Beautiful little find. The owner is knowledgeable in so many areas and deeply concerned about the fish he sells. He actually refused to sell me more fish until I could come back and tell him the ones I’d purchased were all ok. Whatever your problem, he has a solution. I can’t recommend this business highly enough.

Very cool place to come buy items for your aquarium ..The fish selections are incredibly amazing too .I been buying my water Turtle food here for years .Great prices on all of everything here.The owner is a very kind and friendly knowledgeable man. I constantly tell him he all the time he has an incredible Pet Store..You won't be disappointed shopping here too.🐢🐢🐠🐟🐠🐠🐟 😃

This store owner is very helpful and welcoming. The place is clean and so are the fish tanks. Like that he stays open until 7pm.

You will see a photo of our now dead Koi fish, and our others remain sick and likely dying thanks to the owner of Foothill Aquatic & Pets in La Verne, CA. My wife went in to purchase a small box of Tetra Algae Blocks, but the owner said he did not have those. Instead, he talked my wife into purchasing (6) large blocks, several times the size of the small blocks, and said to place all of them into the Koi Pond. We normally place (2) of the small blocks. The owner then pushed my wife into buying API Salt for the Koi Pond, which we have never used. Now one Koi is dead, and the rest are sick and/or dying. In typical (IT"S NOT MY FAULT) fashion, the owner blames Tetra and API for killing the Koi, and not his greedy desire to sell products too strong, and unnecessary for our size Pond. When I called the owner to tell him what happened, he could not have cared less. This was our experience with Aquatic & Pets in La Verne, CA.

This place had multiple dead fish and smelled horrible. The owner was just sitting down watching television instead of cleaning out the tanks. He had a giant Oscar in what appeared to be a 20 gallon tank. Most of the tanks were also half full and There was red algae covering the glass in all tanks. Also most of his products were covered in about a inch of dust. I would say that this guy needs to step up his game to keep that place open. I wish I could give this place 0 stars but that’s not a option. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Good place for fresh water fish and supplies.My wife previously visited here a few months ago and suggested I visit to replenish out tropical fish. Specifically, we were looking for discus. For those who don't know, they can be difficult to establish.I purchased two (a blue and striped) variety and they are thriving. I had previously purchased discus at another store in Ontario. Those fish did not last long. Thankfully, these two are very healthy and thriving beyond belief!The employee (I assume was the owner--not sure of his name), offered good advice on maintaining the fish and the water quality. We chatted for several minutes about the various issues with this variery of fish. It was refreshing to know he had extensive knowledge about fresh water fish.With the healthy fish and what appears to be a good variety of supplies, I'll definitely recommend FOOTHILL Aquatics to others and for my future needs.

Been going here for years. When I first looked for a fish store to begin my hobby I checked out almost every store from Azusa to pomona. By far the most cleanly and organized fish store.I was helped building my first salt water tank about 10 years ago. Jon the owner knows by heart what fish I own and always knows what to recommend when I want to add.Very realistic man and has no problem sharing all his knowledge with you to make sure you have a successful home for fish.

The owner is very nice and helpful he doesn't try to sell you stuff like other pet stores. I've been buying my fish and fish needs for 3 or 4 years now. This is the only place I go for fish because of the great prices. He is very nice and very smart about fish (half of my fish knowledge is from him)

Been buying mice and rats from this location for about 10 years now and John is a great person to know. He also always has time to check my water parameters when I bring it in. Set up a fish tank with John's help in the past 3 months and my tank is thriving with red cherry shrimp and ember tetras as well as Malaysian Trumpet Snails to stir my substrate. Trumpet Snails burrow ; )

After not finding what I was looking for at other local fish stores, I decided to come by and give this store a chance. After several visits I came to realize that the owner is very knowledgeable and personal.I inquired about ordering certain species of fish that he did not typically stock and he was more than happy to order them. Within a week the fish came in and man were they beautiful!

I walked into the store and no one was behind the register. I walked around and looked at fish, hoping to buy my first fish tank. I stayed for about 10 minutes walking around and didn’t see anyone working in the store. I tried to wait patiently but after I called out “hello?” But no one answered. I tried to wait patiently but after that long I had to walk out. Just me experience.

Best and cheapest prices on saltwater fish in the area! I've visited all the fish shops around Pasadena and the I.E... his prices are definitely cheaper. Very happy with my hawkfish.

This place needs to be checked out! Number one it's dirty. We saw several already dead fish and a dead rodent roting in a cage with the other mice. One rat had a severe growth on it nose. This place needs to be closed down!

Freshwater fish selection isn't good. Thought that the tanks could be cleaner. Not much of a selection of filters. The employee "owner?" was nice enough. Might visit again to check fish stock.

This place has a great fish section and a horrific everything else section. They have too many bearded dragon babies in one acrylic box with no heater or anything whatsoever. Hamsters mice and rats have both males and females in the same tank so they keep breeding to no end. None of the small animals can open their eyes. Teddy bear hamsters and guinea pig are missing hair. Robo hamsters missing ears. It's horrific.

Got a adorable black moor gold fish. He was happy and active when I got him and he is still playful and happy. And my gf got me a black moor and they are both healthy and growing.

No idea how they have such a high rating. The fish look sick, the tanks are very dirty, dead fish and animals everywhere. Smells like death in there. Very depressing to see this place.
