I was traveling to Mt Shasta with a veterinary emergency so I called this hospital. The receptionist was extremely helpful and reassured me with her knowledge and guidance. I thoroughly appreciated this because I was a wreck! As it turned out I was able to see the vet in my home town before I went to Mt Shasta.

I have had very positive experiences with the services at Mt Shasta Animal Hospital. I had some very specific requests with my dog recently pertaining to her vaccinations. The vet did a good job listening and then went on to call me ahead of time to review the protocol. My dog had a good experience as they gave her just one vaccine at a time with precautionary measures. I am grateful to have such trust worthy services close by.

After making an appointment in October, to spay my kitty in January for $152, they call in December to tell me they raised their rates to $352. I had to cancel. I would have to save up for at least 3 months to afford this, I couldn't find a different vet or clinic in time and the kitty in question is now pregnant, any day now, I see now the price has dropped way back down. Maybe I'll try them again, I have 5 females needing to be fixed. Perhaps more, because one looks like she just gave birth.

Our new rescue dog went awol in Redding. It took us a week to travel back down there to re-rescue him. And obtain professional care for his injuries.Absolutely every person we interacted with at Mt Shasta VET Hospital was caring, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. They really earned a 12 not just a 10. It it obvious they love dogs & cats.

I was so thankful for Mt Shasta Animal Hospital as they are a very busy office. I called and gave them my name and number for the wait list and they were able to see me the same day.! From start to finish, everyone was amazing and professional. I feel so blessed to live in area where they care for our pets.

We had a tiny recently rescued feral kitten on our hands, with some emergency issues, and they managed to get us in, in the middle of a snowstorm. (I think there were openings because of the snowstorm, since I know they're very busy). The customer service experience was delightful. Everyone cared for the little kitty and was concerned that she be okay.I felt the concern and love you can tell the staff has for animals, as well as for us, driving in, in the midst of heavy snow. It was a great experience, and I appreciate getting the thorough and clarified explanation of the receipt and the breakdown on paper on the costs incurred.I thought everyone did a great job and would definitely recommend.

(Updated Review 6/28/2021)I just wanted to say that the short time my cat Hoodie was seen here was so very appreciated. We sadly lost Hoodie to lymphoma on 6/23. Its been sooo difficult 😢. He was such an amazing cat & I'm heartbroken. I wanted to let Dr. McPherson know, as well as the staff, how much I thank you all for what you did to help me and above all Hoodie during his end stages. You made it possible for me to provide palliative care for him. Giving us the opportunity to have him with us a bit longer. It was a very trying time and it was my first pet that went through some very traumatic changes and I was always able to contact the hospital with questions. Dr. Harmony McPherson went out of her way to help me in every way possible to make sure I was doing the best for Hoodie. I am SO very grateful for everything, especially when my first experience here is a heart breaker ❤️💔😔. We were given some unfortunate news about our cat Hoodie and Harmony McPherson, the veterinarian, has been so thorough, kind and easy to talk to. I'm sadly experiencing losing my second cat in less than a year so I'm a mess. The staff is very attentive and prompt in helping with all the things we are going through.I wish Hoodie had a much longer life expectancy. It's been a rough few months. He is a one in a million kind of cat and we are so saddened that he has been handed this card. Hoodie is very fortunate to have you while he is here. Our family appreciates and thanks you.

Our "Old Lady" is the best doggo but she doesn't always feel the best. Mt Shasta Animal Hospital Staff and Veterinarians are wonderful; no matter if we have questions, concerns or need her medications quickly, they let us know what's going on and are extremely compassionate. 💜💜💜We sincerely appreciate the great care Myrtle has received over the last 11 years from Mt Shasta Animal Hospital.

Two weeks after I left this negative post below, Lisa the officer manager called back and said she was reviewing past messages on their office machine. She assured me they DO try to make room for long time customers with an urgent need. She was kind, thoughtful and made an appointment for my kitten to be seen on the day I get him this month. Very pleased with her follow up. She was unaware of this posting, but I assured her I would update it!. Thank you Lisa!!!I am very hesitant to write a negative review, but I could not stay silent on this one. I have been a customer, a loyal customer, of this veterinary clinic for over 20 years and called because I have a brand new nine week old kitten coming into my home and need a wellness check as well as shots scheduled and a neutering scheduled. I was told by the young man that it was not a priority, and I could not get an appointment with them until June. At that time my kitten will be almost a year old, which is unacceptable. so they have turned away my business, the revenue from my business for numerous shots and neutering, and have blamed that on staffing issues, which he said were experienced by all veterinarians these days. Then tell me why was it I could get an appointment at the Weed clinic in two weeks? I would rather not change where I do my veterinary business, but they have left me with no choice. It’s a shame that the community here cannot rely on veterinary care from this clinic any longer.

I've lived in siskiyou county for 3 years now. My 3 animals have all been established at this clinic. I have had nothing but kind, caring and compassionate care for my fur babies. Just recently we had an emergency surgery for my golden retriever. The staff dropped everything to save my dog. I thank everyone at this clinic for all of the great care for all of the animals that come through their doors.

Great vets, staff, facility and on/site diagnostics! Our old dog came in with a racing heart and he had an EKG within an hour, which a remote Cardiologist read almost immediately! Awesome! We are new clients from St Louis and are very impressed!

I have only had encounters with Mt. Shasta Animal Hospital for the last year and a half and have always had great care and service. When the office was only doing pick up and drop off from your vehicle, they were always so friendly and helpful. When our last little guy was hit by a car and we had to put him down, they went out of their way to ensure my family was able to be apart of his final moments and were very caring and thoughtful with follow up care for our family. So far, with our new girls, they have been nothing but professional, friendly and timely with appointments and scheduling.

This is a top notch clinic with seriously amazing staff. They got me in for a neuter appointment within three days, and the doc who did it was absolutely wonderful (Dr. Jeff Smith). They were also very careful about making the visit a good experience for my cat, which is super appreciated since vets visits can be so stressful! Very reasonable prices too given the rural nature of the clinic! Highly recommended!

They are the only place in the area and they arw busy- but will fit you in if they can. I've been taking Sam there for past few years and Sam thinks hes going to a day care or something because he likes the girls there and they treat him well. He gets well cared for . The vet is super good and knows what shes doing. Thank you for taking good care of our little boy.

I’ve put my precious pets in the staffs hands a few times over the last few years and I’m forever greatlful. The vet techs are so friendly to not only my beloved animals and but insured me with kindness and respect. I applaud the crew as some cases may be more emotional and challenging but they’ve always made the experience more warm and comfortable. I would recommend over and over. Due to lack of staff and mismanagement we are deeply disappointed in the care my cat has received. We have been bringing all of our family pets to this vet for years and now we are going to drive our pets one hour away for care. We brought him in for a skin issue, he used to take a certain medication for this issue and it worked. We simply wanted to get him checked out and prescribed this medication so we brought him in. The doctor flat refused to prescribe and instead wanted to try shots, administered in office. Naturally it’s a cost every time we bring him in. We called after he had his first shot, wanting the original medication he was on and they refused. Said we would need to bring him in for another exam. Another 200 dollars. Not to mention because they are short staffed they now require people to leave their pets all day long. This stressed our cat out so much we don’t want to bring him in for another exam just so they can maximize profits. His other vet had prescribed this with great success. I’m deeply disappointed and concerned. Will be driving my cat to Redding. At least then it’s only 3-4 hours instead of 8.

The staff is very kind and reassuring, they take the time to listen and are just overall pleasant. After my cats procedure the doctor took the time to call me and talk to me about the procedure and aftercare, I could feel his professionalism and concern over the phone. Overall this hospital is everything you would expect from a hospital and more. Their hearts are in it for sure and I feel like my one visit with them has established a lasting relationship. I am so grateful for what they do.

Dr. Schenone at Mt. Shasta was very thorough in her examination of my sick kitty. When I called to make an appointment they quizzed me about my cat’s condition. When I said he had lost a lot of weight they immediately made room for an exam that week. I appreciate how organized and friendly everyone is there. 5 Stars!

MSAH can be difficult to get an appointment with, they are just too busy! But they always do their best to get you in and are friendly and even careful about running up the bill. The doctors I’ve worked with took their time with their diagnostic process and explained their thoughts along the way.

They have taken care of my cats for years now. Always with such compassion and caring for all of us, myself included. Even during the pandemic, they kept their compassion and caring at the forefront.Dr. Dave is simply the best! He is so kind, has incredible expertise and common sense and has made multiple correct calls for my kitties when a best guess was all we had to go on. Dr. Dave took the time out to call me at the end of a long day (where he was the only doctor on schedule that day) before he went home to make sure we discussed what was the best course of action moving forward.You ALL are always so busy and work so hard. I just wanted you all to know that I See that (and I know others must as well).
