I was pleasantly surprised by how this store is like a cross between Whole Foods and a regular supermarket. It was much bigger than I expected and has a very good selection. If you have the Amazon app, there is a cart where you can scan your purchases and pay without having to use the checkout. Everything in the store was clearly marked. I thought the digital displays in the aisle were a nice touch. There is a Krispy Kreme in the store that also sells drinks right by the entrance. I think the only thing that was missing was the bulk items bin but otherwise it is a very nice store with plenty of parking.

It was a little different as one can track and pay with their shopping cart kiosk. No waiting in a line and go through self check out. Pretty convenient. Just bag your groceries, wave your receipt and walk out. Nobody looks at it.

Overall, it's pricey but still can find on sales items in good price. If you are Amazon Prime member, a little additional discount will be applied. Usually I scan my QR code membership to the cart. I'm still learning how to make good use of the high tech shopping. Be honest, very inconvenience but fun to learn. I got assistance 5 times from my 45 minutes shopping yesterday. Everytime I learned something new from the Amazon Fresh system. The last fun part was check out by rolling your cart on green zone. Then you are ready to go.

This wouldn't be my 1st place to shop, but it has unique qualities. It is a cool feature to scan when you get in and then just leave the store with your cart, but the time I went that was down so I had to be checked out by a cashier. They now have this option where you can check out using biometrics by scanning your palm. That is a bit much for me. I would only shop here if there was something I wanted that was on sale. They don't carry everything normal grocery stores would but they do have most of what you need. My go-to here is getting their Poke bowl at less than $11 it's cheaper than some Poke restaurants. Their hot bar is currently at $8.99 which can get pricey, but if you don't want to cook it's a great option. Lots of variety of food to choose from.Sometimes if you are returning an Amazon purchase and decide to return to an Amazon Fresh store they will give you a coupon for doing so. I was able to get $10 of the $40 purchase for returning something there. Also, check your Amazon or the app because sometimes they have coupons for shopping a certain week or month. I think this style of shopping could be great for introverts who don't like to interact with people or just people who want to shop by getting in and out faster. There’s plenty of parking & curbside pick-up. This used to be where the hardware store OSH used to be.

Ok I was impressed with the Pasadena Amazon fresh store. It was a large store, clean and had many employees working there. The produce looked good, fresh and priced competitively. There was a butcher case, and food court where they had a salad bar and other items like pasta and samosas. There were slices of pizza for sale at $1.99 each. Pastries and coffee machine. I got 2 slices of pizza and the cheese ricotta pizza was really delicious. The vegetable pizza was also tasty. I got a cappuccino and it was okay for $1.99. I enjoyed shopping at this store and the deal of the week is 20 % off for prime members.

“Use your digital wallet” they say “scan in and out so quickly” they say “convenient” they say. Wrong and wrong again. Turns out their digital wallet doesn’t work when you need it the most.I forgot my wallet today. No problem, everything is in my Apple Pay. I finished all my shopping and the digital wallet “randomly” asked for verification. So it wouldn’t accept payment. No problem, I used my Apple Pay — they don’t take it. What a controlling thing to do. If you cannot guarantee your digital payment works, you should not refuse standard payment methods.I won’t be back. This was the most inconvenient thing any store has ever implemented. 20 minutes in the checkout, after navigating all the limited options to pay, my child was crying on the floor and the attendant kept just telling me “I can’t override it”. so I finally just left without any of my groceries.

Visited Amazon Fresh for the first time yesterday. It is a cool place and a fun tech shopping experience. They have recently updated the store with Dash carts that you use to scan items as you shop. You begin by logging into your Amazon account and as you wander the aisles it makes suggestions of items based on you past purchases. The cart keeps track of the running total for you and you can easily use weekly coupons. It was VERY cold in the store and it did not smell great when we went. Not sure what that was about. There is plenty of parking and the store did not feel particularly busy. Aisles are a little narrow but there is enough room to move around.Checkout using the Dash cart is easy. There is a specific lane, you hit checkout on the screen and it determines your total and charges you via your Amazon payment account.

First time for me!Walk in and scan your Amazon code when you enter. If you don’t have an app and want to experience the store. They welcome you too! There is a separate push door without scanning an app!Walk around and put it whatever you want in your cart. You’d get charged as you put it in your cart. There’s cameras everywhere so that’s how they know which items you grab. When you take it out, they’ll know too! Of course, check your receipt later!Scan on your way out. The receipt does not get to you till hours later. Not sure how it would work if there was an error though. If you are a shopper that doesn’t have an Amazon account, just go straight to the cashier! They’d be able to help you check out.Prices: they do have deals! And a lot of the produce are very standard pricing. Some things are more expensive though.Food: they have warm and cold food available! I would have to go back and try it. They do have raw fish.

Initially, Amazon Fresh was my new go-to grocery store as it offered great prices and I could easily return my Amazon orders there. But after having multiple issues with my returns, I decided to no longer drop them off there so I haven't frequented here as much anymore. When I do, things have been okay for the most part. What annoys me is that whenever there is a sale on something popular, it usually sells out quickly so I am unable to purchase it. Also there are certain items (like their store brand bagels) that always sell out every time I go there, so I feel like their stock replenishing could use some work. I also feel like parking can be tough at times, it always looks almost full for some reason while the store isn't even crowded.

It’s different but I kinda like it. I walked in not knowing what to expect. I love the entrance which gives you 2 options. 1. The new/future way of shopping. 2. Traditional shopping. If you take the blue pill (option 2. Traditional) nothing really changes. But you take the red pill (new/ future) shopping experience you actually register your phone or hand 🖐️ to your Amazon account what this does is it allows you to enter the store and exit without ever dealing with a self check out or a person check out. You will notice a bunch of cameras inside the market. This is what determines what you buy. Important 🚨only grab what you plan on buying. As soon as you grab something the camera will charge your account. So if you change your mind on an item please put it back. I highly recommend you talk to an employee. They were actually super nice. My favorite thing was the sushi 🍣 🔥

The store is very cozy and futuristic in terms of method of shopping. You simply scan your Amazon Apps when entering. Then you pick up anything you want. Finally, you scan your Amazon Apps again when exiting. After around 30 minutes or so, the total shopping details will be shown in your apps. The apps will even know if you brew a cup of Amazon coffee in the store. Oops, yes, they do have a coffee vending machine. Well, they also still allow traditional way of shopping, which you simply enter the shop as usual without scanning your apps through a different entrance. Then you pay manually at the cashier when checking out. The goods are not fully stocked yet and the store seems to be quiet...

Support people, not billionaires. It’s okay inside. But nothing special - no reason to go here than anywhere else. The only reason I’ve shopped here is to support the fact that they host ChargePoint stations in their lot. No more — they have decided to block off access to the charging stations today because they made the choice to use the same location for their storage. Idle forklift blocking chargers. (Area circled in yellow in attached photo.). I’ll be happy to support ChargePoint and not Amazon on future visits.

Since opening, I've been coming here for all my family's grocery needs. They offer quality groceries at reasonable price. In addition, their employees usually are pleasant and helpful. However, today, when I ordered two pizzas with common courtesies like, "thank you and have a good day", a female, Hispanic, 30's gave me the stoned-face treatment. We all have personal issues in life. But we go to work, we put up our game face and act professionally. Hopefully, management team would talk to her and provide counseling, if needed.

Plenty of parking and interesting use of technology. There is someone at the front to explain to you how everything works.Kinda daunting knowing there are literally hundreds of cameras above monitoring your every move. There is fresh hot food you can choose to eat and buy in the back right side. Interesting concept and the food smelled good.

Very nice and clean store but beware of a middle aged African American lady who is the cashier. She did not apply my physical gift card balance and instead kept the gift card herself. I advise double checking your receipt.Do self check out instead. Also, prices are kind of high for some items.

The store is nice and clean but not a lot product on the shelf. We tried the sign in and check out by registering our card. Didn’t buy anything not my kind of store. Worth a trip to check it out.

I loved my experience. I love that they have hot foods (including Indian food), hot soups, and a salad bar just like Whole Foods but less expensive!!! Great soup selection! Lots of choices! I will eventually try them all this winter. I just wish they sold cornbread.

This store literally sucks now I see why it's empty all the time employees are not even trained right and are very unprofessional. And most times I have gone here there always sold out on the main items I come for I don't anticipate this location surviving with in the next ten years when they have so many upscale stores in Pasadena.

Went for the Grand reopening. I enjoyed the sales, the employees are very helpful. Lots of Amazon buys for groceries. I like the option to return Amazon purchases. It can get a little crowded in the narrow isles. The meat is always good quality as well as the fresh veggies. Initially went on opening day but I have gone back a few times and its not as crowded anymore. I enjoy the 10% off for Prime Members

This review is for the Amazon return section of the store.I thought that since this is official Amazon establishment that returning my Amazon items would be easy. But I'm having issues returning my amazon order at this location. I'm not saying the employees are stealing items or scamming me... but twice I've returned things here and I have not gotten back my refund. I usually get my refund on returns fairly quickly when I drop off at UPS/Kohls/Whole Foods.I contacted Amazon customer service about this and they told me they had trouble getting my tracking number.. very suspicious..Another proof is that on one of the return days, I brought in two items to return and only one of them had a complete refund process. Now that I think about it, they never give me a confirmation tracking number or receipt.I say if it looks valuable or if it's jewelry (which my items were) do yourself the courtesy and conceal it's contents.. I'm now sitting on two items that are still pending refund. Return at your own risk.

Very convenient for pick up and return Amazon stuff. The market is nice and clean, carrying lots of variety of produce, cooked foods, wines, and the most amazing part is the shopping cart has its own scanner for customers to check the price and vegetable weight.

Amazon Fresh in Pasadena, scores big points with me as a motorcycle driver, their parking aisles point towards the super large store windows making it easy to take a peek every now and then to make sure no one is messing with your vehicle. I'll be coming here a lot, when I'm in the area. Poor motorcycle parking was why I stopped shopping at Target and other marketplaces in the area.As for the selection of products in the store, it seemed a little limited, but Amazon Fresh online is limited, so it makes sense. Some of the prices were on the high side compared to other marketplaces in the area for specific products, some were higher than Amazon Fresh online prices with delivery. I think they'll work their prices out compared to the local options as they acclimate to the city.I picked up some staple foods and found the quality and prices competitive for a 3 pound bag of Gala Apples, a 2 LB bag of baby carrots and a gallon of milk. In fact their milk prices were better than the local 99 Cents Only store near Pasadena City College. They have all the kinds of foods you might find at other grocery stores, including frozen foods and even things like lights and batteries. I picked up a pack of 9Volt batteries for our smoke alarms.Amazon Fresh Pasadena also carries their wonderful Amazon Branded Products like Ranch Dressing and Sour Cream at competitive prices, but their Cream Cheese Prices were higher than what I usually see from them online. They have a deli and live food service area and the food smelled wonderful, it was very busy during this first visit. However, some of the hot food dishes in the center area set out like a buffet, looked like they had probably been sitting most of the day, it didn't look very fresh to me. If I were to get some hot food to go, I'd probably just go up to their counter.Things Amazon Fresh Pasadena can improve on.1. The pantry and dry product aisles are on the narrow side. While wide enough for two shopping carts to pass, it was still a bit of a tight squeeze. They could easily add a few more inches to these aisles by removing a few inches from the massively wide food area.2. While the concept of Amazon Fresh is to be able to walk in and walk out with out having to go through a checkout line or self check out line, their three or four check outs were really busy, and set a short distance from the checkout to the aisles. This was causing a lot of congestion for shoppers who were walking across the store, since at least during this visit, those in line were not moving out of the way.3. They could use some additional signage explaining how the process works, there really isn't any. You walk in and there are two hand scanning devices with a LCD display and a card reader. There is also a similar scanning device at the two gates to enter the shopping area, but not enough details for the less tech savvy, and a bit intimidating looking at first glance. A graphic showing how the devices work would be great.A few answers to questions you might have.A. While you do not have to have a smart phone and Amazon App to enter, you do have to have a credit card associated with your Amazon account. If you do not have the App, just slide your credit card into the card reader at the gate. It will show you any Amazon accounts associated with that card. Press the account name on the LCD and the gate will open letting you in.B. The store has Amazon Guest Free Wifi, so if you do not have a cell plan, you can still connect via their Wifi.C. If you are using the App, register it on the weird looking scanning device, shop, and then just leave the store.D. If you are only using your registered Credit Card, then when you are ready to leave, get in line for a cashier. You can pay the Cashier with cash, credit card, or SNAP/EBT Card.I had one employee ask me if I needed any help in the produce sections, which was nice.My cashier was awesome, super friendly and helpful, since I was splitting my purchases between two different payment methods.Over all It was a good experience.

Great shopping experience here with this new store. From the moment you scanned in, it was a brand new way of shopping.Everything seemed to be very fresh and neatly arranged. All sections were clearly marked with no hassle. And Alexa is always there to help should you have a question.Amazon fresh also extended Whole Foods concepts of salad bar and cooked meals for pickup. I noticed there were a freshly baked pizza and in-store made sushi sections.checking out is even easier. Just need to scan the Amazon APP, no need to scan the individual items.Prices of the produces are about the same as vins and other grocery stores. But the sandwiches seemed to be on the pricey side as a grilled cheese would set you back almost $7.Despite lack of price as aran ge, the shopping experience would win over many customers.

Ok. Fun if you have kids. Horrible experience overall. The “smart cart” checked us out when we were showing the guy our id for the beer we wanted to purchase so we had to go through the register… traditional style and scan everything again! Omg it’s so much better just to avoid the time, hassle and order online!

My first experience shopping there. Lots of great sales. special savings if you're a prime member. Lots of extra great savings through the add and an extra coupon. Easy check out, no lines And if you need assistance to explain everything there were people there to help you. There were multiple ways to check out. Such a breeze. Better deals than in the regular grocery store or any of the other comparable places to shop like Walmart or Smart & final or any of the other discount stores. I will definitely be back. It was an enjoyable experience believe it or not. Super clean store! 😁

What can I say is amazon. The workers make this place an enjoyable experience. Whoever did the hiring here knew what they were doing. Every single person I deal with is always happy to help and never has anyone ever seemed as if I was bothering them when I asked a question.I don't know her name because I didn't want to stare at her but when I shop and checkout she is always pleasant makes sure I use my coupons and always offers me the best combinations to use to get the biggest discounts. Who does that? Thank you i will get your name and formally address you with a follow up post. But a big thank you to you. Keep up the good work.

I came here when they first opened and it was a pretty novel experience. You walk in, Jeff Bezos watches you with his cameras and when you're done he tallies up your total and sends you a bill. Simple walk in, walk out. It's entertaining! Now it's a regular grocery store where you wait in like like a fool watching the single checkout clerk to putt through the line at a leisurely pace. The singular reason to come here is gone and now it's an inadequately stocked and overpriced grocery store one-off.If I wanted groceries I'd go to Vons or Costco or whatever. The only reason for this place to exist is the novelty and with that gone it barely pulls a 1 star out of 5>:(

I've seen and read majority of the reviews. Many people don't seem to get that this store is a competitive with Ralph's, Vons, Smart & Final, Aldi, or any middle class grocery. I say it as it is because you won't see middle class shopping at Food 4 Less despite it being the younger sister store of Ralph's, same items you can find but Ralph's tends to up a bit more. Before I digress any further, The prices here seen reasonable, compared to the middle class grocery stores, it's good. Great selection if not a lot more options especially those who are looking into Alternatives Plant based items in the frozen isle. Yes there are cameras, most people here are those who "buy an apple product" because of the logo and brand, don't know any technical stuff besides the "camera". Get offensive if you are because I mean it, the camera are to track the movement, data of how each item is gathered and track, it's no secret when they put the AD for their "Amazon Go" a few years back. Yes they will sell the data and stuff to other companies, but they already do with your phone, you not reading terms/agreements when signing up for your subscriptions. The store is great, it's new so it looks amazing. Great staff, there are some low items, on the Thursday early afternoon when I went. Stop comparing it to Whole Foods, Publix, Trader Joe's, Sprouts or those middle to high class stores because you won't find that there. If there's any issues with the transactions while doing the self check out, you can always talk to customer service or if not, go wait at the check stand with cashier's for your immediate receipt & not waiting 4 hrs or so for the email. I'm a prime member so this benefits those who want deals as well, you can always check what items they have, make a list, or see deals. Would I shop here instead of Ralph's where I do my shopping, yes I would. Despite having the Ralph's card to save money on certain items, Amazon Fresh does the same just on moblie and more tech. This is the future, I welcome it with open arms and hope to see what the future holds for Fresh. (-1 for low items but will come back in the near future to update my rating and keep review the same).

The idea of checking out your items in the cart is good, you can bag your groceries easier and no need to wait in the line. But the tablets on the shipping cart keep frozen and the scanner doesn't work every time. So we end up using self checkout.

Good selections with affordable prices. The store usually gives out paper coupons when going into the store.I hope I can see what the coupons will be BEFORE visiting the store.Because without the coupon, it is little pricier than usual grocery store I go to.
