Friendly great people my only thing that I learned from there is to never buy a Guinea pig. We bought 1 about 2 weeks and 4 days it died because maybe it was old. No one knew how old it was, but it died. Now my daughter Miss her little guinea pig

I take my maltipoo for grooming they always have to reschedule. One groomer was able to do him without any issues, apparently the last time we took him he was biting which I never had any issues with him before. NOW they talked to the manager to refered him OUT OF ALL PETCOS don’t understand why if ONE groomer is not patient or doesn’t know how to treat dogs I don’t think the rest are the same. I’m really upset and disappointed. This is the Port Hueneme location I will STOP going there, anyway all the time I looke for someone to help me with food advice there’s no one there.

Go adopt a cat from here, you won't regret it. The only reason I gave 4 stars is they don't usually have the best price. But selection is great and you can adopt a cat while your dog gets groomed. Lots of great services. I bought all my kitten supplies here.

I was in there on 5-29-2023 and purchased a combo pack of meal and wax worms.. Out of the 50 each only about 5 were alive.. I will never buy live feeders there again.. I ended up having to order them on Amazon and threw the rest of what I bought out.. the born date was 4-13-2023. I should have suspected something by that, but when I noticed I was already home..

This review is for this specific store location. The other stores in the neighboring towns have great customer service. Unfortunately for me and my family - this one is the nearest to my home. The pet store closed earlier than stated and lacked available staff to assist customers on the floor. I even called ahead of time to make sure that the store will be open. I arrived 30mins before the advertised closing time posted on the window. (A few minutes later 3-4 customers arrived only to be disappointed). This affected my shopping experience negatively and will not be shopping here for my pet needs. I hope they improve their customer service and adhere to their opening hours in the future.

My overall experience from Petco Hueneme has changed throughout the years. At one point I enjoyed receiving their services and staff. Unfortunately today, I had a scheduled grooming appointment for my one year old toy poodle. I alerted twice when I was scheduling the appointment and in-person that my pup had a few matted spots. Not extreme at all. Both groomers at the scene told me she was badly matted. I told them she was not matted as how they were describing. I told them I was confused to why they were telling me this because she was not extremely matted. I told them I know the difference when it is extremely matted to when there’s a few matted knots. I was very frustrated and told them why don’t they alert their customers when they schedule an appointment that they do not accept any dogs with matted fur that includes small matted knots because I wasted my time waiting and to drive to the appointment to get this news. They tell me that I should tell corporate about this (like if they really want to hear a customer’s feedback). They try to brush it off by saying it is part of their new protocol and that is why the old groomer team were let go because of one matted dog ruined for everyone else’s experience. I was mad that they wasted my time, try to gaslight me that my dog was extremely matted, and were not apologetic. I’ve mentioned that I’ve been going to this specific grooming Petco store for the past 8 years for my other dogs for their grooming services before they closed down. When I heard that petco’s Hueneme Grooming department service was back open, I was excited to receive their grooming services with them again. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to Petco Hueneme’s grooming place and I warn all dog and cat owners who have fluffy or long haired pets to not come here because they will not accept pets who have a few matted spots👎🏼Side note: shout out to Alyssa, Petco’s Dog Trainer for being always polite and understanding. Helped my dog get training from her👍🏼

Need to pay attention to fish. Multiple dead ones I was able to find floating up at top on their sides. Wasn’t hard to see at all was only looking for not even 5 mins. Staff needs to do better job taking care of Fish. Can’t imagine care of the other animals if the Fish aren’t taken care of properly. Do yourself a favor drive to the PetCo in Ventura. Store is Clean, Stocked , All Fish looked like they were taken care of properly. Like a real PetCo should be. This store looks as sad as their fish.. This the worst one I saw

The bottom barrel of the chore list... going to petco. It stinks. It's not the emloyees fault. Petco is always understaffed and corporate makes you jump through hoops just to buy a couple stinkin mice!

Took my Goldendoole on Christmas Eve for a grooming. My dog was cut on her back leg and they did not mentioned anything. A few days later, she end up having surgery as her cut got infected.

Booked a grooming appointment online but went to grooming appointment and no one was there. I tried calling multiple times and there was no answer. Employee at the front apologized and said they had no groomers. Store is pretty unorganized as well, looks like they might be moving but maybe that’s just how it is. Not sure I’ll be returning

Cool place. It's where we get our dog food for Ozzie. He is a small mixed breed dog. Lo e that you can take the dog in there with you. The cashiers are friendly and always have treats for your dog. This place also has a grooming place and a bunch of other animals

I come to this Store once a week to get mice. Today I went to the store to get a mice. Walked in went to the mice isle found two workers and asked for help with a mice. It was a man and woman working in fish dept.The woman said ok. I was waiting for 15mins standing there in same spot then the cashier walked up to me then went back to check out. I waited another 10min b4 the woman told me the man went to get the key for mice. I walked in with a hot cup of coffee and when I finally got the mice my cup was empty! I went to pay for mice and the woman told me sorry for the wait and I told her ok at least you talked to me, no one else did! Then the cashier said to me. There's only 3 of us working rt now.I told her I know but ALL 3 OF YOU SAW ME STANDING THERE AFTER I ASKED FOR HELP AND DIDN'T GET ANY HELP FOR 25 MINUTES! SHE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING! I TOLD HER THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT! VERY SAD THAT I WAS ONLY ONE IN THE STORE AT THAT TIME AND TOOK 25 MINS TO GET A MICE I ASKED FOR WHEN I WALKED IN!

Poor customer service regarding incorrect pricing on one of the dog toys. The toy in question was in a basket full of the same type for the listed price of 3.99 per the label. It was actually 12.99 and they did not honor the labeled price. They instead asked if I wanted to put it back and grab another toy… I’ve gotten better customer service at other locations. They rolled their eyes when I suggested that they should change the label as to not mislead future customers…

Poorly stocked shelves. Carts full of food blocking many isles.Bathrooms locked with no notice you needed to get key from cashier. when I got the key it was for the wrong bathroom, ladies instead of men's. The Ladies bathroom was filthy.I told the man at the cashiers he just replied ok, no indication it would be looked into

Petco needs to pay attention to this store. First, the groomers all left under curious circumstances. Now, stores a mess again, no customer service. Nobody to deliver my items to the curb as ordered, waited in line 10 minutes while the ONE cashier struggled to re-ring the guy in front of me 3X times for his crickets and fish while im standing there with a 15 pound puppy on my arm who could not be put down- two others in line waiting. Cashier clearly did not know what she was doing but refused help. Will not be shopping here again soon.

I only go to the dog isles, so my rating is based on dog supplies.. I gave a 4 star because the havnt had my food in stock in the store, but that isn’t the stores fault, it’s something corporate. None of the stores have it. So I have been ordering online… which has actually been more convenient because now I don’t have to carry 45 lbs upstairs.They have treats that he can eat with his allergies..as far as the store, customer service is always good even when they seem understaffed. They are always helpful if I ask to check in the back.

I found out that inventory and pricing you see online is not the same. It very much seems that they post items that are not available at discounted prices in order to get you in the door then give you the unfortunate news that they just sold the last one or that the item is on order waiting for delivery, but for a little bit more you can buy the upgraded version or another brand which is better. There once was a store in Oxnard named Frys that did the same thing and now they are gone because they were unreliable. Strange thing that there are no sales people walking the floor, they are all up front keeping each other company which is something that Frys employees used to do as well. The only sure way to keep your job is to actually care about it. You need to be willing to help the customers that walk through the door without being asked. You know or should know why they are there.. "to purchase something", when you fail to show interest or motivation in what you are there for your potential sales start disappearing. Over time that means the store loses revenue and the store cannot afford to pay its employees " You" and you lose your job. Its simple, go to work " to work" not to hang out in the front and collect a check. Your store needs to be cleaned up and organized all day long. Earn your pay don't expect to get paid for doing nothing. Just sitting or standing behind the register is not working. You think I'm wrong? That's the problem...

We have our dog on a once a month grooming with this store. I’m a bit disappointed that our appointments have been cancelled twice now because of shortage of groomers. Alright I understand the shortage part but why could the person who call me help out a little and say here let’s see if any other store has an opening, or we can reschedule on this day, needless to say nothing was offered to me so now I’m wondering if I should just cancel my scheduled appointments and go elsewhere ?

Went I to store to buy fish. Young lady knew nothing about fish. When I asked for help she appeared bothered. A smile and a thank you would have helped. I asked to use the bathroom which they keep locked. Bathroom was dirty. Handicap stall was clogged and had “stuff” in it. Paper all over the floor and the trash bib was overflowing with poster towels. I was in early in the morning, so no excuse. I let the young man know, name was Cooper, and he was apologetic. But—-will anyone clean it.I won’t come to this store again. I am spending my money in a store where I am fully satisfied.Get it together Petco!

Been coming here for years and the place has always been very clean and organized. Staff has always been very professional and knowledgeable about obtaining and caring for animals. They take their time and have always been great at answering any questions. I've been taking my kids here over the years and every time we have gone for a new pet we have always came home with the right one for My kids that is within their caring ability.
