I came out here with a surf board and wet suit rentals from On The Beach Surf Shop in an attempt to catch my first wave. The beach is beautiful and clean. The waves are pretty nice for beginners and first-timers.

Solid supply of surf, skate and snow gear. Knowledgable staff, great collection of old surfboards to look at. This is a must see surf shop if you are in the area. Also a complete rental shop of surf and snow gear. They can send you in the direction of surf, stand up paddle or snowboard lessons if you need. A full service shop.

What a great one-stop surf shop. Kelly and his crew will dial you in to all things surf related. Their stock of boards, wetsuits etc is incredible. My wife was also amazed at the clothes selection. Kelly is welcoming, helpful, and able to assist in surfing and hiking locations to make the most of Monterey and surrounding area.

I've bought shirts from here Everytime I come to Monterey once or twice a year for the last 10 years. The sizes are no longer the same for Santa Cruz shirts. The large feels like a medium, coming all the way from Sacramento I'm heartbroken.... why did this happen :( such a cool, unique design and I can't wear it now.

We visit On The Beach every time we come to Monterey. The staff is super friendly, helpful and really know their stuff when it comes to skating, surfing, everything. Kelly, the owner always takes the time to talk to us too. If your in the area and your looking to buy or rent some stuff, visit them!!!!!

Came in to rent just as they opened up for the morning, they were very helpful, efficient and kind. Even gave us some good tips on where to surf that day! Our phones were unfortunately stolen while we were surfing, but the help from the surf shop employees as well as very helpful directions to the police department helped us to find our phones again!

We only get to the coast once or twice a year. (We live in Indiana) Josh behind the rental counter helped me and my 2 girls get fitted for wetsuits and body boards. Soft top sutf boards a great for old guys trying to re-live there youth. Everyone was friendly, and it didn’t break the bank for us to grab some shirts and hoodies on the way out. They helped make our day in the beach super fun. Thank you.

Highly recommend. I rented a wet suit on a weekend at the last minute, they provided a very good quality clean suit and the pricing is great as well.I ended up arriving almost 4hrs late and yet they didn't charge me for the late arrival, they had a 4hr rental option as well and yet they did not charge me even on insisting. The staff was considerate and very polite which is rare nowadays...I'd go back again for sure.

So I called in the morning and explained we are in from Huntington Beach and our original plans had fallen through. My husband is an avid surfer but we did not bring a surf board this time. Clint was so helpful on the phone. I told him my husband likes to go early but they don’t open until 10. Clint offered us a 24 hour rental and told me to come close to closing, when we showed up Clint was there to help us. Got my husband a board and wetsuit. Even with my husband running around the store like a giddy child we where in and out in less then 30 minutes. Clint even went above and beyond by helping my husband get the rack and surf board on the car as well as tell us a killer surf spot to go to. The price was great, the service was excellent, and we will definitely be back probably to buy a new surf board. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!! HangTen

Awsome service! Very friendly and welcoming. The store is beautiful, they have a new fish tank and tons of old school boards to admire. Great prices too, and they cut you some slack if you are a bit late returning the board. The guys in there are so sound, they told me where to find the best breaks and sand banks.

Friendly and helpful staff. I rented a surfboard and received advice about possible surf breaks during the week. I paid for a week in advance but when the surf turned worse I decided to return the board a day earlier. I was very happy to receive one day rent back. Spoke with the owner too very friendly.

Rented wet suits for myself and the kids last week. Third time we've done so and every time the customer service has been amazing. Kelly and his employees are super friendly and helpful. Recommended where to take the kids boogie boarding for the first time on our first trip there. Fellow Fresnans that have seen the light and escaped the dog days of summer. You guys rock!

Super friendly and helpful! This was my family's first time on the central coast and this was the first rental place we found. The staff were SO friendly and helpful. They recommended a great beach, for us all outfitted with wetsuits, and gave us some other great tips about the area. We didn't do a lot of comparing of rental prices in the area, but On the Beach's prices were amazing compared to what we're used to paying in HB.Side note, if you have kids you're wanting to get a wet suit for. Check out their grow with me program, it's a fantastic deal and a great way to save money while still doing awesome things with your kiddos.

We came here to get some hoodies and shorts. We were delighted by the extensive selection of wears and the staff was great. They let us take our time in trying on different items and were not pushy in trying to make the sale. They have a great selection of spring and summer trunks to take to the beach.

I came here looking for a skateboard to cruise around on. OTB has a great selection of boards of all types, friendly employees, and a great atmosphere. After finding a board I liked and riding it for a few days, I noticed there was a large chip in one of the wide wheels. I brought it in and they replaced the wheels at no cost. Whether you are a beginner skater or surfer, or a seasoned rider, On the Beach is the place to go.

I went in to rent a suit for the day, great rental pricing. I love the energy in the store. Feels like visiting good friends. The staff is knowledgeable and can even point you in the right direction for some good surf if you're new to the area. Highly recommend stopping in!

I have been to Pacific Grove many times, but hadn't stopped at Kelly's sweet surf shop. I will be stopping there every visit from now on. What matters to me at any store is quality of products and knowledgeable staff. OTB has both dialed in. The helped my wife, kids and I get suits, shoes and booties for some fun at the beach. Great shop with an amazing selection of branded clothing plus their own range. Also offer many surf and skate hardware to suit all. The owner, Kelly, was really helpful to us Monterey newbies and gave us some very helpful tips for things to see and do locally. Highly recommended and located right on the corner of Lighthouse and Prescott.

Always feel welcomed when I visit the shop. Overall a great atmosphere with their very helpful workers. The shop itself is very clean and organized, easy to find exactly what you need. My favorite part is the decor forsure, makes me feel like I’m “on the beach” 🤙🏼
