Took the kitty I rescued off the street here for a wellness check and vaccines. My appointment was for 8:45am and didn’t wait long at all to be seen. Dr. Gibbs was incredibly sweet and helpful as she examined my kitty. She let me know all my options and prices for certain tests and let me opt out of a few that weren’t really needed for an indoor cat. After the wellness exam she took my cat back to run some tests and administer the vaccines, telling me to grab a coffee if I wanted and they would be done in a half hour. A coffee and 20 minutes later they were all done! She handed me the paperwork and microchip info and walked me through it all. As far as vet prices go for exams/chipping/vaccinations $300ish wasn’t too bad! I’m just fortunate the Cat Distribution System gave me a cat that had been spayed and released Lolol. Thank you Dr. Gibbs from myself and Boogie Cat!

Had a grooming appointment for 2 months. Person checking me in made me wait for a walk-in customer. A WALK-IN! Then after I waited I asked if Petco was double booked, she said yes. Then told me the dog grooming would take 5 hrs! Wait, what?! The point of scheduling in advance is to have the ability to plan appropriately. I raised my concern to the person checking me in, but she didn't care. Um, ok. Might not be her fault really. Probably blame Petco for allowing this nonsense. I literally pay a monthly fee for their services. I scheduled way in advance, I use their vet service, too. I probably need to rethink my relationship with Petco.

Always buy my dog food at Petco. Great variety to accommodate my dog’s needs. Also purchased a cute Valentines toy. This time I had a reward for a free bag which was the cherry on top. Cashier was friendly and offered tips for getting the most out of the Petco app. Love getting my dog what he needs at Petco!

I visited Petco, San Marcos, at the weekend to use the self-wash. We come often for a variety of reasons.Whilst I was at the checkout, a woman from the line stormed over and began shouting at me.From what I gathered, she had been waiting at the other checkout to pay for the self-wash and was directed over to the main checkout. As I had arrived at the store after her, but was ahead of her in the line, she felt that I had pushed in front of her.In response, I offered to let the woman be checked out first. She proceeded to swear at me and insult me whilst waving her finger in my face.The staff her are lovely and I do not blame them for what happened. Maybe a sign could be put up near the self-wash and at the smaller checkout telling customers wanting self-wash to pay prior at the main checkout. Hopefully this would prevent future upset, not that this woman's aggressive behavior was justified.

Staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This location seems bigger, but I could be wrong. They have a good variety of pet supply needs with a large amount of aquariums in stock. Overall, I am always a happy customer at this location.

Went for a collar and bought a few things. Super organized, great prices, vast selection. Vet onsite and a do-it-yourself bath area for dogs. Helpful team here. Ample and easy parking. Will definitely shop here again and would recommend to others.

No carts at the entrance. I had to carry the 20 # bag over my shoulder past two employees who did not offer to help. I got the register with Olivia. I pointed out there are no carts at the entrance. She made no apologies. She never greeted me or thanks me. She just handed my receipt and walked off. Extremely rude.

Shoutout to Marti who was so happy to tell me how cute my little puppy was in her pumpkin costume! My dog Minnie Mouse was sniffing outside, Marti came out so excited to tell me about the 20% off. I had no idea! I just really love Halloween 🤣. Went inside and took pictures and Minnie got lots of butt scratches. Turns out Marti and I share a wedding anniversary! Happy anniversary Marti! We always come every Saturday for socialization and treats. But I specifically choose this location over any other store because it's big, clean, and all the employees are always friendly and kind. Minnie Mouse and I ❤️ PetCo and ❤️ Marti!

The vet here is super good. My dog has Addison's disease. They make it easy to pick up here steroids she takes every day. They have also gotten me out of a pinch when I didn't have her injectable med. They sold me a single does the day she was scheduled to get it. Thank you.Picture is for an FYI

Not autism friendlyTook my four-year-old autistic daughter to see some fishes ended up getting asked to leave the store because she was stimming and she tapped the tank once!! I get the it could scare the fish, but have some grace for autistic children and autistic people in general.Do better Petco.

I hate having to write a review for a company that’s not at fault but the lady with a bob cut and red hair really gave an attitude. Someone who’s suppose to guide you into finding what is needed should do it with a smile on their face to know they’re helping someone out. I would hope to get common decency when asking a question. I would appreciate it next time.

Some lady in a red bob with glasses was being really rude for no reason, i simply asked a question if she was not gonna sell the fish to us, and she said she did not need the attitude which there was no atitude in the question, she then continued to stare at me until i said something, i said do you need to stare at me and she responded with where else am i supposed to stare. it was really unprofessional of her. i've gone to that store a million times never once had a bad experience until today, im assuming she was the manager due to no name tag, but she sure didn't act like one.

Jolene is an awesome groomer. She is very caring, considerate and patient. She did a great job with my pup who doesn’t like her nails done but was very happy when she walked out of the salon and into the store. THANK YOU JOLENE!

I walked into this Petco that I have never been in before in San Marcos on Las Posas Road. I was looking for a flea product for this friend of mine's cat, because she's unable to go in because of the COPD and the person at the cash register knew about the product not being carried anymore the other employee went in the back looking for it, but the cashier she recommended another product and it ended up being less expensive and just very friendly very clean store and I will be back from my cat

I had two appointments to get my dog groomed. The first time I showed up and told them that my dog was on anti anxiety medication that the vet right next door in the same building confirmed I could use to get my dog groomed. Come to find out the doctor I saw was a “fill in” (which was not disclosed to me) and everything that I was told went against their policy and they turned me away for my dog being on medication that was recommended by one of their “Vets” . The second time I came in and my dog was not on the meds and guess what he was anxious and growled at one of the groomers and they turned me away again, they are not helpful whatsoever and I would not recommend them to anyone. Thanks for wasting my time and gas for nothing.

Love coming here with my doggy to buy his treats and to take him do it yourself bath for your companion. Here they have a variety of things/stuff for your dog needs. The staff here are beyond awesome and they do care for your visit. They have reasonable prices and great atomohere to browse through with nice A/C to enjoy. Maggy is the person who I request for her help because she knows my doggy for a long time. Go ahead and give them a visit and please don't forget your mask. Don't forget to take your 🐕 with you too.Enjoy....

Music is so loud in the store I can't remember what I needed to buy. My dog was scared to death because the music was so loud. Time to replace management. Not to mention this is animal crulity. Animals have sensitive ears.

Really a different feel for a pet store. The displays make everything feel more "boutique," and it's really designed as a one-stop-shop for your pet: self-serve wash, grooming, dog training, dog daycare, dog walking, vet services, and a feature are with the refrigerated Just Food for Dogs food products. I grabbed a free coffee while an employee walked me through recommendations. Well worth a membership for the store-wide lowered prices, free vet visits, discounts to services ($2 self-wash!), and more.

My review is solely on the self wash. The staff was good and set me up to wash my own dog. Being my first time, she explained everything to me. I liked the concept, however I was disappointed in the way they watered down the shampoo. It comes through the same hose as the water, so it's very water down but you do get some suds. After washing my dog a couple of times, I tried the conditioner, which just seemed like water. My dog doesn't even smell like she just had a bath. I won't use the service at this location again.

Grebia and Sam were so helpful and patient with me today! Great customer service and an understanding and welcoming team. I had a huge emergency that I needed to tend to and in the midst of my chaos they offered flexibility and it’s obvious that they really do care about their job.The dog trainer Christine is amazing! My dog adored her and I highly recommend her because we saw an amazing improvement in our puppy’s behavior at record speed.This is the best location for your pet.
