4.9 restaurant favorites by hikers and travelers. But as of now, the menu needs some love or the prices have to come way down. I would opt for the former.

Nice place, not too bad. They overcharge for the tyre chains. Also, residents get 10% discount for the restaurant, but you need to tirelessly repeat that. Two times, they told us that we announced that too late (they don't have that many guests to not remember) .Rooms: Not too bad, but as the weather was chilli, it was very cold in the room.

Delicious food with majestic views. Our little family spent thanksgiving lunch at Gateway Lodge and it did not disappoint. The food was so good, seems like it was made with love. The ducks were so cute, my son was obsessed with them! The staff was friendly and kind. Cherry on the top- they are dog friendly. We loved it so much we came back the next day for breakfast. We will surely come back. Thank you so much!

We gave this restaurant a try, and unfortunately the food was terrible. However, the service and ambiance were great. They had two soups I wanted to try so the server let me taste them before ordering (that was very kind). The soups tasted like canned soup, and I did not order. We ordered 3 meals that included asparagus—which had zero flavor—and on each plate it was so cold. The Alfredo sauce lacked quality and flavor, the carrots tasted like they were boiled in gross water, the Chinese Chicken Salad had very little dressing, and the kids pasta that cost $17 was a very small amount of food, even for a kids meal. I’m not one to leave a bad review but for the prices of their meals the quality just isn’t there.

Such a beautiful hotel! Right along the Kaweah river. The rooms were clean, beds were pretty decently comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and they have a coffee machine, microwave and fridge. They also have a restaurant attached to it where you can sit outside along the river. So peaceful and serene. The front desk is located inside the restaurant when you first walk in. Service was great, we wanted late check out on our last day so we could explore Sequoia before we left home and they let us stay until 12pm. The location is PERFECT, less than 5 minutes from the entrance to Sequoia. They also have 2 free Tesla charging stations! Which is nice, but if you use them PLEASE be sure to leave as soon as you’re charged because other people need to use them and charging is limited in that area. Overall would 10000% stay here again.Rooms: Very clean, good beds, excellent bathrooms, has a microwave/fridge/coffee machine, good sized room, heater works well because room can get cold during the winter.Nearby activities: Sequoia National Park entrance is about 5 minutes from this hotel.Safety: Very quiet and secure placeFood & drinks: Food was good, nothing fancy just a good standard American restaurant with a decent amount of options!

The service is very good, the food takes a while but is good, I dare to recommend the restaurant. We stayed one night and honestly the room is bad. It's half clean, the furniture has splashes on it, I don't want to know what, the base of the bed is extremely dirty and the noises from outside are perceived as if the walls were made of paper and unfortunately some guys decided to stop to drink, scream and urinate right next to our room. The hotel is convenient if you leave the park very tired and are a heavy sleeper, otherwise I don't recommend it.

We had our thanksgiving meal here. Wow! Incredible food and seconds if you ask for it. Of course I asked for seconds on candied yams. it was really yummy. The thing that impressed me the most was the owner came around and asked how things were and if he could do anything to make it better. I just bought a Tesla and it needed to be charged and there were Non-Tesla cars blocking the charger. He actually went and found the owner, moved the car, and then moved my car into the charging spot while I ate dinner. The owner went above and beyond, and really made my Thanksgiving evening a memorable one.Nearby activities: Yosemite national ForestFood & drinks: I recommend sitting outside, so you can see the river and the Christmas lights with all the decorated ambience.

I wanted to take a moment to review the restaurant. The waitress service was amazing and the location as well. That's why I'm rating 1 star. We had dinner there in Christmas. The menu was rib eye and some other sides and the price was 75 usd each. We decided to stay ..the entire family. The met was one of the worst quality ever..tasted like boiled. The sides were bearly eatable. We payed more than 500usd and I feel that I was robbed. Perhaps the rest of the year us better but I don't recommend this place.
