My dog loves the groomer their at bridgepoint shopping center, Foster City, Vincenzo is GREAT WITH MY ZEUS! I don't trust anybody else anymore, not even myself. Thank you Vincenzo. You've been great. I can't wait to see you guys again!! Did I might mention I drive 35 minutes to go there for a groomer and pass up about six of them just to go to Vincenzo!!!

Donna was the cashier and she was very rude. It was still not the closing time and she pushed us out. Waived her hands like saying get out.If you don’t want to serve your customers at 8:45pm you should close the score earlier.

Despite enjoying Petco and their offerings, this location is THE ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to adhering to their published hours. As an employee who is paid with net proceeds from customer purchases, when you see a 40 yr old customer running across the parking lot in a full-on sprint toward the door at 8:55pm, don’t start running across the store foyer so that you can successfully slam the doors in her face without acknowledgement when there’s nothing more than a thin pane of glass between the two of you. Especially when you advertise in 20 different places a 9pm closing time. I promise that I know exactly what I need and won’t keep you past 8:59pm.Furthermore, it’s absolutely astounding to me the complete and total lack of respect and/or appreciation that customers can expect from retail establishments in 2024. Even more confounding is why it’s a surprise that most customers just shop online… If you aren’t even going to TRY to impress your customers with an in-person shopping experience that inevitably leads to additional money spent or fierce customer loyalty, then why bother? It seems pretty stupid to pay the exorbitant lease on retail space in Foster City just to have your customers walk away disgusted, vowing to never give your business another dime- online or otherwise…..

The customer service at this location is terrible. One employee in particular is overly aggressive at check-out and has no social skills whatsoever. Never burden the customer with questions about why they do not have a Petco membership. Just accept it and move on; get the customer out the door. Most recently, there were no employees at the front at all to ring me up. I left the products at the front and walked out; I will not return again. Just buy products on Chewy and save yourself the trouble.

It was not a good customer experience.The order wasn't ready over an hour after it was placed online. The chair said I was welcome to get it myself so I did. While looking for the items, an employee directed me to the location. I searched for about 10 minutes and only found one of the items. I found the same employee and he searched also. He indicated there should have been 3 items left in inventory. We couldn't find any of them.After 25-minutes in the store shopping for items which should have been ready for me, I bought another product and left.This is not the first time for this type of interaction. Why is there a discrepancy between the web inventory and store inventory? Why wasn't my order fulfilled prior to my arrival?All fixable issues but my time is with something. If PETCO can't give me a good or even satisfactory experience, it may not be worth my money.I've already shared my repeat experience from yesterday with a couple pet owners, now Google can share it. Can PETCO afford this type of negative publicity?

Got there 30 minutes San Mateo early checked in then after I came back again, they said they couldn’t groom dogs because mats which was an excuse because brushed out almost every day before in a different location I never have this problem to cancel on the spot they kind of made a big deal about why she couldn’t grow him. It was embarrassing and upsetting. Because not true also I drove 30 minutes for that horrible service.

Best place for my dog so far. I’ve been coming for my dog’s bath and grooming for few years and I have an excellent experience as all the staffs there are friendly, they love your pet, and they always care about your pet’s health. I’d recommended Dani if you are looking for dog stylists around here. Anyway, I believe all of the staffs there are good plus Petco has reasonable prices.

Do yourself a favor and don’t even think of taking your pet to this store.I just moved to this area from San Diego California, and I have been taking my dog to Vetco and to Petco grooming for over 4 years.I have never ever had a problem with Petco grooming except this store.I have scheduled the appointment and was waiting for 16 days. And when the time comes, I took some time off from my work and I drove there.The stylist name is Vincenzo M, I’m not sure if he was the same guy I met with or someone else.To make the story short, before getting my dog inside, he was petting her, and she was laying down for him to pet her. He was even able to touch all her paws and she wasn’t against it. All of sudden, he lied to my face saying that she showed teeth and he can’t take her in (she is a border collie)I told him, I’m literally standing here next to you and she didn’t show any teeth, he said I’m not comfortable to take her in, maybe she is not used to grooming (keep in mind in his systems it says how many Petco grooming she was into, including last month)He didn’t apologize for my wasted time, all his word was I’m not gonna take her in.There was another customer behind me and she told me I’m walking out too, I don’t trust them after what I saw, and she walked out as well.I already filed an official complaint against him with the corporate because he was the rudest person I have ever dealt with for over 4 years in many states with Petco.He could’ve just said, I’m lazy today, I don’t feel working, and apologized for wasting my time. I would’ve appreciated his honesty and left to a different store with no complaint.

I had such a terrible, traumatizing experience here. Firstly my PUPPY had a grooming appointment here, for a trim and nail clipping. She was super adorable and fluffy before her appointment. She did have a little matting here and there but nothing major enough for her to get the treatment she got. Towards the end of August a groomer by the name Lauren decided that at the time my 5/6 month puppy was “extremely” matted and used clipper on her (I gave her a brush before her appointment, was not huge Matt’s anywhere).Lauren left huge patches on her neck, legs, stomach, and shoulder (as if I picked my puppy off the streets or saved her from drowning in dirt or something).If only I can explain the pain and emotions I was going through at the time. YALLL! So then we decided to pay them a visit so they can explain to us why she used clipper on our puppy. Lauren wasn’t present that day but Jamie was, Jamie was not helpful at all, didn’t even want to give me Laurens name! Got super angry with me and I quote “humans make mistakes” anyone can tell you that clipper are not suppose to be used on puppies. So I asked for a incident report, which said something else on there ((((by the way I have footage and picture of everything))) anyways I wrote my complaint. I gave it to the manger (forgot his name) instead of Jamie b/c as I said was very rude to us!! The manger, who was also no help, said that he couldn’t give me a copy of my complaint nor did he not know why Jamie gave that to me?!?!?! Everyone basically brush us off and said there was nothing that can be done. Kept asking if we wanted our refund but at that point it wasn’t even about the money it’s the principal. Which they didn’t get, my puppy has not been the same since then, and her hair is growing back in a total different texture then the rest of her hair. I felt completely disrespected and dismissed! I don’t want anyone to go through that ever ! Or to feel the pain I had the endure. I will post just the of lauren b/c it’s a public photo everyone see when in the grooming room [[[[look at my puppys skin, Lauren shaved my puppy to the bone LITERALLY uggh]]]]]

This store is a mess. Their is absolutely no friendly customer service. I ran in to buy some cat food. one line, one cashier. I greeted her and asked her how her day was going, and didn't receive a response. Long story short; I let the cashier know that the cat food price on the shelf tag was a much different amount than what she rang me up. "It's $28.99 + tax so it's $32.36" as I'd responded with "I understand that, but the price on the shelf said $20.99, so you'd probably want someone to take a look at that and fix it. Her response "the tags aren't always right. and it's really not that big of a deal!" taken back by her attitude; I responded with "Yeah it's not that big of a deal to you, but it is a $10 dollar difference for me..." She had the audacity to come at me with "You're rude..." Um no I'm the customer and you're being rude and unprofessional!" She says "You're rude, leave! Get out of my store and don't come back!!!"I am floored as to this outburst and just flat out rudeness. It is so mindboggling to me. I didn't raise my voice, nor was I being rude.Beware! Not a great store all around.

I honestly am kinda shocked no one has mentioned this in their reviews.The place is an absolute mess every time I have visited. The floors are filthy with dirt, grime and scuff marks. The tiles are uneven with what appears to be screws or something popping up from below. The lighting seems dark in there. Not sure if it’s the grooming salon blocking light or what Their clearance items are at the front of the store in multiple locations and always are in disarray, adding to the chaotic feeling when you walk in the door. There were multiple pallets of items to be stocked, in multiple aisles. There is a lot going on, and is both visually and physically very difficult to walk through and shop. The store is sandwiched between two brand new stores and my hope is they will bring it up to par as a result of no longer sitting by itself at the end of the shopping strip. Despite my critique, there is a lot that is good/great: the staff is wonderful. They were friendly, they greeted me, and asked if I needed anything, etc. The grooming salon was busy and the one pup leaving with its new cut, looked great and was happy. There is a lot of inventory, so the selection is good (especially if it makes it to the shelf). Most importantly the animals in there looked well taken care of. They had clean enclosures, food and water, and looked generally healthy. I really think this location has a lot going for it, if they can get it regularly stocked and cleaned up.

I may look sad, but my human is happy. There is a sign on the outside which says no walk-in appointments, but based on luck I was able to get a walk-in nail and paw trimming. Wouldn’t guarantee this for next time. They do check their voicemails and call back nail and paw trimming first. Also recommended if booking online, book with a grooming session and right call/leave a message right after to have the grooming session removed.Laura H did a great job on my paws.

The staff is always helpful and friendly. The animals appear to be well taken care of. IMO these are the most important things for a pet store.Minus one star because the store always seems to be packed with unboxed inventory in the aisles which you sometimes have to squeeze by. Gives me flashbacks of navigating my garage after we just moved in. Maybe they need a storage shipping container out back or something.

I just picked up my dog from the Petco in San Bruno where the groomers had taken on all of the dogs scheduled for someone who had called in sick that day. I was pretty impressed with this and wonder why Petco San Mateo can’t do the same. I had been taking my dog to the Bridgepointe facility for a couple of years, but had my appointment canceled last minute at least six times. When I expressed some frustration with this, I was told to take my dog elsewhere. From a business standpoint, it makes sense to accommodate your customers rather than your groomers, at least most of the time. That is not the case with this store. Outside of the grooming salon, I have found some of the employees here to be very helpful and knowledgeable.

Guy who rang me up was very helpful, I also bought more or a product that he recommended. All around, it's nice to see someone be warm and welcoming during these hard times. People have become bitter and he was a breath of fresh air. My husband and I both agree that he makes us want to go back to this location even though it is not our local store. Appreciate his kindness, and we will return!

Really unprofessional experience with their grooming services. I had my original appointment cancelled same day and although we were told we would get a callback to reschedule, we actually had to call them three times and speak to a manager before it was sorted out.Two days before my rescheduled appointment, I get an email confirming, but without the haircut we had originally scheduled along with the bath. I immediately call and leave a message. Five minutes later I get a call confirming I'm still coming, but I ask about the haircut and get bounced around between associates. They then insinuate they can't fit in the haircut now because I had never requested it in the first place, even though I have the confirmation.Finally, they tell me they cannot do any haircuts for the next two weeks, so I cancelled my appointment altogether. Absolute waste of my time.

This store is small, dark, not well stocked, and is just overall pretty depressing to shop at. For a store in that location, it needs a serious facelift. The workers don't seem happy, either. They are working around animals all day - why do they look so dissatisfied?

We took our rescue here for grooming and the staff were incredible. They made him feel comfortable and he came out happy and clean! When we returned a couple months later the staff remembered him and said they were thinking about him and remembered the details we shared on our first visit! We felt welcomed and taken care of! We will keep going there.
