Terrible, terrible pharmacy! I used to go out of my way to come here because the pharmacist Peter was so amazing and he always made sure that I was able to get my medications on time. The last two weeks, though, I have not been able to get any of my medication‘s at all. Peter is gone and apparently they are not filling certain medications anymore, but they did not notify me of this, and no, none of these are controlled substances. Some of them are very common generics. I received multiple different stories from people as to when my medications would be available, only to finally be told that they’re not going to order certain medications anymore because not enough people order them. This terrible customer service coupled with the fact there is no handicap parking and no drive-through, I’m switching all my prescriptions. I’m never setting foot it in the store again.

Worst Pharmacy Ever.Each time my prescription was provided by my dentist, they only came back with we don't have it, and had to wait for an additional hour.I tried to refill the prescription via their automated system, and got confirmation that it would be ready by 12:45pm. Showed up at 4pm to have them say they don't have it and that they would do their best to have it ready by closing time.There are a few people who are helpful, otherwise, be prepared to get the runaround.This will be the last time I send any prescriptions to this Walgreens.Update: This last prescription, I had to have my dentist physically call to get the prescription in. After going back and forth the entire day with them, I finally was able to confirm the prescription was there, and was told it would be ready in ten minutes. My husband goes to pick it up, and was told not for another HOUR.Now I won't be able to get my prescription filled for the entire weekend.COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

If i could give them zero stars i would… don’t rely on this store for your prescriptions at all. They have screwed up my prescription every month. Please take review into consideration if you want your prescription ready on time

Amazing service! The pharmacy and staff were so helpful and efficient. The staff member who helped me was polite and courteous. She took care of my needs as quickly as possible and did an excellent job communicating all the information I needed. This is after I visited 2 other pharmacies in the area that were not able to help me. Highly recommend this store to everyone!

Very convenient location, but it's completely meaningless if you "Close at 8:45 tonight" instead of 9:00. Several people outside were stunned and troubled. Not cool at all.

Scary place we had an appointment for a booster waited 40 minutes and finally left and went to CVS. They couldn't find any of our electronically submitted history. There is no way I'd let such disorganized people stick me with a booster God knows what I get...

I've had to call the pharmacy many times for different things but every time I can barely hear the associates. Maybe it's the store's phone or the associates may need to speak louder. If walgreens can see this review, please look into reparing the pharmacy phone. As a customer, be prepared to listen as best as you can. Overall it's a decent smaller basic drugstore.

Pharmacy has always been 4-5 stars overall, but they recently hired a tech I hadn’t seen before; Steven.He tried to give me less medication and was asking why I needed a month supply’s worth. I told him to please just give me what my doctor ordered. Then when my insurance approved the medication for partial coverage, Steven didn’t want to let me pay the remaining cost out of pocket.Totally unheard of… I’m a little disappointed how hard it was to get a routine medication. He’s a nice guy, but seems very confused.

I frequent this location and customer service has always been not good which normally I don't care about. But on this particular trip really just set me off to write this review. I was trying to pick up my prescription in the Pharmacy and the person that helped me was really no help. He just gave me close ended answers and I had to keep asking "ok, what do I have to do then" so many times. Seriously did not offfer any help at all and just wanted me to leave. I wouldn't recommend this Pharmacy at all.

Slightly exceeded expectations. Convenient downtown location. That had what I needed. Service was relatively friendly. Employees complying with Covid 19 safety standards. Stopped here twice during my two-day stay in Monterey.

Worst pharmacy ever. Waited in line for 30 minutes for a vaccine that I had an appointment for. Then waited another 40 minutes for the actual shot that I had an appointment for. Every person in line waited at least 20 minutes. It was ridiculous. Never coming back again

The lady cashier with a ring in her nose really had an issue with Asian people, she was talking very happily with a father and his daughter, big smile, but when it was our turn, she put up the most unpleasant face and voice. I'll never go there again.

Good service and selection for a small store downtown. They also surprisingly sell cigarettes which most pharmacies do not do anymote. Given there's nowhere else in the vicinity to buy tobacco after 8pm, it's pretty convenient despite the fact that I'm sure many people are horribly offended by this decision.

Incredibly long wait for prescriptions. Almost 40 mins to pickup even with an express pickup.What’s the point of having the option for express pickup if it’s not being utilized?

I went to Walgreens to get a product but I received so much more!!!Javier (found out he manages, helps with the pharmacy, floor customer service, too) came to assist. He was so nice, kind, helpful and knew his stuff!I appreciate sincerity: we see this world disconnecting from what is right.Receiving guidance takes less time. All employees were kind and helpful. This has been my experience with Javier and staff each time I have visited Walgreens on Alvarado. Whoever is in charge is so blessed to have employees like these. Good cast out, brings good back, it's that simple! Let me add that Peter Koinage, in the pharmacy, is also so very kind and helpful (as his staff). What a score! These thieves will steal your money! Do not buy phone cards or e-gift here, they are not trustworthy. And the overweight women who are assistant managers have really ugly attitudes. There is nothing this store does that Safeway does’t do better, don’t even go there.

The pharmacy will tell you they have the "tetanus only" (Td, tetanus diphtheria) vaccine then give you the Tdap. They will tell you that you don't need an appointment and to come on down anytime, neglecting to mention that they close for lunch at an unposted time. When they finally get back, they will let pharmacy students watch you get your vaccine right there at the counter without even asking if you mind (which I admittedly wouldn't have cared about if they'd just asked, especially if I hadn't just waited 40 minutes and gotten the wrong vaccine). One star for unapologetically poor communication.

Second time this has happened. I use Google pay and the cashier doesn't understand or the system is broken. Requiring people to have to touch a POS unit in a pandemic is unacceptable. Boycott unsafe, stores like this one who is profiteering off people sickness.
