Toughest decision I’ve had to make was today. Today I surrendered my pet Bentley who’s a 3 year old American Bull dog mix. I am having a change of living situations as I have recently been hit with financial hardship amongst other life problems. It’s important he finds a forever home and lives the life he’s lived all along. He’s a well behaved and well adventured dog and deserves the continuance of that plus more. Bentley I love you will all my heart. I hope someone is able to welcome you into their life. Never could I have imagined separating from him, I pray for someone to welcome you into their lives

Immensely kind, compassionate, knowledgeable staff. It absolutely kills me that there's no foster program at all here, I feel like it would do wonders for these dogs. Went to a meet and greet and I would have genuinely loved to foster the dog I'm interested in, but staff informed me there's no possibility to do so. It just guts me, considering that particular dog has extremely strong fear/flight reactions, and there's so many studies on the tremendous benefits of fostering! I'm hopeful they'll reconsider, but ultimately I truly wish for the absolute best for these sweet dogs❤️

One of the cleanest and well kept animal shelters I have EVER been to. Not only were the staff accommodating and super friendly, they’re also super experienced and have such a love for what they do. It makes sense why this establishment has been around for almost 100 years now! Go and give a sweet puppy a forever-home at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society! 🐶

This is definitely one of the nicer humane societies in the area. The people that work here seem to care about the animals and the people coming to adopt themThey make everything very easy for the new pet owners and offer veterinarian services at a low cost.I've adopted from this facility a few times and have had good luck with all of themI would say be patient, expect some strong smells and loud noises, and of course don't forget to wash your hands before and after visiting. You can see some of the animals prior to visiting the facility by visiting their website

Very passionate they took good care of my baby I was able to get her back after three days missing. They chipped and vaccinated her. Thank God . It takes a very special person to do this type of service . Forever greatful.!

Only care about the money. Recently I found 5 kittens who looked malnourished and dehydrated we gave them something to eat and water and since we live in san Gabriel we wanted to leave them in our local shelter they didn’t want to take them and told us to put them back where we found them even though there was no mother and it was 95 degrees outside. We told them the information and they decided to tell us that they couldn’t take them and after we told them their conditions they said it didn’t matter. I have been to this shelter before when I wanted to adopt a dog. DO NOT COME HERE there’s other shelters and humane societies that care more about pets and the well being of animals. And when we opened the office door it’s smelled nothing but marihuana so unprofessional.

These people are not!!! a humane society. There is no humane in that society.. they put down... kill the animals in 72 hours. Just like Peta. How sad 😢 😢 ✌️💙🏇🏇🏇

The adoption process is confusing and based on subjective standards. I've had a terrier for 16 years and after she passed away, I decided to adopt another. When I went to the shelter, I saw a puppy that looks just like her. I filled out the application and asked if I can see the dog. They showed me the dog and we interact greatly with each other. I made the decision that I wanted to adopt her on the spot. The staff that showed me dog said I should be able to do that right away. However, after I went to the front desk I was told that I can't because there are so many applications pending for this particular dog. I had to wait until the next morning for their call. The next morning, nobody called. I went to the shelter one more time to speak to the manager why I wasn't chosen, and what's their criteria in evaluating the applications. The manager replied it's the dog that made the choice. Baloney. I asked what does that mean? How can you tell whether the dog like the person better than the another? She says it's just that we saw the dog was more attaching to that person. Another nonsense. Does that mean the dog was not attaching to me when I was there? If so, than why does the staff who show me the dog says she thinks I can take her right away? And what does "attaching" exactly mean? It's based on subjective observation, isn't it?She then went on to say there are other factors we look at, whether you have a yard, you can give the dog the attention she needs, the resources, etc. I said I met all of those criteria. I've had a dog for 16 years. I know how to take care of dogs. She then went on and say it's just that person was ready because they already made the payment for a training program for the dog. I said, "if you ask me, I'm willing to do that too. You didn't even asked." By the way, that was not even a question on the application.I suspect that this was a inside decision made by the management based on their personal likings of the applicants. It's possible that the management personally know the chosen applicant and it was a personal favor. When I adopted my previous dog at the same shelter, which was a lovely Norfolk terrier mixed. She was 8 months old, similar to the one that was shown to me. It was a first come first serve basis, they ask simple questions like do you have a yard, etc.? Buy hey, 16 years has passed, we are living in a more complicated and dark world now.

Hate the fact that I couldn’t come into the building (I trust my dog got his shots). I was given $10 back, because guy (staff) said they couldn’t clip his nails, because dog would not stay still😳really? You work with all kinds and sizes…you sure you are a trained staff??? A guy staff member was so afraid of a Shih Tzu, he went back inside to get a muzzle and wanted me to turn the dog around and place this behind in his hands. Man wasn’t friendly and acted like a wussy🙃I drove too far, not to be properly instructed on how there system works…I walked in the front door and they rushed me right out as if I walked in on a naked man😅

The employees here actually enjoy their jobs. They called to notify me my rain loving Husky had been found. When I arrived they all knew who she was by name! Because she is a spoiled cry baby and demanded their attention ever second of her short stay. Thanks again guys for getting my girl back home. Her sister appreciates it as well!

Big waste of time, why go to a place that doesn't want your business, covid style appointments needed to even look in the window from the street. Shocked employees to see you at the door, yet the staff, Tea Kettle standing there; I heard Baldwin Park giving folks the VIP treatment or Pomona, not like this covid style treatment. Just make it easier to adopt is all I can say here.

These places are a scam. Wouldn’t take an animal I saw someone dump. They Said it was “ probably a community animal “ WTAF!

I called this place for volunteering , the lady who answer the phone said yes , we are taking individuals to do volunteering. When I explained about three capable persons with mental disabilities to do volunteer work she cut me short and said we don't do that !!!! I felt discrimination for her part and that's why my review is poor .

A beautiful dog walked into my friends yard since he has an open driveway, long story short landlord wasn’t fond of him. My friend lives 1 BLOCK AWAY from this organization. We walked over to surrender the dog and they turned down the dog because they don’t service that area. Literally a block away from their building. RIDICULOUS, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. YOUR WEBSITE STATES YOU DONT TURN DOWN ANY ANIMAL NO MATTER HEALTH ISSUE, AGE OR BREED AND THAT IS COMPLETE BS. WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS TO THIS DECEITFUL ORGANIZATION

Small, almost rustic location with a great group of caring employees and volunteers. Not too many kennels, so the selection isn't huge, but they have several very adorable and adoptable puppies and dogs on site. You need to make an appointment to see what's available for adoption, but it's quick call and they'll set you up right away.

The staff there was very friendly and very helpful I really enjoyed going in and meeting all the pets The facility was very clean and the animals were so loving. I don't agree with their policy but they do have to protect their animals

I’ve never adopted an animal from here,so I can’t say anything about that. I neutered my cat here though and it was VERY budget friendly compared to my local vets. The neutering was I think $50 if I remember correctly. Each vaccine was about $20. However, their customer service is terrible. They leave you on hold for hours, change dates, long wait time between appointments, also makes you redo vaccines a couple weeks after you get them. I called when my cat was 8 months old,he got neutered at 1 year and a 1 month. If you’re on a tight budget, this place will do,but I’d acknowledge the poor customer service and wait time, along with the inconveniences.

Super nice staff went to get vaccines for my baby, easy quick tho the cash or check only for payment method was a bit more hassle then I had assumed it would be.

Today Me and my husband have a new member. I adopted Celia within 5 days after my adopt application be accepted. I made an appointment with them to meet Celia then I totally like her, Celia is very friendly, want to get attention. I was really impressed by the way that staffs working here. They are very professional, they explained everything for me to get know well with the cat, and they also gave me documents for cat vaccination due date. And especially they gave me all necessary things for cat like blanket (the one that cat used before coz it has cat smell), brand new toy, combo brush, litter box, cat treat, taglory, etc. All stuffs are brand new. My first time I adopted a cat and it was so great. Thanks San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for everything.

They should have informed me that license year began in June, I would have waited until then for new puppy. Vaccinations and rabies offered at fair rates, however.

DO NOT GO HERE! Go to any other humane society, but not this one. You would think wow these prices are affordable and yes this place seems like a professional setting to care for my companion animal...think again. I had purchased the kitty package taking care of her shots and spaying her, however I ended up having to take my kitty to another hospital and end up with a bill of 2,000 dollars!! They ended up botching my kitty, didn’t take responsibility for their mistakes and I end up with a high bill at another hospital. As I tried to contact them they kept avoiding me and had no idea what the issue was with my kitty. I’m so disappointed with this place and I don’t want any other animal to have to deal with the pain and suffering they put my kitty through. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If you truly love your pet, take them elsewhere, save your money, prevent the pain and suffering. They should shut this place down! I’m not the only one who experience a traumatic event here.

I have two kitten that are 8 months old and they need shots and to be spayed. I found their kitten package super affordable and I wish I had called sooner. Pet co cost for vaccines are the same price as all 3 shots plus the spay!!! Imagine that!!! The staff was efficient and so was the Vet.
