“Our Nightmare before Christmas”Thanks to all the wonderful vet techs and Dr. A for their expert and tender care of our Stevie girl. She ate some rat poison and without hesitation we frantically tried to get her to their team asap. Thankfully they were able to see us right away and took such good care of her. Her outlook to make a full recovery is really high thanks to their fast work.

So far so good. Crowslanding one of my pets went in to be fixed, died, and came back and hasn’t been the same. Standiford has been professional and so far all animals are still meowing and barking!

This vet hospital is a 50/50 shot. You never know what to expect. From my experience, the vet techs and vets are really nice, and it's is a 24/7 emergency clinic which is positive especially when there aren't a lot of emergency pet hospitals in Modesto, but it is super pricey and they will charge for any little thing they can find and justify it. About a year ago I brought my bichon frise for a pre-op for a teeth removal surgery, and they ran him some blood tests. They vet came in and said that my dog had cancer and that he recommended starting my dog on cancer treatment (which costs thousands upon thousands of dollars) to extend his life for a short bit but that death was inevitable and could happen anytime soon. It was emotional turmoil those couple of days thinking your best friend was going to die, but something in me decided to get a second opinion, and I did! I went to another vet clinic in Turlock to have them run the same blood tests that this hospital did and his test results came out fine! This was about a year ago and my dog is still here with us strong and healthier as ever! Ever since then, I haven't been complied to want to return since that experience. No vet is perfect and there is always a possibility of misdiagnosing, but when you are paying thousands of dollars, something like this isn't acceptable. My word of advice is to use your intuition and get a second opinion in any scenario. The Vet field is definitely a booming financial business and will up charge a lot when they can. Unfortunately many places will take advantage of your emotional connection with pets, like is was for me in that instance. Just something for all of you to think about 🤔

I brought my baby, Mila, here as an emergency walk in after she'd become lethargic and had pretty much stopped eating. Staff saw to her immediately and took her in the back to assess the situation. Unfortunately, she was already on her way to the rainbow bridge due to a previously undiagnosed case of congestive heart failure.The vet on staff that night was amazing. She came in to speak with me and let me know what was happening and that Mila's chances were slim to none. She was straight forward with options while remaining extremely sympathetic to the situation. I was distraught, but she remained patient and understanding. We chose to euthanize to end Mila's suffering.While staff were prepping Mila to come spend a little time with me before meds were administered, she began to pass on her own. Staff came to the exam room immediately and led me to the back to be with her while she crossed over.The experience of losing my baby was horrific and heart breaking, but Standiford did all they could to make it as easy as possible on me. Thank you to all involved with my baby Mila's journey to the other side. I appreciate all of your efforts.With love,Lindsay and Milano

This place is amazing. Definitely our new 24-hour care center. They were able to discover exactly what was wrong with my dog while giving her plenty of medication for pain and discomfort. Definitely recommend!

Very dissatisfied,Had to take our cat to be put to sleep. $200 for one lethal shot. They couldn't even wrap him in a $5 blanket and put in a wooden box? They wrapped him in a towel I brought him in!!! Also they do not let you stay with your animal till the end, they only let you say goodbye. If you want your animal cremated it is another $260. Shameful!

The staff is friendly as long as your animals have a big price tag with it. I have been placed on hold for 30 minutes to an hour, and staff hung up the phone on me. I was on my way to Modesto, and the staff hung up the phone. I had to pull over on the FREEWAY TO CALL STAFF BACK! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! I understand my cat is very aggressive, and I am very stressed right now and I did get angry with them but don't want to be placed on hold only for staff to hang up the phone. I don't live in Modesto and wanted to make sure it is necessary before I make a long journey all the way up there. The vet technician refuses to answer my call. If my cat dies, then THIS PLACE MURDERED MY CAT! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ON HOW TO OPERATE A BUSINESS!UPDATE: My cat had a urinary blockage, and that was what he was brought in for. None of the staff caught it. THEY MISDIAGNOSED MY CAT IN THEIR CARE AND NEARLY KILLED HIM. THANK GOODNESS I DIDN'T BRING HIM BACK. PROBABLY WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE! THEY MADE MISTAKE WITH MINE AND NEARLY KILLED HIM! MY CAT WAS SURFFERING, AND THEY JUST MASKING HIS PAIN! WHAT A WASTE OF NEARLY $2,000 TO ALMOST HAVE MY CAT KILLED!

Took my dying and suffering cat to be put to sleep Sunday morning. The staff and doctors were amazing. Very caring. I was in and out within 30 minutes. I really appreciated them.

We were referred here by our vet because our dog was having some very concerning symptoms and he wouldn’t be able to be seen within the next few days. So we came in and waited for hoursss until they finally attended us to which they told us after “further blood tests and xrays” theyve determined my dog has cancer. We asked for a copy of the results that they didnt give us and my dog didnt have a shaved arm like they usually would when they draw blood which raised a suspicion that they didnt actually run any tests. The doctor then recommended euthanasia. We declined and he had this stank attitude because we didnt want to put him down on the spot. Anyways..we go home and the next morning we called again to see if the could prescribe him anything so he could be comfortable his last few days and they flat out said no that we would have to bring him in again for another check up.. mind you we had already paid a thousand for the “tests” in the previous appointment and the doctor wrote that we declined all treatments… not once were we asked if we wanted medication for him nor were we given another option other than putting him down….These people are solely focused on the money not about the actual wellness of the pet. Don’t let these people fool you and con you out of your money in a time of distress.

We took my Malinois in after he got attacked by another dog. They got him in quickly and took very good care of him. I was nervous to have him go back since I used to work in the veterinary field and this was the first time he went to the doctor without me with him every step of the way, but he was so good and they treated him with so much kindness. Hopefully we won’t need to utilize ER again, but if we do, we will be back! ❤️

Sketchy service's ..my first time here btw..Anyways I tried to bring my 6mnth old pup in because she had ugly diarrhea an she's up to date on parvo so I know it's not that, I thought she ate something that she wasn't supposed too so I wanted to get an xray right..so I try to bring her in to wait an there like na she might have parvo wait in the car witch is fine I know she doesn't..then right after they come out an say ok you can come in....so I did an when I got inside the "receptionists"or wtv said ok I'll take here back there so she can wait and get assessed by the "vet" .... I'm like uh no is there a room I can wait inside there with her.then they got mad because they couldn't run their parvo test.But I took her to stockton emergency an they knew exactly what it was from my description .My thing is why you try to take my dog in the back by herself ??when everybody waiting in th lobby with their cat or dog..my gut said something

The Staff at the front is rude. They have no problem talking and openly stating how they feel and their opinions on situations that should be conversations they have away from customers. Its absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. Maybe you shouldn't openly talk about people when you don't know their situation. If I were the owners I would be absolutely embarrassed.

My 6 month old baby boy Kitty was lethargic and felt warm. I called and they let me know the price of the visit. $110 before 6pm or $125 after 6pm. No big deal. They asked how old my cat was. I told them 6 months. They asked what was wrong, I told them. They made sure to tell me 3 times, the price of the visit. I specifically asked, "Is there ANYTHING else I need to know before I come out there?" The answer was no. I get out there, in the 90 degree heat. I take my baby up to the door. I had to ring a door bell and wait for someone to come to the door, only to be told I had to go to my car with my cat because of his age and fill out the paperwork. I was then told, when I complete the paperwork, bring my baby and the paperwork back to the door and they will take my baby back. Well, I filled out the paperwork, took my kitty back up to the door in the 90 degree heat and stood at the door again, waiting. The paperwork was taken and I was told it would be an 8 to 12 hour wait IN MY CAR. THEN I went to hand her my baby and she said, "No. Your cat needs to wait in the car to be assessed. That could take 8 hours. Hopefully 1 hour. But 8 to 12 for your cat to be seen." Unbelievable. Waste of time. I just left. They are great for some people, sure. But MY suggestion would be to GIVE MORE INFORMATION and don't make people ASK for specifics when you could save them time and POSSIBLY their baby's lives! Never again. I should've read the reviews first. I would've taken my boy to a place more adequate and competent instead of wasting his precious time. And please do not reply with your generic message. It doesn't mean anything. Just change the way you do things.

I was worried about my year old female calico cat. I got to the clinic a little after 8 AM and was taken right in. One of the girls came out and asked about the cat before I had a chance to finish the form. The Vet called me right away and explained my options. Luckily things turned out well. I am glad l went to the clinic instead of the regular Vet.

Besides the wait time, which is horrendous everywhere right now, this Emergency Clinic is wonderful. The staff is professional and very, very courteous. They understand that even though they may be wearing fur, feathers, hides or even shells that they are treating our “children” and treat them like such. Love this clinic.

At 12am I discovered one of my smaller dogs ate a bag of milk chocolate at around 11-11:30pm. Found a partial wrapper and a dog with chocolate breath. I called over to let them know and double check the toxicity for her weight, they advised I come in. I arrived there about 30minutes later. Maybe it was a slow night but I walked right in and they took my pup back to get started while I filled out paperwork. The whole process took about 45mins. Vet bills are never nice, emergency bills are extra bad but I was pleasantly surprised at the total. I had feared worse. Under $300 and in less than an hour we were back home.The waiting room was well lit, large, great seating, and very clean. And all the staff was really friendly.

Our vet referred us here to see what treatment plan our dog needed. They were supposed to receive the X-rays completed by our vet but they didn’t get them. The vet tech says “maybe they were emailed to us, let us check”. Vet comes in, says we need X-rays, checks her hips out then we get charged an $80 visit fee. It would be nice to reschedule if you didn’t get the X-rays. So now we have to get the X-rays and make another appointment.

Wonderful kind caring staff. It was hard to take our 13 yr old cat Simba in knowing he had to be put down. They showed him so much love and affection as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. They showed a great deal of compassion for my family and our loss. We received a sympathy card with Simba's paw prints from them also 🐾

It’s hard to rate an emergency vet well because this place is so full of sadness, but my dog has had to come in twice and both times I thought our experience was well handled all things considered. The staff is friendly and while the visits here tend to be hours long, seeing all the other animals coming in I never wondered why my pup wasn’t top of the priority line… he was still stable while other animals were coming in in truly dire condition and absolutely should have been seen first.So yes: if you show up it’ll probably be expensive and (if you’re lucky) a long wait, that’s true of any emergency vet. But minus those standard unpleasantries, I like this hospital and have felt both of our visits here were handled smoothly. I was always given detailed estimates upfront before any procedures were done and this visit the estimate they gave me actually overestimated the costs and I got a refund because what they needed to do ended up being cheaper. There’s plenty of parking and it’s nearby a freeway, so that means one less thing to worry about on that front. And there’s also food all around for when you’re waiting for you dog to be ready to go home. I’ve also found the staff very nice in both visits and the waiting room is spacious which is helpful to keep animals spaced out.

DO NOT TAKE Your dog here about a year ago I took my dog here and my dog died in there cage . My dog was disabled and couldn’t walk the vet said she died due to a panic attack they kept my dog all day till night. When we took my dog here they made us sign a paper saying if my dog dies we will have to pay 1000$.they do not care about your dog !!!! They will let it die for money!!!

First off the stuff is amazing very friendly great customer service and my pets were treated very well every time I go there it's always a great experience in the past I have been two different veterinarians and nothing compares my family has made them ever permanent veterinarians where are Frenchie's and soon our cats will also be going.... we love you guys.....
