I had a good experience with this barbershop.I was just passing through Placerville and had grabbed some lunch at a local pub just down the street.I noticed this place and the barbers sitting outside. I needed a little trim so I asked if they could get me in.The young good looking female barber, Meesh, took me straight in and did a great job. She gave me one of her stickers which I put on the back of my helmet.Although, I felt $32 was a little expensive for a trim and shave of the back of my neck, I didn't mind.It was a last minute walk in, with no wait and she was very pleasant and professional.And there's motorcycle parking right outside.

Bowtie and staff are top tier. Extremely knowledgeable, great conversations, all in a unique shop with plenty of interesting things to look at and reminisce about! A truly classic old timey barber shop! After searching for a local placer for kids cuts decided to stop by with my littles. Ace and Michele cut my kiddos hair and they did an amazing job. Even with a squirmy 3yo the cut is amazing and I highly recommend this place for anyone else looking! I know I will continue to come here for my kids cuts and have already recommended my husband and dad start coming here.

I've been thinking "I should try these guys out" for a couple years now. I usually just buzz my own hair -- not typically too concerned with looking my best, but I've been practicing more self care lately and thought a proper haircut would be good. Really disappointed. The gal who cut my hair asked me what I wanted, and then insulted me for my answer and refused to cut my hair how I'm used to. "Yeah, this isn't great clips. I'm not doing that." I didn't push back at the time, but in retrospect it really was awful service; if you want to practice your "art" then do so on your own time & dime. If people are paying you for a haircut, you should *at a minimum* treat them with respect when you give your input, and really, you should give them the haircut they ask for. The actual haircut was objectively fine, but it wasn't what I asked for, and unfortunately the experience casts a shadow to large to ignore.Service: Custom cut

Great atmosphere! They keep it funny, but keep it appropriate when kids are around. Every barber in there from what I've seen is very talented. I personally request Slim, he's just done what I needed perfectly every time. But, you're in good hands regardless of which barber you get. Great shop.

Haircut turned out great, by Ace. $30 for a men’s cut, but wouldn’t tell me how much for a men’s cut over the phone, for some reason. Takes cash only. If you don’t have cash, there’s an atm at the bank, a few doors down. Atmosphere is VERY laid back, which is cool if your into that, but wasn’t really my cup of tea. Would return for the good haircut at a fair price, but not really for anything else.

Exactly what i asked for. The new hire was an experienced barber that gave me an amazing haircut and the old staff created an enoyable atmosphere full of jokes and laughs. Laidback but professional. Very nice.

I normally don't try out new haircuts but I told the barber what I wanted and he said it wouldn't work well. I told him to do what he thinks is best and I am amazed and very grateful that I went to these guys . I will only be going to this barber and I am not nervous about trying out new haircuts anymore.(as long as it's by them)Service: Custom cut

Called to see if they talk walk ins. Said they only take walk ins. Said cool. Asked how much a mens haircut cost. Says they don’t discuss price over the phone. Doesn’t make sense. He says it’s company policy. Not even a range for price. It’s a mens haircut. You say 20 bucks or maybe a little more if you want something more tedious. We’re not negotiating for a car. You say it costs X and I say I’ll see you soon. Glad I didn’t come here since I’ve looked them out and the owner seems to be a dead beat and a racist.

We can't thank them enough for putting up with our great grandsons haircut. I'm sure they have seen it all but to put up with a three year old boy getting upset and doing there best to make him happy shows how professional they are. Thank you, I hope I'm right, to Pinky for the patience with Zed. Everyone in the shop and even the customers were trying to help. Thanks again.

I visited the Bowtie Barbershop in Downtown Placerville today for a short haircut for my super fine hair. The shop is really cute and the atmosphere is really cool. Michelle did such a great job. It looks so much better. She's a doll too. All ages and genders served. Really reasonable prices. I highly recommend them.

This place is dope. Cool shop, cool atmosphere, cool people. Front porch style super welcoming vibes. Tarantino level of California-ness. Miche did a great job (sorry Miche if I didn’t spell that right). Too bad I don’t cut my hair more often or I’d be there all the time. Thanks guys 🤘

The only place I go for a cut ! Bowtie and his barbers set the standard for what a haircut should be. I've got my hair cut by Slim the last couple times and it was perfect! No need to look around if you're looking for a classic cut, thx y'all.

I've been going here for a year and the guys working here have shown me their respect, and their skill. I once had them stay afterhours to cut my hair! They remember me and all the gents that walk in by name. Kid friendly, very sociable crew. I recommend calling a head of time to get in cause, the appointments go fast!

Bowtie & Ace are amazing! I received amazing customer service with a cut and shave. Bowtie really took his time with the shave and the preparation for the shave was wonderful. Hot towels on my face, oils then another hot towel. Then more hot towels after the shave. Wow, I felt spoiled coming here. Thank you very much Bowtie and Ace for an amazing experience. Looking forward to next time!

Great atmosphere, lots to look at. However, I had a rookie in training. Well over an hour in the chair. Trainor very demeaning to rookie. Additionally, a customer came in complaining about getting a ticket from law enforcement. All barbers had negative comments about said agency. My agency. I kept my mouth shut. A business should know its clients that order a high and tight might be law enforcement. Very unprofessional. I gave a $15 tip to the rookie regardless. I will not be returning.

Needed a cut really bad and couldn't go see my regular guy, so I decided to give this place a shot, I could not of been more impressed by not only the cut (fade with a straight razor line up and beard trip) which was done by Dallas btw, but the environment its really special you can tell the main guy (the owner) pours his heart n soul into this place. I definitely will be back and who knows I may have found a new regular.
