Small store (compared to others) but it is what it is a family type store which I love. They have a little bit of everything. Didn’t interact much with staff but didn’t have a question. I love that they have garden items like firepits and decorations (that car storage thing and grill style firepit are cheaper than at our stores and cute) if you don’t wanna go to bigger stores stop by here first- you’ll probably buy something 🤗

Super rude cashiers! I would never have these two representing my store. Been coming here a long time and things have really changed. I think sometimes store owners forget. Service is everything. You can get hardware anywhere and cheaper than this place. When you try and support a smaller local store. Huh. Never again. Lowe’s & Home Depot have my business.

I walk in about 10 or 15 minutes before closing and before I can even finish explaining what I’m looking for 2 of the employees cut me off and tell me they don’t have it. Well I’m pretty sure there is some kind of tubing in the store that I can work with so I decide to look for myself. Only to be met at just about every single corner with pine of the employees just staring at me out of id say 5 or 6 occasions only once did they ask me a question even though I already stated exactly what I was looking for. The rest of the times I was just being profiled and they were making sure I wasn’t stealing any of their cheap stuff. I couldn’t even finish looking because I was ushered out the door 5 minutes before closing. Not the best experience. I get that people want to get home but I was going to be a paying customer not some thief off the street. I’m glad I was the only person shopping because it was completely embarrassing.

Went in for a key. Took no time at all. Staff greeted me and smiled. Locksmith was friendly and professional but the atmosphere is very laid back. Much more personal feeling than a big box store. Thanks guys.

Don't bother trying to buy paint here on a Sunday if there is more than one customer in the store. They treat you like you're bugging them. Well, at least Johnny Taco does!! This would be a great place for a hardware store!! Instead it's some kind of social gathering!!

I liked this store specially because I was able to find a ton of bolts for my honda. The only reason I said liked. Was due to one of their worker seem like he was trying to get me out the store by telling me to go to a store in downtown where the owner told me that one that recommends his store know they don't sell Japanese metric bolts. I really like true value but I don't need any problems with that employee. So any time I'm asked about bolts or tools I will recommend a different place or online resources. No needs that type of help.

I enjoy Modesto True Value. It is not the biggest in town, but I don't feel crowded there either. They have a 'Single Buy' selection on fasteners that is well stocked. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I remember as a kid, I use to get followed around the store by an older man just ready to catch me stealing something, LOL!Well, I assure, it wasn't me, lol. Great crew there now! Above and beyond in customer service! Young man there named Kian(?) (Sorry if i ruined the spelling) is great! Always helpful and I've seen him help 4 customers at once while answering my questions! You don't get service like that anywhere in Modesto!

I always loved this store & knowledgeable staff. That all changed Sunday when I brought a palm sander in & was buying sandpaper for it. I asked for help to see how to put paper in. A rather large man with a ve mustache came up, took it out of my hands & started to pull sanding pad off even though I told him that it didn’t come off. He ripped it off then told another clerk who has been at this store for years to help. Damage was already done. I asked clerk #2 if it could fix it since #1 broke it. He said NO just go home & glue it & let it dry for 24 hours! Clerk 1 heard me complaining & came up and in a sarcastic tone said SORRY. When I told #2 that that wasn’t necessary his reply was; “Men don’t like to be proven wrong.” I replied if he had listened in first place we would not be in this situation! Just because I’m a ELDERLY WOMAN doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m talking about!Felt very disrespected . Women know as much as men and in this case even more. Shame on them.

All of the employees were great. I needed some help finding specialized Bolts & Nuts to fix the seat on my wheelchair. The cashier directed me to a man working near the back of the store where I received very competent and very fast help.

I always receive the best customer service here! I’m always greeted with a hello, welcome, and a smile when I enter this store. The haven’t always had everything I am looking for. However, they are extremely knowledgeable and are willing to go the extra mile to help you try and find what you are looking for. If you are after the good ol’ fashion hardware store experience, True Value in Modesto is it! I recommend you go here if customer service is important to you!

I want to thank Parker of True Value for his excellent customer service! I came to the Coffee Road store to see if a bolt or screw on the driver seat in my van could be replaced. Even though it did not prevent my adjusting my seat, it just looked tacky. Parker was kind enough to go outside to my van and access the problem. Without hesitations he said he could find the appropriate screw and bolt to fix my seat.This is where True Value and employee, Parker, stood out when it comes to customer service. Parker took the time to actually install the needed screw and bolt. This is the second time this store's employees have come to my aid. Thank you! Interesting, I live right across from the new Ace Hardware store, but based on customer service, I chose and will continue to choose True Value Hardware.Parker you were terrific. Hat's off to you sir!

I needed a specific type of wrench but didn't know what is was called. I described it to the person at the front and called it a "cotter key." She did not know what that was, and I probably had the wrong name. She sent me to the back of the store. I again described the type of key I needed. It was a hex key due to the shape. He guided me I ER to those keys, I chose the one I needed, and I paid for it. So, the fro t person wasn't too helpful but the person in back k ew exactly what I needed.

Now this is the best hardware store in the world, they may have high prices on some items, but their customer service, their people and everything else is above board very helpful kind and courteous they also have propane which is a nice service, oh I forgot the most important thing they allow you to bring your dog into this way and they give him a treat and also take a picture of you and him and put it on their board

Best customer service. Not always the best prices but their customer service is great if you looking to solve a specific problem. More than once I have gone to other stores like Lowes and Home Depot and they couldn't find the answer to my problem. Then True Value solves it.

I love this store. You can find any small bolt or screw. Need just on bolt that got lost? No problem, they will help you find something to replace it.

This was my favorite place until recently. The cashier with blonde hair was very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. She encouraged another customer to beride me for her mistake. Very unprofessional. Staff gave me the items i didn't want in attempt to up sell.-------She acts like shes going to hold my place while they find the right one then tells me to get in back of line of seven people . Ridiculous. Not the first time but it's my last!-------I wish orchard was still around. True value modesto needs to Set their items so they are the same that it shows on the tag! Also... learn some customer service!!! I am so frustrated ! ! I will never waste my time in that store again.
