Awesome as always, it is located in a town and country style commercial setting with liberal parking and overlooks the Orinda scenic mountains!

Long lines.Slow deli.Lack of stock.Since they switched to Boar's Head, the deli is super slow. Avoid it if you can. Trader Joe's in Lafayette is a good alternative. 10 minutes to get anything here.Revising this to one star. This is the slowest deli in the Bay area. And they haven't figured out how to schedule shifts and manage lines. I wish there was another grocery store in Moraga. Spending Saturday in the Safeway line is not pleasant.

Their mini cucumbers were slimy and rotten inside. Seems they DO NOT remove them from shelves in a timely manner. This was a delivery. Called their customer service, they said bring them and we will replace!!! These cucumbers should not be on their produce shelves in the first place.

Would give 2.5 stars if I could. I am a teen that lives near and I often go here after school to buy snacks. A few weeks ago, they removed all of the tables that were outside and it is now much more inconvenient. I have no idea why this was done, the tables made me enjoy this store much more. I've started going to a different store even though it's father away purely because it is more convenient if I need to sit down and eat.

Clean and organized. All shelves are fully stocked. Fresh produce. Kind customer service. Also a clean Safeway. A bit of a strange layout, in my opinion.

This is my favorite Safeway. The staff is an asset to this location.I feel homesick at other Safeways now.And they have the best fried chicken!

I love the staff at this Safeway branch. They are so helpful and friendly. Moraga has excellent employees. I hope it remains that way.

This has been our go to local store for 30 years. Hardworking and friendly staff let down badly by corporate greed. They drove out all the competition decades ago and act like the monopoly they became. Produce goes off quickly, long lines at the checkout, and a hilariously I'll conceived self checkout. We desperately need a Trader Joes!

Nice selection of fresh prepared food + all the usual groceries.Fairly heavy on the "standing mid aisle and too self absorbed to make space for others" but, well, Orinda.

Nice enough store and recently well stocked as a grocery store. But my biggest complaint is the checkout process. I've never seen this place without The checkout lines being at least five people deep. And they only have two checkout lines open.

This has got to be the best Safeway in Moraga, California. They have a very friendly and courteous staff. I wish the Safeway in my neighborhood have the same outstanding service, but after a changed in management, the service rating went from a 5 to 2.

Went in at 4pm on a Saturday to get a sandwich from the deli counter and it was “closed” because there are only two people working that department at the time. There was no one waiting to be served.

This is great. They are open 24 hours (huge plus!) and the people who work there are friendlier and generally more capable than the average grocery store employee. The deli is very good. Prices are a bit high for produce but this is an expensive area. There is ample outdoor seating to enjoy your sandwiches. Very nice, safe area with low crime.HOWEVER, one star off because they won't put in bicycle parking!

Everyone has a different experience at the grocery store. Some of us go to get in and get out. Some meander and socialize. We all just want it to be a smooth experience. I've always liked the Moraga safeway more than the Lafayette Safeway. Friendly checkers and well stocked shelves and plenty of parking. What more can you ask for?

Safeway in general usually has pretty bad customer service, so I usually go through the self check out. Why would I want to interact with a cashier who dreads my existence? This time, I was accosted by an employee at the self check out because she thought I had too many groceries for the self check out, even though it isn't 15 items or less, and my cart wasn't even full of groceries. I said I would rather do it my self, and she tried to grab my cart and bring it to the check stand. I insisted and she said "Geez louise," and proceeded to stare at me the entire time I rung up my groceries. I felt very harassed by her, and this isn't the first time I have felt that way by a Safeway employee

Nice store. Fully stocked. Well organized. Reasonable pricing. Has a Mechanic's Bank branch inside the store and a Glacier Water refill station outside the store. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Absolutely horrible store! No mask greeting by a clerk asking for ID? No mask!? Have you paid any attention at all to covid? These people are sick..most likely literally. Yuck. This Safeway has been terrible for the 15 years I've lived in Moraga. I only go when absolutely necessary. Never ever again! Wish I could give a negative rating!

The Safeway is beautiful inside! Great selection of grocery items. Downside, there is always a line of people at the register! There are 9 registers, and only two are manned on avg at any given time. All the staff are unfriendly at the register as well.

Nice Safeway store. Not to crowded and easy check out. Friendly deli people and cashiers. Employees very friendly and efficient.

Service could be a lot better and faster. Checkout is slow and on several occasions the cashier seemed more interested in chatting with people they knew than paying attention to the current customer.

I've been a resident in Lamorida for over 20 years now. Competition is stiff for grocery stores in this area. Three Safeways, Diablo Foods, Lunardi, Trader Joe and Whole Foods. What makes one store fail yet another survive is simply service. I had very low expectations for grocery stores as long as what I'm looking for is available. However, everything changed after I suffered a stroke in 2017.Handicap parking spots, helpful staff, and even how assessible the plastic bags rolls are became important factors.I employ a friend who takes me out grocery shopping twice a week for food, fresh flowers and other life necessities that one cannot order from Amazon. This morning started out great. We arrived Moraga Safeway just when fresh flowers were restocked. In the $5.99 bucket, flowers in an explosion of colors were filled to the rim. My driver and I spent about 20 mins choosing the right bouquet for us to stare at all week. Flowers makes or break a day, especially for someone who stays home all day (me,) and a busy mom of 3(friend.) At the seafood section, there were frozen shrimp for sale at $8.99. Igrabbed one, too. Imagine my shock when veggies for the week and snacks came out to be $150 total at check out. During lunch in a nearby Thai restaurant,we. realized the computer charged me $25.98 for the flowers and $21.98 for the shrimps. Another trip as a disabled, slow person down to the Safeway got me my refund... after 20 mins wait for a parking spot the 2nd time and waiting in line, again, for customer service. So, 2 hours wasted, no apology, no coupons, no offer to lower the prices of the bouquets or shrimps that they labeled wrong. The most important thing for me: No flowers for my desk where I create and read, pretending life is normal after my stroke.Don't shop here. Terrible management and computer system. Go elsewhere.

Went there to use there WesternUnion like I always.Everyone else in there staff is friendly and respectful but this women called Jennifer claiming that she is the Manager does not seems like or act like at all.Being very disrespectful and very sarcastic, rude as well.Hope someone from the administration look into it and trained her better so that she could be little more polite and does not waste people’s valuable time..Thanks

-great bagel and donut selection, especially if you buy in the morning when they're extra fresh!-lines can be unbearably long during what I like to call rush hour (5pm on a weekday? avoid it)-this particular safeway location could expand its la croix selection, lafayette's is usually better-also you'll have to ring a bell if you come at like 2am-good parking!-friendly staff

New to area, so may be a 4 star.Clean and organized, parking looks dated, may need a bit of paint on the lines.

Safeway is Safeway these days with the virus it SUCKS.I ware glasses and can't find a mask that doesn't fog them so I can't see half the time. And then there is the checkout lines. They seem slooower.I hate shopping more now then ever.Prices now are outrageous if you can find what you want.Other stores are cheaper but I have to think about gas through 3 cities.

As a senior I had a good experience. Sometimes things are out of stock which is part of being in Moraga. You need to stock Blue Bunny Load's Mint Chip Sundaes . Also need a step to reach food that is on top shelves.

My rating of 2 stars is because of the long checkout lines and lack of produce and products even before covid.I think it has to do with being the only game in town.

My go-to for normal grocery needs. They even have a nice mezcal in a green bottle that I buy from time to time. Staff is friendly if you are nice to them and not a stuck-up, snobby, self-important Moraga person :-)

Usually not crowded. No waiting on line to get in. Lines are typically not very long. Usually have everything we need in stock (TP and cleaning supplies limited, like most stores these days)

They are open 24/7, which is great, and the store doesn't get crowded being in a small town. Lines can get a little long sometimes and I think they are a somewhat expensive (although all Safeways are).
