I was skeptical going in because of the bad reviews but Kim was sooo kind and helpful! He was knowledgeable about each fish and which ones would get along with eachother or not.He had a wide and exotic array to choose from and I am thrilled to have adopted a bunch of other fish. We want eels and a shark and while there were some there either the price was out of our budget or not what we preferred, so Kim said he would do some shopping and show us new options when available.Each fish was scooped and packaged with care and he didn't mind staying late to help us get everything.Despite him saying everything wouldnbe fine, he did sell us a few fish and things that he shouldn't have, like seahorses! We returned them the next day!! Also he sold us two foxfaces which are fighting now despite the 750gal tank which he was very familiar with (We just bought a house with it built in) He also sold us 4 baby clowns one disappeared and I think it was cause of the large mp60 fans we have since one of the shrimps he sold also got sucked in. I bought fish guards online to try and save what I have. He also sold us live sand instead of just regular sand which our 8year old very established tank didn't need. So while he was nice and enthusiastic, it also seemed greed was on his side to just sell us whatever.We will be trying other aquarium shops.

Do not buy any fishes from this store I bought 6 fishes , two of them where unhealthy there is no lights on the aquarium so its really hard to see if there healthy or showing any signs of illness. one died 3 days later and now two other ones are showing signs off illness. Now worried about my other fishes that I've had. Avoid this place.

I love salties they have an amazing choice of fishes. I asked him for very specific fishes he had them waiting for me the next day. Amazing with my newborn and questions.

This place is great. It's a small business that's been in the community for a long time. The owner is old school , but very experienced. I think all these bad reviews are from people that were expecting a mall type store. One item I purchased was more than what I would have got it on Amazon but the other items were cheaper than other fish stores, but that is common at mom and pop shops.

They have unique and wonderous sea life for sale. However, I found the owners to be quite unfriendly. Haven't felt that unwelcome in a mom and pop shop maybe ever. Still they have cool stuff so it's up to you if a lack of customer service is a deal breaker.

Just be aware of what you need before going in. If you need Saltwater/RO H20 sure. Other than that, live rock/live stock has every pest you can think of, for fish and coral needs just go elsewhere. Wasted $100 on live rock (guy pockets cash after making up prices) told pest free to have aptasia, worms,(flat/worse) ect... sucked..... had to re cycle a tank because of this store

The owner is supercool. I bought a cool Kole Yellow eyed Tang from him. I brought my tang home. My damsels bullied him. So the next day I took 5 damsels back to him. He took them with no problem and gave me some store credit. He knew the right fish to sell me for my algae problem. Good price on water too. Good price on metal halides.This will be my new store.

Was in riverside for a visit, wanted to check out a couple stores and found this. For starters when I walked in the owner was watching movies with I assume his girl or wife. Fish had no prices on them, so AGIAN I assume he makes up his own prices, as he goes along. The guy very rude, and seems annoyed by questions. So I converted to just joking around to break the ice. With all attempts, I figure this guy didn't want to be bothered, wanted to continue his movie. The fish didn't look healthy and sick. Don't and waste you time and money driving here. Big slap in the face for the hobby!! Wish I could give no stars!!

The place is terrible. I don't recommend anyone to come here. There are lots of better fish stores to go it that actually take care of their fish.

Hey I always have a great experience at saltys from the time I walk in the door tell I plop my fish into my custom salt water tank .I in joy the owner and his wife and enjoy the great customer service and the friendly nolig that the owner him self helps us and gives us .Saltys has some nice soft curls and enemy's !Dustin briggs.

Went to see if they had fresh water as well as salt water. Was hit up about signing a petition. Since we weren't interested in the political stuff he was kinda rude he said sorry I asked in a rude voice. Wow.....I'm not here to talk politics or have it shoved Down my throat. Never again will I go there or reccomend. You people are in the wrong business!

You need something for your aquarium or just starting out...then Salties is the place to go. Owner will give great advice and let you know how to take care of your tank.

Horrible store. Sick fish living in poor quality water and tanks unfit for survival. Too bad the ASPCA doesn't rescue fish... this store needs to be closed down. Do not, under any circumstances, buy any fish or coral from this shop.

SALTIES!!!!! DONT EVER GO THERE ! MANAGER IS SUCH A SCAM , NO RECEIPTS EVERYTHING IS POCKETED AND GIVING AT HIS OWN PRICE, HIS WIFE IS THE RUDEST LADY AND SHOULDNT BE IN A BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, THIER ILLEGAL AND JUST TRYING TO SELL HIS FISH, FOR A OVER RATED PRICE. THAT LITERALLY DIED WITHIN A WEEK OF HAVING THEM, TOOK THE FISH I HAD LEFT AND KEPT THEM THERE FOR A FEW DAYS SAID HE WOULD CURE THEM , AND COME TO FIND OUT HE TRIED SELLING THEM TO MY FRIEND, & TOLD ME IF I HADNT WENT TO GO PICK THEM UP THAT DAY HE WAS GOING TO SELL THEM. WHAT KIND OF "OWNER" DOES THAT WITHOUT CALLING THE CUSTOMER. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE WITH HIM AGAIN 7 FISH DEAD AND A STARFISH DEAD. SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.NO REFUND NO RECIPT NOTHING.
