AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE. Whenever I come in here, whether to take my dogs to the self-service wash or need to buy them something, I am met by an incredibly nice employee. They always ask if I need help and give me recommendations if trying to decide between products. The washing station is always clean, and they're doing a great job accommodating for COVID restrictions (note: photo includes apron before shelter-in-place; they are now offering disposable aprons for current times). Spoil your pet and take them in:)

I had the single most supportive customer service experience of my life here last week when we went in with our brand-new dog, Luigi, to purchase him a collar and pick up a few other supplies. We had just adopted him a few hours before and had no idea that he would be freaked out by the aisles. He had an absolute panic attack about a third of the way through the store and attempted to slip his lead. We made a bit of a commotion as I managed to get him into one of the aisles and sort of hem him in and start calming him. An employee was there immediately and they didn't ask what was going on or worry that we were causing damage or anything of the sort - the first words out of their mouth were "What do you need?" with a very clear tone of "How do I help make the dog OK again?" I told them I thought he just needed a bit of space (no new people too close) and they said something to the effect of "I'll clear a perimeter", then warned me that they were going to move something out of the way in the next aisle and that it might frighten him (I think it was a cart for re-stocking).Then the employee returned to the front counter, saying we should take our time. After a minute, Luigi was calmed back down. We didn't venture any further in, but carefully grabbed what we needed and checked out. There were three or four employees gathered at the front counter and they didn't say anything more about what happened, but just rung us up normally and engraved a tag for him.I was so focused on poor Gino that I forgot to thank them, but hopefully this review goes some way toward showing our appreciation. They were honestly so wonderful and so compassionate toward our sweet, frightened boy, offering the exact right level of interference. We'll be coming here again once we've built up his confidence a bit. In the meantime, he's very handsome in his new collar and is enjoying his new rope toy.

These guys are great!! They've made great suggestions in my quest to find a food that satisfies my dog's palette while still keeping her on the healthy path I want. The best part of the journey was they would let you return any unused food for a credit towards trying out a new brand. They also have a huge selection for those days when your dog needs time to heal.

This is my community pet store, staffs there are so friendly, calm and helpful.They have a self service dog wash that is very convenient to urban dog owner running a small budget. They also has vet service on the weekend. I stopby there a lot to get ideas and advices for my wild husky. I'm so glad we have this pet store in my community.

Lots of room for the dogs to run. People and dogs are very friendly. Sadly the garbage cans are outside, the poop bag dispenser us almost always empty. All in all a great place!

vip pet clinic experience on saturday morning was excellent. super friendly and knowledgeable staff that weren’t pushy at all. we got the choice package for our senior mutt and the vet and vet techs did a great job with him.pet food express employees are also super nice and overall ambiance of the store is clean and organized. prices not always the lowest but quality is much better than other pet stores.

Absolute favorite pet store and pet wash. All possible brands and forms of pet food available. Staff extremely helpful with recommendations. Proud that this establishment is in my neighborhood. Have been to other branches of Pet Food Express that aren’t nearly as good. My only complaint is that the soap solution in the self service pet wash is sometimes too diluted, but they always have free shampoo on the side if needed.

The staff is very knowledgeable, humble, and helpful. I feel like I end up asking at least 10 questions every time I'm there. They never try to upsell, but do an amazing job of providing enough information to make educated decision.My pup had an accident on my last visit. They acted like it was nothing and cleaned it right away. I was told not to worry about it when I tried to help.

I love this place. The entire staff are always super welcoming - not just welcoming - and highly knowledgeable about all things pets minus in-depth medical complications.Parking hasn't been an issue; it's across the street from Safeway and next door to Trader Joe's.This Pet Food Express is sort of a one stop spot for all your family (+pet) needs.Great selection of toys, treats, food, bedding, and more. Self-service pet wash in the back.Big fan!
