Been coming to this vet for several of our cane corso litters health check up and health certificate. Love coming here and travel from Bakersfield(1-1/2 hours away) for the friendly environment, excellent staff and quality care.Today we had the worst experience with a staff member name Natalie ( white lady with a British accent). Upon our arrival, she greeted us with a comment about our puppy’s horrible tail doc saying, “poor baby that’s horrible tail doc” with a disgusting attitude and look on her face. Not thinking we were the breeders of the puppy, made us feel not welcomed and not comfortable with her. She then treated us as if she didn’t want to deal with us and felt a bit racism with her attitude. We love this place and hate that we were unwelcome by her. We don’t come for opinions on how we breed and raise puppies, we pay for service and health care for our puppies. Keep it professional. She took our puppy to the back and we paid for ear cleaning and when we got the puppy back, there was still dirt in both her ears. She was given dewormer and her mouth was messy when she was given back. She also double charged us when we asked to have a different staff member help us. We luckily caught it as we looked at the invoice and had a refund. Our health certificate needed to be correct three times. Birth date, age and gender were all wrong. We had other appointments to be at and drove a long way. We provide the health paperwork to our clients and had to correct it twice. This doesn’t look good on our business.

Excellent Vet. We travel from Bakersfield to Happy Pets Vet. Love the clean and friendly environment. Prices are well priced as well. We had a bad experience last week from this vet office but Jacqueline Martinez ensured our feedback was heard and also provided a discount for our previous experience. She’s super polite and great energy and we appreciate your staff’s professionalism.

My dog Muffin had a dislocated hip and I took her to Happy Pets, where Jackie assisted me in helping her get in right away and scheduling her surgery ASAP. They were able to surgically repair her hip and give her physical therapy with their underwater treadmill. Thanks to Laura and Sarah for working with her and getting her back to her energetic self. She no longer has to use her wheelchair!

I called for an emergency appointment. I was willing to pay extra but was told it still wouldn’t guarantee the would see me. So I scheduled an appt for two days away. My dog had a seizure and the next day i could something was soo wrong so I ran over there and she took the dog from me, went back and decided to put an oxygen tube in his throat, unsedated, and he had a heart attack and died immediately. I was distraught, and later had a courier pick up service go to pick up his ashes but they were gone. They had thrown him away…

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with what I can confidently say is the worst veterinary service I have ever encountered. From start to finish, my visit to this establishment was marred by overpricing, unprofessionalism, and a shocking lack of basic courtesy.First and foremost, the prices charged by this veterinary clinic were exorbitant. I understand that quality medical care for our furry friends comes at a cost, but the fees charged here were completely unjustified. It felt as though every service and procedure came with an inflated price tag, leaving me feeling ripped off and taken advantage of. I was deeply disappointed to see such a blatant disregard for fair pricing.Moreover, the unprofessional conduct displayed by the staff was utterly unacceptable. The veterinarians and support staff lacked the basic courtesy and empathy one would expect from a medical professional. They were dismissive of my concerns and seemed more interested in rushing through appointments than providing thorough care. Their lack of attention to detail and overall disinterest in addressing my pet's needs left me questioning their competence and dedication to their profession.To make matters worse, the staff members were incredibly rude throughout my visit. Their demeanor was consistently disrespectful and condescending, making me feel unwelcome and unimportant as a client. It is disheartening to see professionals in a field that revolves around compassion and care treat pet owners in such a discourteous manner.In summary, I strongly advise against seeking veterinary care at this particular establishment. The overpricing, unprofessionalism, and rudeness I encountered during my visit were simply unacceptable. As pet owners, we deserve better for our beloved companions. I would highly recommend exploring other veterinary options in the area to ensure your pet receives the quality care they deserve, both medically and emotionally.

I recently adopted two little ones from shelters and I take them to Dr. Baker. He has been super friendly and follows through on everything. He had a concern with a vaccine one received and went well beyond looking into it and getting back to us. All the staff has been super friendly and sweet with my little ones. I have no concerns with taking them to Happy Pets. It is always nice to see staff as compassionate with your pups as you are. I am very happy that Happy Pets is our vet. I highly recommend this vet.UPDATE: we have been here a year now and our feelings have not changed. The staff is amazing and super friendly. they really give a 110% when handling our furbabies. Dr. Baker is great. He answers all questions and never had any issues with him or this facility. We are very pleased.

Horrible experience with this veterinary clinic. Took my cat in for a small laceration on his eye and was prescribed an antibiotic ointment that made him go deaf. A quick google search can confirm that this medication can have this side effect and there are so many alternatives - but we weren’t given any information and I blindly trusted these vets. I stopped using the ointment immediately and ordered an alternative on Amazon that cleared it up quickly. Horrible care. Never take your pet there.

Horrible service and inter-office communication. I’ve been taking my dog here a couple years hoping it would get better but it keeps getting worse. No responses to my online appointment requests. No call backs for appointments or follow ups. Questions for the doctor… no call backs for days, I usually have to call back a couple times the following days before getting a response even when I’m clearly concerned about a symptom or need a medication refill. I feel like I have to chase them down repeatedly every time I need anything as simple as a refill, appointment, or questions answered by the vet.Before adopting my medium breed dog, they spayed her while she was in heat (but not currently bleeding), causing complications with post hormone levels and now she’s on Proin medication forever. I understand complications from spaying can effect incontinence, but had they noticed she was in heat prior to the surgery, I would have asked to put it off for a later date like most vets suggest doing this lessening the chance of complications and faster healing.On a positive, the people were nice and they are probably just overbooked all the time. There is just no time for the individual care that’s needed when it comes to our beloved family members.They just moved their office to Plum Canyon which is 15-20 min from their Valencia location.Definitely time for me to switch back to my previous vet.

We had our first puppy visit and it could not have gone better. They were so happy to meet our new pups and were so friendly. They answered all of our questions, were very organized and have everything laid out for us to continue on with the vaccine schedule. They also use a pet app to keep track of their care and records. I love it so much!

I brought my 16 year old diabetic cat in for an x-ray on 8/29 after having her seen at a walk-in clinic. They were able to get me in with in the other vets recommended time frame.I explained everything regarding the cat to the tech. Then Dr Vega came in. She did a pretty thorough physical exam and then told me the tech would be back with the recommendations. Dr Vega had mentioned she would be out the next day, so any results she would get back to me with on Wednesday. The tech came back with a plan totaling $800. I told her I was only able to do some of the recommendations. One of the recommendations was the possibility the X-ray may need to be sent out. I told the tech we would see what Dr Vega said once the X-ray was done in regards to that line item. It was a cat after all, not an exotic pet.After they were finished the brought my cat back and said that yes the X-ray needed sent out as Dr Vega wanted clarification on what she saw. Her CV boasts 20 years of Veterinary practice, but she couldn't tell what she saw. I paid for the services we agreed to and asked to have my receipt emailed to me. When James read the email address back it was incorrect. I gave him the correct email and he said he would send it out. Never received.Wednesday came and went. So Thursday at 5:30 I called and asked about the status of the x-rays. They had been received but I was told the Dr Vega had been out Tuesday and had other reports and refills that she was dealing with and may get back to me later or the next day.Friday still no call. So at 5:50 I call again. And Seriya answers. She again tells me that my x-rays were received on Tuesday and Dr Vega is working on getting back to all her patients including my cat. I explained how frustrating it has been as my cat is getting worse and we are going into a holiday weekend with no update. I brought in a cat not an exotic zoo animal and didn't understand why I couldn't be told what was wrong with her. I asked if the doctor was still in the office and she said yes. She told me she would leave her a message marked as urgent in an effort to get me a call back. I did not hear from Dr Vega and still have not.Today I took my cat to a different vet that was shocked that at a minimum we weren't given pain meds for my cat. I again paid for an office visit and a new set of X-rays that showed she has advanced arthritis. We were given pain meds and an anti inflammatory medication.It is sad that that Dr Vega could not be bothered when a patient calls telling your staff their animal is declining. Took my golden retriever puppy here for about 6 months. They do seem to have a great staff and the doctor was very nice. The reason why I'm giving it two stars is because (1) they are super expensive and about everything cost twice as much as another great vet office (2) I just don't like their system of taking your pet away from the owner to give them a shot, etc. they take you pet to he back room while you wait in the waiting room, which probably gives them a lot of anxiety. I ended up moving to another vet, I actually get to be with my pet the entire time.

Everyone in this office is kind, caring, and gentle with your pet. The prices are extremely fair and no one tried to upsell me anything.They gave my incredibly nervous dog amazing treatment and were kind and patient with her.

I had two of my big dogs needing immediate attention after being injured 🤕 and of course it was in the middle of the night. They called me first thing in the morning before opening, and although they had a seriously full schedule both dogs were fit in at opening. The youngest is fearful and yet over 55 lbs. I couldn’t tell you how shocked I was when the Dr herself joined me and my dogs sitting on the floor to examine them. This elevated almost all of my crazy pups fears as she came down on our level since I was sitting on the ground calming them. This spoke a lot to how this office works. Animals needs come first over human comfort even and I appreciated it. They were very efficient even with fees and billing and came to go over cost even though I had already stated whatever. It doesn’t matter. They had thought they would need to shave down the pup and started to and then decided it was not necessary. Instead of charging me for it as many would have they simply said “ oh I removed it from the bill since we didn’t need to fully shave her.” When they preferred to shave the dogs in the other room and I asked if I could go with the more difficult pup the assistant was beyond understanding and asked me if I would rather she do it in the examining room. Customer service is beyond reproach as is animal care. If you have little ones in need of care head over there. Your babies will ❤️ love you for it.FYI I’m typing this without my glasses headed to the gym. So if there’s a mistype my apologies.

I am so grateful for Dr. Vega, Dr. Kelsie and the staff at Happy Pets. I called into my normal vet because I needed to put my 12 year old Black Lab, Roscoe down. They didn't have an appointment available for TWO WEEKS!!!! Sure they must be kidding right? I thought he was falling apart. They told me I could do a walk in...a 4-8 hour (sometimes) wait. I could wait in my car with my old dog. I said, no way...so unfair to him...he was in so much pain. That's when I remembered a friend of mine, that fosters pets told me about her experience at Happy Pets. They got me in within a day and told me it would be a quality of life appointment and we would decide together what would be best for Roscoe. Turns out he wasn't ready to go yet. He was healthy, but 12 year old Black Labs get very bad hips and he must have also injured himself. A few shots for pain and some meds and he is doing so much better and still such a loving part of our family. Thank you Dr. Vega and Dr. Kelsie for helping me keep Roscoe around, if for just a bit longer, for my children and me. You are our new vet and we couldn't be happier.

I needed to get my dog in to see a vet immediately on a Friday...my regular vet could not take him. I called at least 9 places and no one could get him in. Only about 3 asked what the problem was..others just said, we are all booked today sorry. However, the lady at Happy Pets, asked what was wrong, was generally trying to see what she could do and then a cancellation came in for 2 hours later!!! What luck!! We went of course, my Buddy had no problem being taken from the car with the assistant...they were very helpful, didn't wait longer than 5 minutes and when the vet called she was wonderful. Not rushed, seemed genuinely concerned and we are not out of the woods yet with our baby. So, I will continue with Happy Pets...Thank you...all of you.

Everyone at this vet office is absolutely amazing!! They truly care about the animals and their customer service is the best I have ever experienced out of any vet in the LA area. My puppy got stung by a bee while walking, and we had to find a urgent care vet on last Saturday. Everyone at this vet was so helpful and kind while I was so worried waiting outside the vet. I also had a lot of questions because this was first time any of my dogs got stung by a bee, and everyone I met here answered all my questions with such kind heart. My puppy stayed here about 2 hours and she was all good after she got out and came home. Thank you so much Happy Pets🙂

We have been taking all three of our fur loves here for over five years! We LOVED it for the first four years, but now their front staff is rude and quite short! I am not quite sure what exactly has changed and we have been there for so long but the two front ladies need training in customer service and the ability to be polite. Hopefully when reading this review they will put forth the kindness they should towards everyone for the sake of the vet! We have been there for so long, but if this rudeness does not change, we will be finding another home for our fur loves to receive care.hoping this make a difference and things change- for the better!

My dog, Lucy, is a rescue and extremely fearful of strange people and places. She was treated with kindness, and relaxed enough for Dr. Vega to do a very thorough exam and find out what her lameness problems were. I had good experiences with my Corgi, Buster too. With the Covid-19 situation they have implemented extremely good hygiene practices. I am very happy with Happy Pets Veterinary Center.

I've been taking my animals to Happy Pets for years. They are all so kind, even coming to my home to put my elderly cat down for a nominal home visit. I currently have two dauchshunds with back issues and HP has provided immense relief for them with alternative therapy, including ultrasound therapy and acupuncture. Not happy with Happy Pets!My Angle is sick! Skin pealing with hair coming off. Skin red and bumps!Wanted Dr Vega to look at her!Called and the office said she would be back in 6 days so I wanted to make appointment for when she came back! Go in and Angle didn't see Dr Vega! Saw someone else who I don't think helped like she should have and I didn't wait 6 days to see someone else!Not happy with Happy Pets!My dog is part of my family and I don't think my Angle was cared for the way she should have been!

I am very happy with the care provided to my dog. The staff is responsive and gets me in quickly for my appointment. The pricing is transparent and very reasonable and I do not feel they're trying to rip me off, unlike some places do. I feel I can trust the vet. I would highly recommend this place!

They have taken care of my dog and now my cat. My mom takes her 2 dogs here also. They have always been compassionate and caring. They have no problem explaining things over and over and working with you on a plan to fit your budget. Our cat has a mystery allergy that's leading to a skin condition and instead of just throwing pills at him they are working with us to figure out the cause so he doesn't need pills. They're doing things like helping us change his diet to shots. They always explain every procedure and why they're doing it and if we can't do all of it now what we should do now and what we should do if it gets worse. Had a few 2nd opinions and every vet says we're getting the best care and they wouldn't change anything about the course of action. They also always remember my cat and his name and still talk to him even though he's deaf. Love them!

I was grateful Happy Pets was able to get me in the same day I called for an issue my dog was having. Consultation was thorough and testing and treatment options explained fully. The only issue I have with Hapoy Pets is the pre-paid follow up visit they tack onto the bill assuming you will be coming back for a check up when that’s not always necessary. I’ve noticed this for the past several visits and always tell them no I don’t want to prepay and not once did I need to come back for a check up! Today, the charge was put on the bill yet again but not told to me and only after I questioned the front desk how the bill got to where it was did I learn the charge for a follow up visit was added on, after it was already billed to my credit card. I had them issue a refund and asked to put a note on my chart to *never* add that charge onto the bill. I truly hope Happy Pets eliminates this practice and instead, only when it’s known a follow up is definitely being scheduled, that they ask if you’d like to prepay it for a discount.

I have been taking my dogs here for as long as they have been open. I also now have a cat who also is treated there. The Dr.s are all very caring and very kind. The staff has been polite and very helpful. I suffer from separation anxiety and they have been wonderful to me when my dog had to have surgery. Thanks to all of you..
