The food was delicious and the atmosphere distinct — a truly wonderful experience. The only negative was that the service was slow (place was busy) so be prepared for that and all will be amazing. Though the place was full of tourists like us, it definitely was NOT a tourist trap maintaining its authenticity. The history of the place is interesting and the decor inside reflects that — it feels one part biker bar and two parts cowboy/western saloon. The stage has hosted some incredible acts including Sir Paul McCartney, though there was no live music during our Friday afternoon visit.Food was very tasty ranging from steaks and burgers to BBQ (see menu image). There were also a lot of fun cocktails and drinks. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. It took about 40 minutes to get there from Palm Springs, but makes a great stop on way back from Joshua Tree National Park.

Pappy and Harriet's is pretty awesome. Traveled here from Mass for an outdoor show. We came early for the food. I was stoked to find there are plenty of vegetarian/vegan options and my dishes were excellent. The venue outside is small and intimate but a really bizarre setup. Like maybe only half of the grounds have a view of the stage and the ground is lumpy and slanted the opposite way it should be. Overall it was an awesome time.

The prices for the portions are quite high plus nothing comes with sides. The $9 large fry as a side was not enough for three people with their sandwich orders, didn't get a picture of the third item as it came out about 5 minutes after the first two. They also add a kitchen tip onto the bill which we didn't see any warnings about. The food was good but nothing really stood out. The atmosphere of the restaurant/ bar area was cool but with the above comments not worth going back for.Parking: There seemed to be a lot of parking but it wasn't slammed busy while we were there.

This place is BUSY! We arrived just after 3pm which we thought would be less busy being in between lunch and dinner and it was an hour wait for two people.Service was excellent- there was a tallBlonde waitress who checked on us a bunch during our meal and was a rockstar taking care of all her tables.Plenty of parking! There is parking the front of the restaurant, a whole parking lot in the back, and street parking.Food was good 👍🏻 chips and guac and the carrot cake were BOMB! 💣 but the entrees were okay nothing to brag about. Drinks were well made and a great amount of alcohol in them.Atmosphere is great! Live music and great decorations!Ordered: chips and guac, Loaded grilled cheese (with avocado and bacon), grilled chicken sandwich, small side of fries, carrot cake and vanilla ice cream, multiple alcohol beverages.

A great stop while I was in Joshua Tree National Park. This restaurant is located in Pioneertown, an old and western style town. Food is great but get ready to wait in line for 30 minutes and another 40' for your food. It worth your time for sure! Also, not phone service or internet that's great you can focus in the food and the ambient.

This was my second time visiting Pappys and it didn’t live up to my first visit. The ribs were a bit dry and the waiter wasn’t very helpful. But it was a really busy night and it was a really fun atmosphere so take it with a grain of salt! Still my favorite ribs in the desert!Parking: Parking is a dirt lot, there are some pretty heavy ruts in the lot but nothing most cars can’t handle

This was our first meal of the new Year and it was Ah-May-Zing! We are big BBQ people and heard good things. We sat in the back and had our dogs with us, they gave dog bowls which was nice. The burger was huge and I basically had to unlatch my jaw to take a bite was soo good, make sure to have it Pappy's way. We got a half rack for ribs and we wished we got more the sauce and rub were so good. The Mac and cheese to die for. Only complaint is that it was pretty cold and they never got around to turning the heater on next to us, other than that it was awesome and I highly recommend!

I'm torn because I wanted to like and enjoy this spot given its rich history and 4.6 average review but my experience was not great.I'm a fan of the atmosphere inside the venue. When entering the main entrance, towards the left you'll see the bar area with a lot of seating. Towards the right you'll see a lot of seating split between two rooms and in the back room there's a medium size stage for live music. No one was playing during my visit.Sorry to say but the service was less than average during my visit. My group and I went after 5pm on a Friday and it was crazy packed. Our wait time was about 15 - 20 mins. My rating is not based on the wait time but on the actual service. The waitress we had was hospitable upon our initial ordering but she never came back around to get our drink orders when we asked for more time. She made at least 3 - 4 more passes in our area to tend to other customers but never checked back in with us. I had to wave at her to get her attention and that was a solid 10 - 15 mins after placing our food order. The food was average to less than average as well. We ordered the Bison burger made Pappy's way, Harriet's Chili Nachos, Steak Salad and a Dusty Boot drink. The bison burger was good but there was definitely more bun to meat ratio. The bacon for Pappy's way was too hard to the point that made my mouth uncomfortable when trying to chew it down. The waitress did inform us that they make the tortilla chips for the nachos in-house which I really enjoyed. The steak salad was decent, though it seemed fairly high priced for what it is. The tri tip was good and there's a good ratio of meat to greens. The Dusty Boot drink was not good. It tastes like a watered down old fashioned. This was a one and done place for me and my group. I'm sure it's more interesting with live music.

First time visit to Joshua Tree area. I had read great things about the restaurants in Pioneer Town. We had a 20 min wait for a party of 3 at 5:00 pm on a Saturday. We were seated quickly and attended within a few minutes. The Mezcal cocktail I ordered was slightly disappointing because it was poorly balanced. It was just pure heat when you drank it until further dilution made it drinkable. The chips and salsa order took about 15 minutes and that was after I reminded them. It was salsa and chips that both came out of a store bought container. The salmon, broccoli and fries were excellent. Great flavor and seasoning. Overall, I think I just had higher hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews but it was still good.Dietary restrictions: Took care of my daughters food allergies. Peanut, Tree Nuts, Sesame and Shellfish.Kid-friendliness: The seasoning on the ribs was a bit spicy. Beware for some children.

Easily one of the best places to go in this part of the desert. The space is really cool, the drinks are good, and so is the food. If you’re into any of the history of this area then you probably already love it. Check in and seating is a little rough -some people get buzzers. Some are just in line until a table is ready. Get something from the grill menu and get the chili.Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed in the dining rooms. It’s loud enough any screaming isn’t going to bother anyone.

Great place to see a show if you get there early and don’t mind waiting in line. They could use better management for their restaurant. Long line to be told the wait was 3 1/2 hours for a table at 7:30pm on a Friday. They were having two shows that night, but could figure out a better system and have more info posted so people aren’t waiting in the wrong area.Maybe a map of the venue on their website? Where to park, check in for show, get quick service food, etc. Could have more quick service info, quicker drink service at the bar, and better line area to wait.Real nice venue if all works out though, small and intimate shows inside and large open air stage outside.Lots of great bands come through and they’ve definitely improved from that one time 10 years ago when I was served a drink with a dirty quarter at the bottom.

I didn't try the food as I checked out the venue for a show, and wanted my attention to be on the performance instead of stuffing my face. Before the show began, I was in awe. The atmosphere is truly iconic. I cannot believe I wasn't aware of this location until this week! I want to come back to see more of this place and try the food as well. The smell was mouthwatering.

When in Rome…Can’t visit Pioneertown and NOT try Pappy & Harriet’s.Our Alice In Chains t-shirt wearing host was great…along with great taste in music.Read mixed reviews on tri-tip but it was cooked to perfection, almost melt in your mouth. I loved the sauce on the side, so I can choose how much I wanted…which was all of it.My wife enjoyed the BLTA (A=Avocado).Great old time vibe. Must stop by!Wheelchair accessibility: Two large spots to park right in front on a concrete slab. All other parking is dirt.

Ugh, hosts weren’t helpful unfortunately. We did come late and understand they wanted get out of there, but they were mean and unhelpful sadly. The security guard we spoke to gave us great recommendations for the rest of the night, and helped get us situated the way the hosts should have. Sorry we are from out of town and just wanted food, like we totally get it, but we would’ve loved a straight answer so we could sort out our night as we are so hungry and tired, as I am sure staff was.

Food was pretty good, but seriously $22 for a burger with bacon and you don't even include fries. Which reminds me, the fries that were a separate purchase, total cold mush. Server never checked on us and then they list 18% Good, 20% Great, 25% Excellent. Yeah, maybe you should stop by my table if you think you deserve a 25% tip. Total tourist trap, don't waste your time going here

There was a long wait but we walked around the town while waiting and it made the time pass quickly. The Mac and Cheese was amazing. No fake cheese and had great flavor. Probably the best Mac and cheese I’ve had in a restaurant. The ribs and the pork chop were good as well; the pork chop tasted like it had been brined! It was delicious! Highly recommend a stop here!Kid-friendliness: It is a loud restaurant so even if kids are loud it isn’t noticed.

We went to a concert and did not have any food at the complex. What a great venue and so much fun being outside and in the desert. The staff was very nice and helpful, and it was easy to get in. Parking is another issue, and once you leave the property, It always takes a long time to get out. But that's OK. You will always enjoy being at Pappy and Harriet's.
