It's a great place to stay. We have made this a yearly trip with a local church camp. This year marked our second trip, and if the church goes next year, I am sure we will go again. We have stayed in our travel trailer both years. There are no hookups, but there are plenty of RV spots. We have seen 3 of the cabins that family / friends have stayed in, and they are adequate. Do note that they are older.

We had a bad stay here. The main issue was the very cold room. No heat, no blankets, not a good isolation from the exterior. We were very uncomfortable.The lack of Wi-Fi and cell phone service made everything more difficult. All that combined with poor noise isolation and moths sneaking into the room at night.I cannot recommend it.Edit after business response: I only had the upstairs room, no glamping. The inclusion of blankets and heat is simply not true. The heater did not work, and the bed sheets were thin.I appreciate the offer to be contacted by phone, but as I said, there was zero cell service and no Wi-Fi. That was not possible.

Stayed on the ranch late winter and was treated like a king. In addition to a rare, old fashioned kind of hospitality I received, Jason helped me out in a lot of ways, including pulling me out of the snow when my truck got stuck on the side of the road. That's how I met him, actually, even before deciding to stay at his ranch. Trust me, you'll feel like there's hope again in this world after meeting Jason and staying with him and his excellent family's ranch!

The new owners are so friendly and kind! We stayed one night and the cabins were clean and warm. Fun lawn games to play after a long day of fishing! And when we realized we’d run out of toothpaste after the store had closed, the owners came out of their house and gave a us a travel tube. The place is family run and every member we met was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Stay here if you want a great upgrade from camping with easy access to Hat Creek and Lassen National Park!

We stayed in a cabin here and the place is awesome!!! All cabins have their own BBQ and picnic tables. There is a pond that has fish in it that kept the kids entertained and it is filled with the water of a small creek that goes around the property. Everyone is extremely friendly and the store has almost anything you might need..it came in handy more than a few times as we had forgot a few things. We stayed in cabin #12 and our family stayed in the Big Ugly and we will be making this an annual trip. The cabins are rustic but have everything you need for a comfortable stay! It was also funny watching people try to get cell service!!

Excellent! My husband and I were there for our 9th anniversary and we had a great time. The cabins are rustic so anybody not fully aware of what rustic means look it up. I loved the old slat doors. No tv, radio, microwave or air conditioning, but there is heat and a fan. Bedding, linens and the bare essentials for cooking are provided. Fridge is good size and bed was very comfy. Things to do and play on or in is awesome for kids and fishing spots are great and close. The owner was very nice and the place was clean. The only suggestion we have is to re-wash or really check the kitchen items. The people before us didn't let the plates dry so there was mold between the plates in the cupboard.

Very nice people. Just not enough trees at the play or camp site. Could do with shade for mornings so we don't have to get heated out of the tent before we want to wake up. Also seemed like a family owned and family used type of place. While everyone was nice, it seemed like everyone knew everyone which made us feel sort of like strangers in the area. The couple staying at the campsite for tents in an RV were very classy people.

Love the open space and sound of babbling brook located in front of cabin 2. It was quite relaxing. We could see our son as he entertained himself outside with the various lawn games. Nights were starlit that I wish I had glass ceilings. Cabin had the basic necessities to make it comfortable after an active day - heat, water, electric, bedding and towels. Was a bit disappointed that the cabins were located along the main road. However, that did not affect our sleep. Definitely the place to stay while you explore Lassen Park!

If you’re looking for a great spot to pitch your tent or vehicle camp, like I was, you can’t go wrong at Gordan’s! I appreciated the well kept grassy area where I spent several nights along with the convenient porta-potty’s just a short walk away. A well stocked store has most anything you may need without the hassle of having to drive into town. The owners and staff are great too... made me feel very welcomed. I was able to tour one of the quaint cottages that was a cozy little gem with a clear water brook running right nearby along with wildflowers lining the banks! A big thumbs up to this resort/campground!

Our family had a great stay in Cabin #6 (a.k.a. "Big Ugly") while visiting Lassen National Park! We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the great hospitality of the new owners, and could sense their passion for making these rustic cabins a pleasant home away from home for their visitors. Big Ugly is rustic, but had all the basics we needed. There's a nice fridge in the kitchen, plus a big table for meals together inside, or picnic tables for outside. Sheets and mattresses were clean (beds had no pillows or other bedding, which we didn't know about ahead of time, but the owners made sure we all got a pillow and blanket). There's a delightful pond and a field with fun lawn games, and plenty of bird and chipmunk watching opportunities. There was some highway noise but not at all bad at night. A nice little store on the property helps to assure you don't lack any essentials, and there is fishing gear available for sale as well. We would stay again, and wish the new owners all the best!

If you're looking for a place to feel like home when you're out adventuring, Rim Rock Ranch IS the place to do it!!!! I just had my wedding there and was so in love with the place!!!! The ground are absolutely GORGEOUS and will work with ANY bride's color choices. One thing my wedding guests and I loved the most is the play area and games available for kids and adults!!!! They even have night time movies outside!!!!!The cabins all feel like home. We stayed in Log Cabin A and for the whole weekend I couldn't call it cabin, it was home!The Gordon family is amongst the nicest I have ever met! They helped make my wedding day special!!! I wish I could 10 stars! I will be back soon!!

This place was great!! Me and the wife live in redding and always pass this place on our way to Reno, we have stopped for snacks before but was always interested in staying here and fishing Hat Creek. We made a reservation (celebrating my birthday & anniversary) we arrived late (7:30) But Rand the bell and where treated with a large smile and a great conversation! We even got some fishing tips and were told we will definitely catch some trout and sure enough with the tips we did!! Thank you guys so much for the great stay wish we stayed another night but we will in the near future. Oh and thanks again for the complimentary bottle of birthday wine :)

This place is fabulous and a real California gem. I just returned to Hat Creek after over thirty years. The new owners Jason and Nycole Gordon are fantastic and will take Rim Rock Ranch to a new level. The fishing was absolutely outstanding in the creek with its clear spring waters. I highly recommend Gordon’s Rim Rock Ranch. My 10 year old Labrador loved it too.

Great place to camp if you’re visiting Lassen or in the area. Affordable campsites and there are outhouses with hand soap and sinks to wash your hands which I appreciated in light of COVID. Jason, one of the owners, (the property is family run) came over to introduce himself and chat for a few minutes. There’s a little store onsite and a gas station is next door. Each site is equipped with a campfire ring, table and grill. I would stay again. It’s right off the highway I didn’t hear any noise as there isn’t alot of traffic. You are within closer quarters of others (cabins, RVs, pop ups, tents, so take that into account when planning your visit depending on the type of camper you are). Thanks for a nice stay!

Exceptionally nice and friendly staff ....Unfortunately they cannot make up for the significant deficiencies in the quality of the cabin or cabins.Decades of deferred maintenance, dry rot , mildew smells, uneven rolling floors, significant 2 and 1/2 to 3 inch gaps between door and door frame allow all forms of bugs and insects into the cabin 24/7.. there are significantly better options in the area, especially for the prices being charged....

Just got home from a 3 day stay at Rim Rock Ranch (#6 Cabin) that is under new amazing owners!!!! Jason and Nicole are very accomodating and have done an amazing job revamping the place. The cabins were fully furnished and stocked with everything a house needs and very clean. I felt like we were home. We just booked another 4 day stay and will make this our #1 go to spot every year!! Thank you Jason and Nicole for the amazing trip and Congradulations on the new journey!!!!

Cute little stop. Met the owners mother and she was kind to help me find what I needed. Cute outdoor seating area and a library where you honor their system of take one leave one. Few selected items from groceries, camping, fishing, ice, firewood, tobacco, toiletries, kitchen items. Just ask and she will be glad to help.

Overall a good experience and trip. This place is just like I first remember it. Rustic but nice. The folks that work there are nice and cared about their visitors. They asked several times if there was anything we needed. Good customer service. The store was well stocked. Better than the previous owners.

Hello. I am one of the previous owners...before Mr. Extreme, and had the business for 14 years. We are all very sorry for the way you may have been treated by the Extreme team, and for the poor condition of the cabins. The new owners, Jason and Nykole, are very family oriented, friendly, and very excited to get the property back to the way it "used to be". The sheets were dirty when we went to bed the first night. The walls were dirty. The screen door wouldn't shut unless you locked it. We bought lettuce in the store that was rotten. Nobody else was at the resort. The resort down the road was packed. The bathroom sink was plugged the carpet and floors were filthy. The front door mat was filthy. The couch was broken and filthy. The coffee table was broken. Must I go on ???

Nice little joint. I needed to use a restroom and get an energy drink. They not only took care of both of those needs but they also had 22 oz. Fall River Brewing Co. beers that helped me reach the $10 credit card limit.
