We only ate at the restaurant. The price was hefty with 20% per person gratuity included in the tab. I mean the service was decent but I wasn’t even asked if I needed any refills and neither was my wife. The food was ok and our friends ordered the fish. I believe it was a Thai seasoning. I expected more from the menu but it was definitely different from what you would expect.

I drove up from SF looking for a quiet getaway and the Little River Inn did not disappoint. The location is over looking the water and has absolutely stunning views. We opted for a room with a fireplace and ocean view - the room was clean and very spacious. We grabbed a drink at the bar before heading into town for dinner - the bartender/staff in general were all lovely & had plenty of recommendations for things to do in town. Would definitely suggest this spot to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay up north.

We had a great stay and I think we want to come back in December. The grounds are very nicely kept. Rooms are very clean. The staff are welcoming and kind. Easy access to everything and everywhere you need to go while in Fort Bragg. The restaurant is great.Spoke to the manager, Tara, super cool.Told her they need to get bigger coffee mugs for the rooms 😊

Our family’s of four spent a night at Little River on our way to the Redwood forest. We were blown away by the beautiful ocean view (we booked the ocean view room). So picturesque ! My husband and I had wine and watched sunset on the deck, The room was spacious for two queen beds and a large bathroom. The only downside is that toilet is rather small. The landscape is also beautiful and neat! The beach is within a walking distance and my boys enjoyed the splashing at the sandy beach. Will definitely come back again.

Little River Inn was pretty close to perfect. A 5 minute drive from downtown Mendocino. About 20 minutes to Fort Bragg. The room we stayed in had an ocean view, fireplace, and a deck with rocking chairs. Views were spectacular. The only downfall was the outdated bathroom in our room. Every staff member was very helpful and accommodating. The grounds are kept well almost reminds me of a country club with the tennis courts and a golf course. The restaurant on site wasn't bad either. The halibut dish I got was my favorite dish out of the whole trip. Overall, a nice stay. Reasonably priced too!

Magical location and we had a magical stay. We spent 3 nights in the Brackenwood room in the cottages and I couldn’t recommend it more. The room is mostly updated, clean, comfortable bed. Sitting area in front of a large TV and gas fireplace but we spent more time on the patio rocking chairs or wonderful hot tub. The bathroom could use an update but it wasn’t distracting at all. Small shower with good water pressure. Room service meals were great as well. The only issue to flag is that because you are on the coast, cell coverage is horrible and in your room you have to rely on wifi but the wifi is not predictable and would go down for a few minutes periodically. If you have a mission critical zoom meeting I would plan around that but generally we were able to stream and download as needed. Overall we had a 5 star stay and will be back.

Overall this is place is a gimmick. The private hot tub is nice but for 600 dollars a night you would expect other parts to be nice too. We were woken up at 8am with five trucks outside our window including a wood chipper. This made it impossible to enjoy the jacuzzi in the morning with 10 people shouting right next to it. When we called the front desk they got them to eventually stop an hour and a half later but made no concessions and blamed the workers and proceeded to make me feel absurd for being upset. There were also worms in the indoor bathtub and both room service meals were delivered cold. This was not how we had hoped to be spending the first morning of our honeymoon. We will not be returning and would never recommend any one staying here, you are better off going to an actually nice place and finding a separate spa.

A great find along the PCH on our #oneplanetoneyear road trip. We stayed in room 161 - ask for that. The best view of them all. Big room, quiet, great view from the patio, a fireplace, jacuzzi bath (with bath salts), and the best hotel art above the fireplace ever. Fun fellow guests and colorful locals at the bar and still family owned. Ole convinced his wife to let him turn the front living room into a bar years ago for his friends. The rest is history and it's the same bar. Add in the wonderful, funky, 9-hole golf course attached to the property and you will have a nice time. There's gas, a small restaurant, the post office, and a small general store across the street. This is a place to relax, golf, hike, read a book, and marvel at the scenery.Nearby activities: Fun golf course.

Amazing stay at Little River Inn! Request an upper floor room for the best ocean view. We loved the coastal views from our room and the jetted bathtub. Instead of going to breakfast, try the included room delivery. Don’t miss clam chowder at the restaurant too!

Love Little River Inn! I stayed with my husband and dog. The rooms are clean and have beautiful ocean views. We were able to walk down to the beach with our dog. The restaurant is amazing and it was hands down best salmon I’ve had in a restaurant. Their golf courseis well kept and the scenery can’t be beat! We already booked our second trip there.

Think twice before booking, and use caution before taking management at their word.We booked a weekend stay at this hotel, but unfortunately had to cancel due to treacherous weather during the period of intense rains in January 2023. Normally, the hotel refuses to offer refunds and makes each visitor sign a contract acknowledging that late cancelations lead to a forfeiture of the prepayment, which is equivalent to at least one night’s stay (in our case, over $400).After much back and forth with hotel staff and management, the hotel agreed to apply our prepayment to a future stay in the form of a gift card, due to the rain and bad weather on our trip up to the area. We were asked for our mailing address and assured that a gift card would be mailed out to us.Flash forward a month later, and we had still not received a gift card. I called the hotel to inquire on status and learned for the first time that the hotel was refusing to provide either a refund or credit to any future stays, because the roads were “technically open” that weekend and the manager “drove into work” that day (these are direct quotes). The manager also quoted a note in the file indicating our full payment was “forfeited” as a result of our prior calls—the opposite of what was actually shared with us over the phone. While it is clear the hotel is struggling financially, that’s still no excuse to make misrepresentations to customers about providing a refund. It’s especially unprofessional for a hotel at this price point.Take care before booking at Little River Inn, and think twice before relying on management’s representations over the phone. They’ll go back on their word quite quickly, choosing instead to hide behind their COVID policy paperwork without care for customers’ individual circumstances.

Great hosting! And very awesome food! The history of the building is quite amazing! Head in for dinner and watch the sunset! You won’t be disappointed! All the seafood is locally sourced and delicious! Stay a while and talk with the bar tender, the stories are amazing!!

My prior stays at Little River Inn were 5 star, however this last stay was no better than a 2 star. The grounds were still a beautiful setting but the service to the rooms was lacking. Rooms were not tended to with with clean towels and clean cups and glasses during our absence. I'm sorry if rooms are cleaned after clients depart they can be cleaned during our stay. Room Service for breakfast was absolutely disappointing. Being delivered scones with a knock on the door and being handed a brown paper bag with round scones in a cardboard paper container with a plastic lid was not my idea of a 5 star room service experience. A mask could of been worn to deliver a tray with food if the reason is "due to covid". Also, not to mention the non functioning coffee maker....At $350+ a night our experience should of been lots better...unfortunately the Little River Inn is not the same....Sad...howe

The view is good and the room was clean, but the good experience ends there…The wifi did not work in our room, this is not a horrible problem itself but for the money it was. Stayed two nights and told the front desk the first night. Nothing happened. Second night, went and told the front desk again, dude came to the room to confirm that the wifi was not working in the room. Nothing happened. Cell reception is poor here, so wifi is important for me.Customer service does not exist at this hotel, even as a repeat guest at this establishment. Suffice to say, I will not be returning. If I was working at this hotel I might have welcomed the guests to use the wifi in the main house, maybe with some drink tokens for the inconvenience? Just some customer service tips. Also, book online because if you call and reserve a room they will up charge your rate when you stay. Thanks for reading, good luck in the new year.

Beautiful setting in an enclosed garden with white linens. Crab Louie was wonderful with plump tasty pieces of real crab! The crab cakes were the best I've had in a very, very long time. Service polite and efficient , personally , I would appreciate more interaction as a solo diner. All in all, I highly recommend. I'll be back as a guest, golfer and diner.

Mediocre, at best, food and service. I have stayed at Little River Inn many times and considered their restaurant one of the best area— no more! The menu was limited and the fish I had could have been bought at a grocery store frozen food section. I was served my meal 10 minutes prior to my friend, who sat and waited for her salad. We had to flag down the waitress (skyler) who said she had to go “hunt down” her salad.20 percent tip is automatically included (which I will tip more for good service) with the “classy” addition of a $5 charge for bread and butter.Very disappointing— understand there is a new chef. They probably need to step it up.

Beautiful Inn, gorgeous views and friendly staff for anything you need. We dined in the outdoor patio area which they have arranged very well and it creates a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious! The noise from the highway can't be dampened unfortunately but the scenery makes up for it.

Although the power has been out for most of our week here, the Inn has a generator that kept our lights on and the restaurant running. Had to listen to the last 2 games of the World Series on the radio, but we were a lot better off than the folks having to evacuate their houses because of fire.We love coming here every year. We have a wonderful room with a great view of the ocean. The golf course behind the property is in good shape and fun to play, with some challenging holes. A little spendy, but the only golf in this area. The restaurant has been packed all week because of the fires. But even though they've been running on generator power, they've managed to keep producing great meals. The food is very good with large helpings. For the most part the service is fairly quick. The staff here are very friendly and willing to help with whatever you may need. We'll be back next year.

Beware of their very strict cancellation policy in these Covid times. If you get sick & do not give them at least 7 days notice, you will lose your entire deposit plus tax - the equivalent of one nights stay. They have had this policy for 3 years and according to Terra, they think it is “fair.” In my opinion, this cancellation policy takes advantage of a global pandemic, knowing there is no possible way anyone can predict they will get sick 7 days out.I recently had to cancel my reservation at The Little River Inn because 2 days into our trip to CA, we all came down with Covid. I was aware of their cancellation policy when I booked the room but decided to take a chance. This was a VERY costly mistake on my part. When I informed them we had to cancel because we all had Covid, this is the message we received:So sorry you cannot make this trip, unfortunately your deposit of $372.86 has been forfeited.Nice! When I pointed out that their response lacked compassion & that the proper thing to do would be to offer a refund if the room were to sell, Terra replied that “of course they will offer me a refund if the room sells & the only reason that wasn’t offered to me upfront was because I mentioned that I had trip insurance & that they can not offer me a refund if I am going to file a claim.” Obviously, anyone would prefer a refund vs the hassle of filing a claim! I would have liked to know that was an option as soon as I had to cancel. Long story short, they said that the room did not sell - even though they are usually able to offer a refund 8 out of 10 times! Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that trip insurance? So buyer beware! There are plenty of other hotels that have a much more reasonable cancellation policy.

We requested a 1st floor king deluxe. The website showed a nicely appointed room Ours was sparse with a tiny metal gas fireplace. We couldn't see the ocean through additional slats added to the railing in front of our window. No other rooms had this obstruction. The table with 2 chairs in the room was so mismatched my chin was close to the table top. The mattress was lumpy and we woke every morning with shoulder and back aches. The shower was tiny and the bathroom was dark. I realize covid has left people needing jobs...but it's ridiculous to pay for service you don't receive such as coffee cups, hand towels, making your own bed, etc all for the same cost as with service! Won't waste my time coming here again. Very discouraging.

We got the chance to stay at Little River Inn earlier this month and we loved it! The staff was awesome and so friendly. Our room had a lovely view of the ocean and the room was lovely. Large comfy bed, large west facing windows and a cozy fireplace. We felt right at home from the beginning of our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone. Really. It’s great for families, couples, girls trip anything!

We greatly enjoyed our stay and found the experience to be a 5 star except for the dining. We are vegetarian and found the vegetarian selection to be dreadful. The only vegetarian item on the menu was a whole head of cauliflower. I ordered the cauliflower, and it was not good at all. My wife doesn't like cauliflower so she was reduced to eating rolls (which are not free) and a dinner salad. I would give the dining (for a vegetarian) a 1 star and suggest the chef at least offer a vegetarian pasta dish.

Came for dinner with required reservation, would highly suggest making reservations. The dining areas are dated, this is an old inn but still seems a bit dated. We ordered our food before being seated, assume this is a COVID necessity and then found our own table. We choose window seating in the Wisteria room but soon realized it was next to the outdoor waiting line. Felt we were on display as we ate our meal. My wife ordered the New York steak and I ordered the Lasagna. The steak was tough and lacked any flavor, my lasagna was not very tasty. I ordered soda water and we both had water as our beverage. We had a olallieberry cobbler for dessert and my wife had a Bailey's coffee. With the mandatory added 20% gratuity , our meal came to $125 which was greatly overpriced for the quality of food served.I would not recommend this Inn for dining.
