Their customer service at this location needs improvement, but my concern was for the cats that are for adoption. I went to see them and one of the looked like he had a eye infection. His eyes were watery and full of discharge. The water they had for them looked dirty, like I had not been changed. I’m not sure how much attention they get, but it needs to be better. Some of these pets have gone thru some hard things before making it here and they need at-least basic attention, they deserve better.

Was 15 minutes late to vaccine appointment due to traffic, just to be told by the front desk that my dog couldn't be seen because I was over 5 minutes late. Additionally, I was then told that I had to have a full exam done in order to get the vaccines even though I was able to book just the vaccine appointment through the website. Please do better, I was excited to start using Petco as my regular vet, but definitely not at this rate.

My husband and I went to this establishment and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. They price matched the items we purchased! The only thing I would say that gave them a 3 star was they needed to have at least one more person on the floor to help with customers.

I shopped at this location a couple of times. One of the managers , Grace, was extremely disrespectful to me, i have never gone back since... She was disrespectful towards me because I mentioned at the checkout that her store was unsanitary, (i saw a roach IN a dog food bag) , and that some of the animals looked SEVERELY dehydrated. She proceeded to make a face at me, LAUGHED, and blatantly ignored what i said... i find this HIGHLY inappropriate towards me, AND her employees!! the second (and last time) i was there, she yelled at two cashiers at the checkout because they could not get the line down quick enough.. why wouldn't she help out instead of yelling at them?!?! I feel sorry for anyone that shops here, and especially the employees!! The animals look dehydrated, and the cats they have NEVER have water OR food in their bowls!! i will NEVER shop here again, that store is SO disgusting, anyone who purchases dog/cat food from this store should check for roaches, too!!! SO GROSS!

Associates are very helpful. If u can't find something on the floor they will look in the back for you without issue. Always satisfied when I leave and doesn't hurt seeing all those cute buddies either.

I had a really bad experience with this company. Their customer service is terrible, and I don't recommend them at all. I took my dog to their groomer today and asked for a haircut and a bath. However, they charged me a lot of money and didn't even know how to cut the hair properly. I would rate them zero stars if I could. Avoid them at all costs.

I am leaving this review because of the abysmal management and customer service, which led to my departure from the company in December. I hope they will take this feedback seriously and make necessary changes, although I have my doubts. When I joined the company after being discharged from the military and moving from Rhode Island, I thought it would be an excellent way to re-enter society. However, I was wrong. The General Manager, Grace Velazquez, was one of the worst people I have ever encountered. She abused her power and often showed up hours late or left early without consequences. Despite her poor attendance, she was never written up or reprimanded by her higher-ups, including the district manager, Kirk.She planned to remove most, if not all, of the staff that she deemed were not up to her standards. She would lie to my fellow employees, making them work entire shifts and then terminate them without notice. One incident that stood out to me was when she had alcohol delivered to the store while I was working at the registers. Her treatment of the employees was highly unprofessional, and if there was ever an issue, she would speak ill of her staff in front of customers, which made the store and Petco look bad. She also neglected regularly checking on the animals in their enclosures to ensure they had enough food and water. In many instances, I found sick or dead animals in their enclosures, which was unacceptable and unprofessional.Shoplifting was also a significant problem at this location, and the store did nothing to address the situation. We were often given impossible time restraints when restocking, and if we failed to complete a full pallet by ourselves in 30 to 60 minutes at 5 in the morning, we would be written up. The GM's ignorance of the issues was immeasurable, and she would never admit her mistakes, instead choosing to blame others when things went wrong. I left the company because I wanted to better myself and go to college since there was no chance of me promoting in the company due to false sexual harassment allegations by a single employee who was later fired because of it.To summarize, the feedback brought to light several significant issues pertaining to the management and customer service at the company. The General Manager, Grace Velazquez, displayed unprofessional behavior and incompetence while managing staff and handling animals. Moreover, the company neglected to address concerns regarding shoplifting and unreasonable work expectations. These problems created a hostile and unpleasant work atmosphere, ultimately leading to my resignation and the termination of many other employees. The company must take feedback seriously and implement necessary changes to enhance the work environment and customer service.

After my purchase of some crickets I wasn't given my receipt. When I asked for it I was told it was going to take a while to print because their system was slow so they weren't giving anyone receipts. Pretty sure they are required to give people receipts. Additionally, it was requested that my crickets be brought to the front. Instead I waited around by the register for nearly 10 minutes and then was told by another customer that I had to go around the corner to get them, not by the girl at the register who had seen me standing there waiting.

leaving this review, my aim is to spark a positive shift for the company and this location going forward so this isn’t a continuous problem for other individuals. i worked at this location for a few months after separating from the marine corps. i had high hopes in working around animals and learning how to better care for them nutritionally as a long term goal for me. working here was okay at first as it was a whole new experience so i was open to learning and criticism. i abruptly left a week ago due to the lack of communication, the degrading treatment and unprofessional attitude towards the partners from management for an extent period of time. the general store manager had disrespected myself and my wife while i was shopping for my cats on my day off. then proceeded to message me separately stating that she wanted to talk to me about my wife’s comment about her attitude. the abuse of power, the beating around the bush, was extremely unprofessional. regardless of whether i work at this location or not, i am a paying customer and refuse to be treated as an inconvenience. the animal care was absolutely terrible. the store itself was unkept and unsanitary. i can’t even count on my own two hands how many times customers have approached me to let me know there was an animal unresponsive in their enclosure, which is completely unacceptable. throughout my time at this store, i received minimal training from multiple partners that all shared different knowledge on one specific thing and never received full training whatsoever. it had gotten to the point where i knew i wouldn’t thrive at this store due to the lack of positive leadership which i am by far familiar with from being in the military and refuse to tolerate going forward in my search for a career that will preach what is in black and white print.

As someone whom works in costumer service my self ; and has dealt with many different management/ management styles I have never experience such an un-professional management until shopping at this store. My wife had previously worked at this store , and the day she was off we had went into the store because we had order some cat items off the website and we had some questions. Upon entry to the store there was no one at the front ; we looked and we had seen an employee and we had asked if our order had gotten picked yet from the floor ; come to find out the order was not showing. Upon receiving said information we went to talk to the manger , to get some clarification on our order. My wife had asked about the order and the manger had my a snarky remark saying why she did a delivery instead of picking it up in store. Which is not the point , rather or not she did a deliver order or a pick up in store order we still had questions. Furthermore I went up to the front counter to continue to ask our questions , while asking said questions ; the manger answer were very short and felt like I was a bother. She handed me the device they use to look at orders ; and behold our order but it’s only 2 out of the 5 items we order. I let her know that we order five items and she said “well that’s all that popped up , I don’t know what to tell you” I proceeded to show her the order on line and she said “ they are going to have to go to a different store and grab it because we don’t have it” once that was said I told her that they do have it on the floor that we just seen it. While this was happening another costumer comes up ready to check out , the manger walked away from me and went to help the other costumer; which is not a problem at all ; but as someone who works in costumer service ; the manger should’ve not just walked away with out verifying that the costumer she was previously helping had no further questions. I was highly irritated after the interaction I found my wife and I tell her that she needs to talk to her boss or I am going to. After leaving the store , my wife gets a message from the manager stating “I heard what you partner said about needing to check me. We can have a conversation about it next time we work together. Have a good day. Thank You.” As a manger that is completely and utterly un-professional and disrespectful. Because at the end of the day , we are paying costumers rather my wife worked there or not and my wife has nothing to do with what I said.

I have never felt more like a 2-bit criminal than how I was treated today at the Petco in Fletcher Parkway. As a senior & POC, I plan things out so as not to waste time. Petco requires a rabies vaccination. We complied and took our dog to the vet where she was all day cooped up in a kennel just to make sure we have the right paperwork.I would give this review "0" stars if I could.Our appointment was at 330p 3/30th and we called to confirm address around 12noon, for our 330p appt., when we were advised that due to the rain, can we bring our dog in early(?), as the staff wanted to go "home early" (she said no name) due to the rainstorm.So in compliance I bring, Chloe, 8lb yorkie, in for her appt. with the rabies vac paperwork. The first thing when greeted and handing him the paperwork was he look at the form like I was passing counterfeit money. He looked at me and said he had to go get this examined at the In-store Vet Hsptl on site, that they would call to veirfy. I waited up to 10 mins just to have the employee tell me we can't take your dog this is not a legitimate rabies vaccination form, in all honesty, " anyone could of filled out this form" "this is NOT legitimate".I felt like I am being accused of a crime, of going out of my way and finding a blank Vet Vac form (on the dark web) and filling it out, conspiring to commit a crime and then trying to pass it off like I am some hustler, some 2-bit criminal.I didn't argue because the first and last time we brought our dog to Petco for a grooming the groomer clipped her nails too short causing her to bleed and as a result they "comped" our grooming session. So that was my first mistake, coming back to to the same company that butchered my dog last time.I didn't argue, I just said, OK, well thank you and left. Driving home I amthinking the whole time the staff did this so they can GO HOME EARLY.Unbelievable, don't take your dog here they don't care about your pet.

Nightcrawlers are always dead and moldy. I always complain. Today the associate didn't seem to care and I had to repeat myself three times and they seemed annoyed. This could have poisoned any reptile if they ate mold. I only come here out of convenience occasionally I don't think I'll be back.

Starting a mealworm colony for all my fowl I breed. Asked if the giant mealworms are the same species as the little ones as I need older ones to turn to beetles. Associate thought worms lay eggs not beetles. Which is fine not knowing. But she asked her coworker who instantly started laughing like it was a ridiculous question and asked “why”? As in why am I wanting to start a colony. Felt made fun of on top of not really having any answers so I googled it. Only good stars as mealworms looked good and reasonably priced. I work for a feed store and no way do we treat customers like this

Based on my experience here, this place was good overall. Customer service was average. Good variety of items, animals, etc. Store seemed clean and organized. No issues. Would recommend and would return.

Started our day at the loft. Always good energy. Love listening and talking to Sammy L. Our bar guys Kelly always remembers our name as well as others.Went to our seats and were greeted by Karin and supervisor Dave. Always fun, professional and welcoming.Only concern is there is frequently a puddle/lake under our feet. 304 row 7 seat 2-3.Karin has gotten housekeeping ? To come and squeegee the area. She usually does that before we get to our seats.

I typically shop at this Petco store so decided to get my animals vaccinations here as we’re moving soon. The staff was unpleasant and rude to the man behind me in line and made me feel really uncomfortable to be spending my money there. They began to mock him when he left the clinic. The services were also $77 more expensive than expected. They were also having a problem with their machine and weren’t accepting credit cards and ‘knew about it all day’ yet there were no signs or people to let us know until we were paying for our supplies and the clinic vet bill.

I'm thrilled with the service and educated team members! We adopted our fur baby kitty Fiona from here (via Rescue House) in 2015 and come here for all of her needs.Earlier this month, my daughter purchased a chinchilla after researching for a month and gathering all the required equipment/paraphernalia. I was very reluctant at first to have a "rodent" in my home, but Jen (best associate there hands down) took the time to discuss the ins and outs of chinchilla care with me, and the next week, Anjou-my "Grandchilla"- joined the family! She does poop a lot but she's cutie lol

Honestly, i really like how willingly helpful the staff and management are at this location! Great inventory and stocking too! Bettas and other animals are well cared for and rarely see any dead fish here. Not sure why the lemon grove location manager said they don’t sell single crickets and only pre bagged by 40,50, & 60 count at their location.. I’ll keep coming to La Mesa!

The store clerk recommended the Help Quiet Moments for my female cats in heat. I and my cats are very pleased. We got there with less than 10 minutes of their closing time and they still patiently helped us with smiles and laughter.

Here's how you do itAs you enter start by looking at the pups who are at the dog hotelWork your way to the kittens on the far side, these are the reason for my visit. I came in to adopt a kitten.I was in before to buy goldfish. The clerk did am amazing job catching the ones that caught my eye. The fish are now 4 x the original size. My kitten is amazing. I wish I could take all of them. Pets are the best part of retirement

I like Petco; customers and employees love dogs...and puppies too. Prices can be comparable when on sale to other places online. Sometimes you save, other times not as much. Some supplies are lacking right now and can be found elsewhere. Otherwise, there's petsmart in El Cajon just in case you're in need of particular items in a pinch. I was looking for Fresh Pet Vital Grain Free Puppy food in a chub...I was recommended it at Petco when I had no idea what whole fresh food to feed my puppy. An awesome associate helped me, and gave me a new puppy package of coupons and suggestions for treats. I was done shopping in less than 10 minutes once she assisted me. The story of my puppies poo suggested she's very healthy eating it.

The front staff, she was great. When i was leaving empty handed she if i they had what i was looking for. Since it was slow, she walked away to assist me. She found what i was looking for at the price i wanted. Petco is way more expensive than most pet stores, so i rarely ever go there. Im glad i did that day.

Went in with my daughter(26) looking for powered kitten formula for myself and she got pellets for her cats litter box i dont remember what the price was for her pellets but the kitten formula was alittle expensive but my baby kittie needed it so i had no choice to grab it but overall i love this place

An average pet store. I was bringing my cat to the vet.Edited: I am impressed with the quick response so added another star. It's not the store's fault that it's on the smaller side. It's difficult to get product for all animals in an average size building. I would like to see more cat toys, catnip, and cat grooming supplies that are not made in China.
