We’re visiting from out of town and stopped here to pick up a few things for dinner. When we went to cook them we discovered the pasta they sold us had expired 5 months ago, and the package of hot dogs over a month ago. Pretty disappointing. Overall this seems like a liquor store that sells a very limited selection of groceries on the side rather than a market. If buying food there, proceed with caution and check the expiration dates before you check out.

It's fun to walk outside of the front and see the farmers market going strong. The ambitious people grow and live eachother. Also peeked in the window. Everything was in order and it's the Best street in town!

Bonanza is a full service general store. the only one in nevada city. basic meds. full liquor cabinet. wine. full beer fridge. they also have some decent food options, Amy's pizza, huge wine rack. also a very friendly staff.

Bonanza Market is another great locally owned establishment in the Nevada County Nevada City area my wife and I have been going into this market for over 20 years no multiple people who have worked there including my wife great little market right in the center of downtown Nevada City go meet the people talk have a good time

If I could give no stars I would. I used to tolerate this place because of their selection, but most of their cashiers have been very rude, I always wanted to get out of there quickly. Recently I asked a few questions about a bourbon I wanted to buy, and the guy was so patronizing I just left mid “conversation,” put the bottle back on the shelf, and left. The Bottle Shop across from the B&C shopping area in Grass Valley is where I go now. They are always friendly, and willing to answer questions or respectfully tell me that they don’t know. The owners of this place don’t seem to want to build a relationship with the community at all.

I have shopped here out of convenience and do appreciate what they have to offer. Although I bought some ice cream and had been meaning to let them know it was bad and when I had the time to let them know about the issue they said they could not refund me. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here so I’m disappointed.

Younger people may not know it, but this is one of the original Purity supermarket buildings that were widespread in California until the 1960s. They all had the same design with arches and a rounded roof.

Country music playing and the place has the feel of an old country general store. Many of the adjacent buildings, maybe this one too, date back to the gold rush.Service was fine. Sad to have two homeless people panhandling outside the door but we have seen the same issue 10 times worse in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Rude people!! Don’t shop here. Boycott this store. They sell defective vape cartridges near the register that don’t work after a few puffs and taste like burning fire. They refused to refund my money. THIEVES!!

Often the cashier is on the phone and while waiting on customers.The costomer survice suffers. This is not true with all of the employees.Today I purchaced something and I was accused of not stating what I wanted apperntly to the cashier and he accused me of not speaking proberly. Really, If he had not been focucing on thre phone call he would have understood. Recently, I spent quite a bit of money here, and this has happened several times. The locstion is convient for me and in the futureI will not retlurn. I rarely write reviews but I have had it withthe service here and will not return. It is no wondrer that more and more folks are buying goods online.
