We bring Maggie & Murphy here regularly for grooming. Today Julie was their groomer and she did a great job. We were also able to pay & tip in advance so we could have a family member pick them up for us that day. Petco isn’t the fanciest grooming salon in town, but they get the job done.

My dog looked fine but after I paid the groomer asked about the lump on his chest. I said the vet said it’s a ferry tumor and there was no need to anything. The groomer said to bring a note from the vet that it was alright to groom him. He’s a maltipoo and has been groomed met then 1,000 times in his nine years including Petco. I’m not going to pay a vet bill just to have a Petco employee groom him. I will NOT be back. very poor customer service. If I knew her name Ud provide it she’s not good for your business.

Love this place! And so does my Junie. He’s always excited to come here and I’m happy to bring him since they always make him feel special and they pay attention to what I want them to do. They always confirm his appts and Dori/Arnold have great customer service.

I added a review 1.5.2023 oddly it was never added. Like others have mentioned, be prepared to have your grooming appointment canceled. Others were fortunate to receive a call I wasn't fortunate any of the 3 times. The staff has a "do not care" attitude which is probably the same toward your furry family member. We have this given this "salon" many opportunities and discussed issues with the manager. Never again.

Don’t go to Petco Grooming in Monterey, CA. They have an incompetent groomer!! Terrible lady who doesn’t know what she’s doing.

I really hate to write bad reviews, but this one is necessary. I first scheduled an appointment for my small dog to come in for a full grooming and flea treatment (she was suffering from a bad infestation/allergic reaction) on 2/13. The day of her scheduled appointment, just a few hours beforehand, they rescheduled her without consulting me to a different date 2/17. I called and they said that a groomer was out sick so they had to reschedule, I agreed to that time/date. On 2/17, I received a call that one of the groomers was overbooked and needed to reschedule her appointment to a different date. We rescheduled to 2/18. Unfortunately, the day that we rescheduled to, my dog was in heat, and could not be groomed (no fault of theirs, but they were kind enough to offer me a complimentary service for her to come back when her cycle was over and I purchased some flea medication to help with her infestation that day as well). Finally, she was done with her cycle and I scheduled her for another appointment on 3/23 and without fail, it was rescheduled again, just a few hours before, for the same reasons— a groomer was overbooked/out sick. I gave it one final shot. I had an appointment scheduled today 3/25 at 3pm and—three hours before—just received a call to reschedule because two groomers were out sick. Unacceptable. I would not recommend bringing your pet here unless you want to constantly be canceled/rescheduled on. My poor dog has been tangled and matted this whole time, waiting to get groomed. Upsetting.

All the groomers are great with the dogs. Everyone in the store is friendly and helpful. The groomers do a great job trimming my dogs claws. I recently got the mini-makeover deal and it wasn't really worth the extra money. The groomer spent less than a minute brushing my dogs teeth and cleaning her ears.

Good service, but not enough information on what happened while you were gone for the true dog parent. I paid $15 extra for nail grinding, but her nails were square (indicating clip only). Inspect your dog before leaving.

Rude customer service... the main reason I took my new puppy in was to have his nails trimmed and they didn't even trim his dew claws... now im left to do it which im not comfortable doing since his nails are black... do not go here!!!!!!
